Something I want to point out is that there is in fact a manual for BYOC that talks about each class (with the exception of AVGN, who's section in the manual claims that people don't need manuals or something along those lines for a joke) and how their weapons work. Fred Chexter's page mentions that Hell's energy mucked up his Zorchers and now they just kill things normally.
Admittedly i wrote that myself as a fill in since the class creator (pizzadeliverymaid) was not around when i was filling out the loose ends of the manual before release
Dude, i found a link to this mod on a forum years ago, and had no idea what it was referencing. I liked the style though and I made a gameplay video with the trollface class. It’s been so weird finding out the connection between this mod and pizza tower which was my favorite game of last year.
Also, that was also Chex guy's original arsenal had less weapons than you can have in Doom 2, so redrawing the sprites helped bringing in new weapons to fill the gaps. I redraw Postal Dude's weapons in order to have an easy way to keep the weapon's graphic style consistent too since each of those comes from different games with different art styles.
2:42 tbh more boomer shooters should have weapons with a particular type of ADS. Don't slow down movement, don't increase accuracy, just zoom in a little bit and give it a little ADS viewmodel flair. That way I can play with my absurdly high FoV and actually see what I'm shooting at with my godawful eyes too.
Interesting change to Pizza Tower style Chex Guy compared to Samsara Reincarnation/ReMixer this whole thing is like Samsara but only for player characters no monster changes at all so far
@@LaggyBlazko one of the byoc devs here, i am making a monster mod of my own, however it will have compatibility with byoc, The name of it will be "versatile factions" so keep an eye out in the future
I love how these modders had the imagination to make all this and yet also had the herd mentality of making half of them based on a the flavour of the month indie game at the time.

Fun fact: The reason why the Chex Quest weapons have a Doom feel is because the Chex Quest games are...literally just custom Doom campaigns with resprites for everything. The weapons _are_ the Doom weapons. The mod seemingly just takes these weapons directly, plus the alien container, and gives them super nicely done custom animations in the same style as the Pizza Tower characters.

The zorch is telefragging them because they are already in their home dimension and get teleported to the same location that they are in.
That may make sense with the zombified soldiers, but not with the demons though. Well, that is unless the level is set in hell.
Could be that the weapons were modified to teleport them right to where they were to telefrag them

I absolutely hate the Quake 3 hit confirm sound, so I don't appreciate Serious Sam using an incredibly similar hit confirm sound.
That comes with BYOC as a whole, but you can select a different hit sound or disable it entirely.
It's so sad that Icarus never shows real add-ons transforming the world into a more fitting theme.

The character will be reworked thou. A brawler style character with weapons that are in limited use.
The Heavy's pistol isn't actually small, his hands are just massive.
That actually looks like a .32 acp pistol actually, which for reference, has only slightly more kick than .25 auto, which is basically a weaker .22lr
