I know I’m late to this. But just picked this up and def agree with the guy in the back right. The finish lingers a tad too long. But then again I’m more of a highlands guy. Cheers y’all.
The old series seemed a little disconnected from each other. These 2 definitely show the character of the distillery and were worth trying for sure. - Shawn
We were nervous when they took the Diurachs Own away. I liked that one from the old line. So far this 18 year makes up for it. I’m anxious to try out the whole line and see what they have done. - Shawn
I've always wanted to like Jura, but its watered down to buggery here in Scotland; however this one @44% ABV sounds like it might be something I'd enjoy, and it's ~£70 here, so I may grab a bottle before long!
That’s funny, because I think Jura 10 is pretty awesome! I’ve got Macallan, Aberlour, Oban, and Glen-Everything to select from so it’s not like I’m limited in my experience. I do understand why some folks hate on it. It’s not for everyone. But I do feel it is a rich, solid, working man’s Scotch. Oh well! More for me! 🥃🥃🥃
Drew is spot on, this is overpowering white pepper. Ok from Talisker 10 but not in an 18 year old. But to each their own. Changes completely with water, it's likable now with water, but too strong neat, and I'm not scared of peatmonsters or high abv.
when you've got under 15 minutes to review it and you intend to release some of that alcohol, ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do. When enjoying a glass off camera I will coat the inside of my glass with the whisky, but rarely "swirl" it around! ~Mark
@@Scotch4Dummies you should be telling your viewers not to swirl and the reason you are swirling in your videos (time restricted). Also, the adverse affects this has on nosing whisky. I always have a laugh when I see wealthy 'whisky enthusiasts' swirling and talking nonsense about their expensive drams - especially at Feis Ile! Do it correctly or don't do it at all.
This is easily the best whisky review vlog.
Just got a bottle for £50 ($80) on Black Friday. Really pleased
Awesome! I have a soft spot in my heart for Jura and really want to see them improve and grow into something special!! ~Mark
I’m happy to get this review because I intended to get my hands on it.
Thank you buddies for sharing✔️

We're excited to get some feedback and perceptions from others too, so be sure to share them here! :-) ~Mark
French wine casks - I like it already 😊🥃!
Great review guys! Cheers!

Had this one some days ago at the bar of the Jura Hotel right beside the distillery :-)
I can’t think of a better place to have a glass.

It is good that they tried doing a revamp. I did a vertical tasting of the old series and I was very disappointed in it.

So excited to try this! But I can't imagine it taking the place of Duriach's Own. It's a sentimental favorite.
Agreed Lee, but hopefully you will find a place in your heart for this one too! :-) ~Mark
Considering this one it’s at a great price at my local. But few bucks more I can grab a Glenfiddach 18, Glenlivet 18, Macallan 15…hmmmmmmmm
This is my fav official Jura
Great review. I am relieved to hear it is a good one . Cheers

Scotch 4 Dummies me too. I have not had anything from their new line, but Diurach's own is good . Thanks for the review.
Very informative🙂 And very positive compared to most Jura reviews.
I think the new lineup may surprise people. It is a whole new scotch in my opinion.

$120 a bottle in Chicago, not bad for an 18 year. Will this be the Thursday live show bottle?
We sure intend it to be..... ;-) ~Mark
£70 here in Jura and even less when you know the Manager
It's got a funky cheese taste to it and that's a good thing. $99 here in NH is even better.
Woot! More S4D in my week. Gotta clear that backlog of scotch!!
We are working on it. It is never a question of not wanting to try more. It is usually a question of getting time for all of us to sit down.

The 10 was Rock gut. Shouldn’t even deserve to be called scotch. Won’t waste money on a whiskey that can’t produce a decent 10 or 12

Never swirl yer whisky, it allows too much alcohol to release. You swirl wine, not whisky!!
