🔥 Want a Fleece Engine Mounted Filter Assembly for 2011-2024 6.7L Ford Powerstroke? Order One Today! www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/fleece-engine-mounted-filter-2011-2024-ford-powerstroke/
I just installed my new Fleece Under Hood Fuel Filter this week, replacing the old plastic, throw-away filter. Earlier, I had noticed that the “cradle” that holds the filter assembly was falling apart (several cracks in it). In fact, when the filter was installed, it just sat in the cradle-not held in place anywhere. So, my new Fleece system is in now-easy enough installation. However, I wish someone would address the stupid design of the three hoses that attach to the fuel filter. These dang things are nearly impossible to put on and take off. You still have to mess with the “quick connects” and take the entire Fleece unit off, just to get to the fuel filter to change it! Seems like a little better engineering would have found a way to install the filter/Fleece unit, WITHOUT having to deal with the three hoses. Honestly, it’s a good upgrade, but could have been much better, with a little ingenuity in the design. And, back to the cracked cradle that holds the filter…..it only had four screws holding it in place, three of which were fairly easy to get to and remove. The fourth screw on the cradle was situated under 2 aluminum “pipes or tubes” that sat on top of the last screw. I did everything I could think of, and could not get to the screw. So, called my local Ford dealer and he told me to drop by and they’d take it out (for a small charge). They had to remove the tubes to get to the screw-way above my pay grade. So, this turned into a major project. So, I’m happy with the unit. I think it could have been a touch better design (make it easier to access the filter without taking off the hoses). Thanks!
This will be really nice for those of us who use an airdog or fass setup, because purchasing the filter set just for the secondary filter and throwing the primary away is frustrating! I will definitely be purchasing this.
I noticed competitors use the Baldwin filters. Baldwin has a micron rating of 4 Nominal; 15 Absolute. The Donaldson filter states 9 micron. And the OEM motorcraft upper and lower are both 4 micron. Do you think the Baldwin filter is a better filter to go with? Also do you think it would fit inside the fleece housing?
This is designed to run in conjunction with a aftermarket fuel system. Can a dealer void your warranty for installing a aftermarket component? Yes. Do you have legal rights to keep this from happening to you? Depends on your failure and what causes it. See the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for an explanation of this.
I found the rear fuel line to be VERY hard to seat. Wasn’t comfortable forcing it on and installed the factory filter. The line went right on with no effort. Maybe the fitting is wrong?
We have only studied the filtration given by Baldwin. If you compare the Cat (or any other offerings) use at your own risk but make sure that you compare the filtration and flow details to those of the Baldwin.
@@SM-ut6vb Motorcraft does not publish a micron rating for the individual filters, they do however publish a 7 micron rating for the entire kit which includes the lower (primary) and upper (secondary) filter together. This rating is however not provided at any specific efficiency level so an apples-to-apples comparison cannot be made without knowing at what efficiency level the micron rating was derived. We can however state that the Donaldson filter is 9 micron at 99% efficiency.
@@dirtpicasso When comparing filters, the micron rating provided by the manufacturer must be considered in combination with the efficiency that the rating is provided at - i.e. - a 10 micron filter at a 90% efficiency rating means 90% of 10 micron particulates are captured, the same filter could also capture 50% of 7 micron particles. All data indicates performance of the Donaldson filter is comparable to the Motorcraft filter performance.
I order parts advertised on these people's site! When they showed up it wasn't at all what was described on the site or the video so i immediately notified them! This guy "Josh" tells me "Im emailing the manufacturer to see if they even make it" Of course i was like"Dont you verify they make it before advertising it on your site & making TH-cam videos?" Then they refused to refund all my money! Dont listen to nothing Josh says
@BubbaJJohnson I'm very sorry you're having difficulty with this part. I reached out to our sales team and we don't show an order from a Mr. Johnson. So that we may further assist you, what name is the order under please?

I wish Fleece would design and make a fuel sending unit for the 2011 and up F-250.

What about the plastic connectors that also break that connect to the secondary filter?
Working on it……
Question: 🙋♂️! Installing that product, Does it void your factory warranty? (6.7 PowerStroke)

Possibly a machining issue? Give us or Fleece a call and we can help you figure it out.
Hey! Just recently found you on youtube, I am down near Etown. Have anything for the 7.3 idi for performance mods?
Give us a call 859-737-4966.
What other filters can be used after the ones provided? Can we use cat?

What is the micron rating of the filter element
9 micron which is a bit concerning since the OE filter is rated to 4 micron.
