I can’t agree more @user-rr5xf3yw2z. Seb’s treatment of Galveston is truly superb! Glen Campbell was not only a member of The Beach Boys, he was an integral member of the Wrecking Crew. For those of you who remember the music of the 60s and 70s, of the many hits on the Billboard 100 the Wrecking Crew of Glen Campbell, Hal Blaine, Tommy Tedesco, Larry Knechtel, Carol Kaye, Michael Omartian, Joe Osborn, Chuck Berghofer, Ray Pohlman, Leon Russell, Bill Pitman and many other extremely talented session players were indeed the players for hundreds of hit songs for groups who did not play their instruments. The prolific songwriter Jimmy Webb wrote Galveston, and Glen Campbell crafted the song into a Viet Nam era anthem for those who served and for those left behind. Seb absolutely does justice to a song which has endured more than 50 years. Seb is a master guitarist, and his productions of Steely Dan and Donald Fagen compositions are made with attention to detail and are quite frankly the best on TH-cam, and as far as I know the best on any platform. I honestly know the countless hours, and yes, some of the technological frustrations Seb endures to give us a polished product. I’m asking all of you who follow Seb to step up and help Seb keep the music we love alive by becoming a patron by any means which suit you. Seb has the gift of talent many of us can only dream of having. But Seb has provided us with the blueprints and techniques to follow if we are serious about becoming better musicians in general, and guitarists I particular. Let’s give something back to the man who has brought us such a superb catalog of great music. If you choose to help, there is no doubt the best is yet to come.

I did just return from the Bay area around San Francisco and the weather was perfect! Tempted to go back just because the weather here shows no signs of changing any time soon! Yes, late to the thread for sure...but just seeing this. So, recently inspired by the Wrecking Crew documentary and then digging back into Glen Campbell (bringing back many fond memories of hearing his albums as a young boy at my Grandparents home), I read about "controversy" with this song back in the Vietnam days where Glen was accused of some anti-war sentiment related to this song. In another interview of Jimmy Webb, and you all know he wrote the song, he did not want to get into any war related rhetoric and stated it is the lamentations of a soldier dreaming of back home and missing his girl. The soldier could have been anywhere and anytime in the history of conflicts so Mr. Webb did not, or did not admit at least, to targeting the Vietnam War with that slight reference in the song. Anyway, as a 1970's Rock fan, I love this song and so much of what Glen Campbell did, which seemingly falls outside my "music lane". I also heard, recently, Ted Nugent, of all people, when asked to choose the "best guitarist" from the list of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, all of whom he supposedly knew very well, stated "Glen Campbell"! And everyone fell off their chairs! Many do not have a clue how great an instrumentalist Glen really was. RIP Glen and thanks for all the memories!
