I often wonder whether the things you say in your letters (emails) home have an impact on your release date. I know from your stories that some things you write CAN hurt you (things like bitching about the RDAP program, etc) but might it also be true that saying positive things about your prison experience and what you are learning to improve yourself will increase your chance for early release to halfway house or home detention? Someone is reading those emails and I just wonder if your case manager is made aware of what you are saying.
Thank God I was never in Federal prison! But I also worked with people in my profession who DID go to prison. I am concerned about the issue of not qualifying for early release if you do NOT have a drug or alcohol problem. I realize nothing in prison is "fair." I get that. But should non-addicts also join the drug abuse program and "pretend" they have a drug/alcohol problem? Justin, you never mentioned about yourself. You never said you were an addict. Thanks for watching. I did not have a history of alcohol or drug abuse. Therefore, I was not eligible for the program. Plus, my sentence was not long enough. Scott thrived in the program and documented the entire journey, making him a prime candidate to teach people in our community. Our entire team is grateful to have his expertise.
@@WhiteCollarAdviceOfficial Justin, thanks for your reply. As you noted, your stay was not as long as some others. I think you are a wonderful example of personal atonement. I am also very sad about physicians who do not apparently understand the Stark Laws and are unfamiliar with "Safe Harbors." I wish medical associations would do a better job TRAINING doctors about the risks of billing Medicare. When I was chair of our practice association (Insurance Committee), I gave lectures on that. Doctors usually have a high IQ. But that does not automatically translate to understanding the legal wars against them by Democrats. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

So on a 30 month sentence for non violent crime, what is the best scenario as fair as getting out early? how much of 30months will I serve?
