I was lying in bed tonight like I have been doing the last two months. I have seen you perform you schtick for probably 20 years - I enjoy it, because like you, I have a very similar cynical, comedic view of the world we now live in. I was in the fire service for almost 25 years before being medically retired as a fire captain. I'm almost 3 years into stage 4 kidney cancer which has a life expectancy of 2-5 years. In January I walked away from a short marriage. I don't recommend getting married if you have a terminal illness. So the last 2 months I lay awake through most of the night with my mind not being able to rest. I can't imagine leaving my two sons in a world like this. What ever happened to people treating each other as humans? What ever happened to stopping on the road to help a disabled motorist? What ever happened to presidents being presidential? How can the leader of this nation in the midst of a pandemic address the nation declaring the Corona virus a hoax? Fortunately, I have stayed sane watching Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers which through a link brought me to you. Comedy really does cure everything. The last couple of nights I have been watching your videos and laughing until I cry, or crying until I laugh. I have always respected your skill (art) as a comedian and can't thank you enough for giving me back something I had recently lost; the ability to want to wake up another day and continue making the world better for those I will inevitably leave behind. Thank you sincerely. FUCKU
