There was a listing a few months ago for Messi's match issue World Cup boots on a memorabilia website that was absolutely fascinating to go through. I believe they sold for close to 50k sterling and the listing is no longer around, but it was almost completely different to the retail version. Different stud pattern, burrito tongue instead of one piece upper, leather instead of synthetic, and thick memory foam on the interior.
Hopefully one day adidas does a 1 to 1 release that's a little more faithful than the Kroos replicas.
Unfortunately I don't think we will ever get a faithful Messi 1:1 release too much going on I'd say.
I've seen a few listings like that for Messi match worn and they're always amazing to look at, the level of customisation is beyond almost any other player.
Think the high toebox helps to let the toes come all the way up and have that perfect fit, Mizuno does the high toebox too, which messes with sizing
It's all based on Messi's preferences and foot type, it's completely custom to him.

Stiff soleplate makes sense. Messi’s change of direction is second to none so he needs something to keep up with him.
Makes sense for sure, still stunned by quite how stiff it was! He has some serious foot strength.
@@BootWizard Isn't this the opposite? The stronger your feet the less stiffness you need. It's his knees and ankles that are taking the load during a change of direction when he has something extremely rigid on his foot?
@@prevolve_ it's one of those where both things are correct simultaneously. You're correct, but also, in order to be able to use a soleplate that stiff effectively you also need to have good foot strength. So he likely doesn't need it for support, it's for preference. Almost all pro boots I've ever had are stiffened in some way, these are just the most intense!

@@Damian-wr6bz a great question, I assume there's a couple of reasons.
1- it's more expensive for companies to do that. Sad truth, but I'm sure it's part of the pie.
2- retail boots are generally made to be appealing to as many people as possible and your average consumer probably doesn't want their soleplate too stiff or they may consider it uncomfortable, which in turn means less sales and less ... See point 1, money.
3- Athletes, pro players are top end athletes and they're bodies are built as such they can therefore handle the demands that a Stiffer soleplate may place on joints and similar to what I mentioned above, have the strength to manipulate very stiff plates effectively.
None of this is based on evidence I will add. Just my thoughts based on what I've seen in retail and pro boots.

I put them on, but they're not my size and I of course couldn't play In them, so they're a strange feeling, but there's only so much I can tell because of course they're super custom but not to me.

Hey mate, I was wondering what size to get for my Wefoot grip socks I’m a foot size 8.5 UK so not sure to go medium or large, and I prefer the sock to go higher my calf, not sure if the the sizing makes a difference to the length of the sock. Thank you
Sizing will make a slight difference to the length for sure. My general advice is that the small sock (no matter the brand) will give you a better fit. But if that little bit of extra length is more needed then go for the bigger size
