Agree! As a swede I've kind of grown up with her, and her development as an actor is awesome. Her performance in Dune is, as you say, mindblowing!
The way she casts herself as the mother in the Gom Jabbar scene was truly amazing. She showed an incredible balance of conflict between motherhood and religious devotion to the Bene Gesserit.
Her immense talent and effortless beauty on display in Dune is the stuff of cinematic dreams. I couldn't take my eyes off of her the entire film. Bravo.
There is still a lot of plot points to come, it is either going to be a BrBa success story, a Game of Thrones screw up or a part two followed with a part three.
I wouldn't know that if I didn't read the book, which I didn't (the film just showed a pathetic woman doing pathetic things without any agency). Also, why do you respect the Bene Gesserit? It's women brainwashing other women into being brood mares for breeding purposes. Also, it's women-only. The author had all sorts of mesed-up ideas about gender roles, and you respect that? Relegating women to the sidelines this way is NOT ok, but white men can get anything published if he puts white men on top as usual.
She is what i call a "scene stealer" actress. Every scene she appears in, she takes over the presence. You either have it or you don't. She has it. Watch Dr. Sleep, or Mission Impossible to see... great actress.
There are scenes in the MI films where she's speaking entire paragraphs with just her eyes. And you can hear the words. it's insane. She has a gift. She was perfect for Lady Jessica.
I've seen many of these movies but I've never pinned her as the same woman in any of them because she just molds so well into the characters she's portraying. Most recently her performance in Dune was stellar
Same. Have no idea it's her unless they close up on her face at a particular angle as she speaks. Something about her lips and chin that makes her take on an air of specific vulnerability that is unique to her. Quite the chameleon.
I think shes great, but I wouldn't say she owns the movie. As a fan of Dune I honestly don't think any of the actors were truly fantastic in the movie. Most were good to very good. Jason Momoa I believe was the worst casting and the least effective acting for me.. He seems like a really good dude but he's not the greatest actor in the world. If anyone was truly fantastic in the movie it was probably Stellan Skarsgard.
I agree hers was probably the stand out performance. Chalamet was good too and I also enjoyed Charlotte Ramplings scenes. Such perfect casting across the board.
Rebecca's role in Doctor Sleep was absolutely dark and well portrayed. I was stunned. As Lady Jessica in Dune, wow, did she nail that role. I cannot wait for the second half of that film. Ms. Ferguson is an absolute thespian.
Ever since seeing her in Mission: Impossible I became a big fan, her performance in Dune though takes things to all new heights, she portrayed Jessica's inner conflict very beautifully.
She's not the tyoe of actors that are nominated for the Oscar several times but she leaves so many iconic characters for the cinema already, Ilsa Faust, Rose the Hat, and Lady Jessica and yet I feel like it's just the beginning for her.
I’m inlove with Timothee Chalamet but I swear It almost felt like Rebecca carried a lot of the movie. I mean everyone did but she brought it! Her performance was precise and powerful. What a strong actress!!!!
What amazes me with Rebecca is how versatile she is. No type casting with her. I don’t think there is anything she can’t do. She’s smart, funny, serious and OMG so absolutely beautiful. I love her voice. It’s almost hypnotic. What a great and well earned career she has had. I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves. I sure hope to see more of her in the future.
Yeah it's good to see nice actresses are still out there. Most actresses these days act so entitled and come off as unlikable. She's one of the good ones that are still left.
She brought more humanity and emotion to Jessica than is in the book, where she is stoic and a bit suppressed. But I guess in a movie you have to SHOW emotion, not just write it internally.
I think in the books Jessica appears only when she is in Bene Gesserit mode. When she needs to suppress fear and emotion. In the movie, we get to see the way up towards those moments, which was portrayed very well. It was perhaps a bit over the top on Gom Jabbar, but all in all, very cleverly made.
One of the more underrated actresses out there, but it seems like not for long. I'd love to see her as a villain. She's got that gorgeous but sharp/cunning look. Could easily see her as a Cersei Lannister type.
Cersei Lannister wasnt based on either TV show or the books but on actual historical Elizabeth woodwille, who was Queen of England during the latter part of wars of the roses. The whole Song of Ice And Fire series is partly based on Wars of the Roses. Even the names of the main waring families sound almost the same as in real life history; Stark (York) and Lannister (Lancaster) Rebecca's version of Queen Elizabeth is definetly worth a watch! 😃 shes great as always, and the series as a whole is pretty well made as long as you dont except much historical accuracy. It is based on a Philippa Gregory book after all. 😅
I became a fan of Rebecca Ferguson when I saw her in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. She definitely stole the show and the action sequences with her and Tom Cruise were spectacular! Looking forward to see Dead Reckoning Part 1!
@@clausmadsen6754 she did read the book. On Colbert she told him she had read most of it, stopping at the point the movie did. In another interview she said she went back to the book to understand Jessica a lot better.
Rebecca has this way of talking and you would just want her to read a breakfast menu and it's delightful to hear. Even though she didn't sing Never Enough, her overall look of Jenny was beautiful like an angel with fire for hair. She looked absolutely beautiful. Even in Doctor Sleep, she gave good villain vibes. That reminded me of the old Disney villains. She would be a brilliant Evil Queen. That scene with Jacob Tremblay was disturbing but Ferguson made it really believable that her character was unredeemable and just evil. I can't wait to see Dune!!! She looks so regal and so badass!!!
I think it says a lot about her that she admits she didn't do the singing. Many actors would just pretend they did. Back in the day actresses were always dubbed but lied about it. It became a scandal with Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady where they said she sang and she didn't and the truth came out!
she's just so amazing in Dune. i would say her acting outshine the other mega stars in the movie. she deserves an award for her performance. the way she acting out the character emotion is so subtle yet captivating and very real, it gets to you emotionally. amazing actress

I first fell in love with her presence with Silo, and only after rewatching Dune did I realize how incredible her range and power is. She really is a top class actress. Elegant and talented.
Wow. What a lovely, articulate. gorgeous lady. English is her second language and yet she's one of the most articulate people I've ever heard. Hugely impressive. I was lucky enough to have been in the front row of the Brooklyn Academy of Music in January 2017 to watch her perform "Never Enough" over and over (and over) again. She sang her heart out live, totally merging with the gal who sang the song on the soundtrack). I loved watching this. And more importantly, listening to this.
I fell in love with her in Dune (where she was INCREDIBLE, slowly but surely showing the power of the character) and turns out I watched quite a few of her movies. She is really good. Somehow I didn’t “notice” her earlier cause everywhere she becomes the character in this very subtle way, but Dune changed things for me and this was a delight to watch. ❤️
She’s great in everything, but the one that’s unique and my favorite is Doctor Sleep. She’s scary, but also weirdly likeable and charming, which makes her even scarier… Really great actress

I've never seen Rebecca until the Dune. In the Dune she's a real jewel. Her character is beautiful, smart and powerful yet not a superhero 👍 Paul has got an amazing mother
Watching Silo, I've fallen in love with Rebecca. Now I'm about to watch MI: Rogue Nation because of the above video. She's my new hero. Excellent actress, beautiful human being in all senses. Sighhhh.
I remembered seeing her in The Greatest Showman in the cinemas. The scene where she sings that high note onstage will forever give me goosebumps 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Rebecca Ferguson and Emily Blunt are the two best modern actresses of our day. They both are multi talented and steal the screen with every shot and line.
I love Rebecca with all my heart. I will watch anything she is in because I know she will absolutely kill any role she plays. Plus she's one of the most beautiful women in the world
In Dr Sleep I love how the actors playing the True Knot planned to come out all badass and Jacob broke all of them! They had to go to a break and even Jacob’s Dad was so excited because no one had seen him perform this yet.
There were so many good performances in Dune but Rebecca was easily one of the standouts. Excited to see her in future and can’t wait for Mission Impossible 7!
Actually talented actress which is not as common as you may think in the world of known actresses. And of course, being downright gorgeous also helps with the thespian career.

Indeed. She should be nominated for the Oscar. But it's a sci-fi/fantasy movie, so not a good chance for acting nods there.
Her portrayal of Jessica, conflicted between being a mother and a Bene Gesserit sister, was truely award worthy performance.

Loved her in Reminiscence. I know it wasn't a highly rated film, but I enjoyed it and her performance was amazing.
She was breathtakingly gorgeous in that movie. However, she is breathtakingly gorgeous in everything she does.
She's got the Ingrid Bergman's look & vibe going on IMHO. So elegant.
Oh my, I absolutely love the white on white stays & chemise she's wearing!
I've never seen Rebecca until the Dune. In the Dune she's a real jewel. Her character is beautiful, smart and powerful yet not a superhero 👍 Paul has got an amazing mother
Amazing actress! I hope that Dune will bring her the recognition she deserves! In fact it’s already happening 😌
She was amazing in Dune :!
I saw her in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation for the first time, fell in love with her, and followed her ever since.
She's a great actress. I really liked her in Mission Impossible.
Watching Silo, I've fallen in love with Rebecca. Now I'm about to watch MI: Rogue Nation because of the above video. She's my new hero. Excellent actress, beautiful human being in all senses. Sighhhh.
She's incredible in The Red Tent. It's such a shame it's not mentioned here.
I remembered seeing her in The Greatest Showman in the cinemas. The scene where she sings that high note onstage will forever give me goosebumps 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I wish they released on the album what her singing the song would sound like since they dubbed her over with Lauren 🤔😞
I think one of her absolute greatest performances of all time was White Queen.
That is the first time I ever saw her and instantly captivated by her lol
The duality- she was even better as a villain in Doctor Sleep like wow
She is such an amazing actress and has such a genuine and magnetic personality. How could you NOT want to sit down and have a conversation with her?
Rose the Hat is an iconic horror villain, perfect casting.
Rebecca Ferguson and Emily Blunt are the two best modern actresses of our day. They both are multi talented and steal the screen with every shot and line.
So true. And both are not only absolutely stunning but also English
Yeshhhh
@@TeaspooncatFerguson is Swedish and says so in this video.
@@Beatmyguest001 She also said in another one that she is half and half (which means that not only is she Swedish, she is also English), but okay👍🏻
I love Rebecca with all my heart. I will watch anything she is in because I know she will absolutely kill any role she plays. Plus she's one of the most beautiful women in the world
Extremely talented with utmost elegance. Rebecca is in a league of her own!
She just gained a new fan. Dune and her performance was simply amazing
I first saw her in The White Queen and she was incredible in it. Her nomination was so, so well deserved. She was and ia amazing.
Hmph
She's got such an attractive voice tone!
She was brilliant in the White Queen, can't wait to see her in Dune
Actually talented actress which is not as common as you may think in the world of known actresses. And of course, being downright gorgeous also helps with the thespian career.
