- The Amrock looks a lot like the Barred Plymouth Rock and the Dominique...and there is a reason for it! But this is a distinct breed, and Brian has the details on this chicken with American roots and European development.

Thanks for the great info on this handsome breed of chicken! Very interesting!
Our pleasure!
Another great possibility for me. Thanks guys!
You bet!
As always I have enjoyed your informative video. Thank you!😊
So nice of you!
Lovely chicken! Thanks for highlighting.
We're getting a January thaw in my part of Ontario. The girls go out on the grassy patches and are lovin it
We are experiencing an unusual January thaw as well. Yes, the chickens love it!
@@HobbyFarmGuys January thaws aren't unusual but welcomed. Who knows what February will bring. Groundhog Day on Friday!
Any chance you guys (Steve, Brian and Eric) could do a video on the animals you all have on your Hobby Farms? Thanks again.
Great idea! We have talked about this, but are waiting until warmer weather (don’t like filming outside in freezing weather).
Can't blame you there! I think many of your fans would be very interested in seeing/hearing more of your own hobby farms; you all have inspired a lot of us..@@HobbyFarmGuys
I love these videos! I have learned so much from you guys. This sounds like a great addition to the flock....BUT, I may need a bigger farm, lol!
😂 The same problem we all have!
Thank you another breed to consider.
Our pleasure!
Never heard of the amrock . Thank you
You are welcome!
I've never heard of them either. I'm getting my first ever chickens this year and still learning breeds.
That's awesome! We have a large playlist of chicken breed spotlights to watch! 😉
I have heard of the AM Rock , great information, my rock are a white hen,a barred hen and a partridge hen, and they all lay regularly all seasons ,they all lay small lite color eggs 🥚, I don't use lite and this winter they all just kept laying small eggs ,I have several types of hens and a surprisingly excellent one is a Sultan Bantam ,SHE lays several eggs a week even now in the middle of WINTER and HER eggs are bigger than my rocks , I like them ALL ,other are silky, Reds, red star, ostrolorpe, polish, araucana, and more 😀 good structure in a day.😊
Sounds like an awesome flock!
Oh! I just got a mixed pullet and a straight run of egg producing breeds from the hatchery, (10 chicks each) and it seems there are a few of these! No rose comb, but possibly one of the other two breeds, I’ll go take a look at them, especially the Roos! When I combine my flocks, I’ll have 23 hens. How many roosters can one have? There are six Roos in the new group, and I am auditioning them for the job of protecting the girls when they free range.
Most likely a barred Plymouth Rock. They are much more common and not as expensive. They are a great breed!
With 23 hens, you probably want 2 roosters, no more than 3.
Thank you!
Did you say the egg color but I missed it?
Large brown eggs.
@4zooflorida got it…large brown eggs!
