Giganotosaurus (meaning "giant southern lizard") is a genus of theropod that lived in Argentina during the Late Cretaceous period. It is currently one of the largest known meat-eating dinosaurs and the largest carnosaur to ever exist.
Spinosaurus (meaning "spine lizard") is a genus of spinosaurid dinosaur that lived in what now is North Africa, 99 to 93.5 million years ago.
This genus was known first from Egyptian remains discovered in 1912 and described by German palaeontologist Ernst Stromer in 1915. The original remains were destroyed in World War II, but additional material has come to light in the early 21st century.
It is unclear whether one or two species are represented in the fossils reported in the scientific literature. The best known species is S. aegyptiacus from Egypt, although a potential second species, S. maroccanus, has been recovered from Morocco.

My personal theory is that the Giga we see in evolution is a Giga that Ingen was making before Biosyn made the Giga we see in dominion.
ok what i want to say is that the spino in jp 3 is apparantly 2 years old so not fully grown by 2023 when it fights the giga if (spino was living on sorna the whole time) it would have years of experience and be even larger then it was in 2001

Not gonna lie, if Giga was starving then he wouldn’t have the maximum strength to fight Spino to that hard of a degree, and if this is the Isla Sorna Spino then Spino wouldn’t die that fast, Spino actively hunted down other large predators to get rid of competition, and he wouldn’t be dumb enough to just let Giga bite him and choke him, Spino would’ve used his arms when he bit Giga to hold it down on the neck to not lose grip and leg Giga get loose
Giga is a lot stronger, more armored and taller than the JP3 rex. Making it a huge possibility it’d be able to knock off the spino if it was bitten. Spino also isn’t the brightest (confirmed by Jack Horner to be dumber than a trex) while Giga was shown to be a more tactical fighter in the prologue.

The “hunting trex” thing was also debunked by camp Cretaceous since they stated it only hunted fish and small dinosaurs. Spino is old and slower now. He couldn’t catch a single 13 year old boy.
The plane that was destroyed was lighter than a ankylosaurus. You can look it up if you don’t believe me, therefore it is not impressive.

Rexes have been shown knocking down trees as well. In fact a rex destroyed one by dragging spino into it lmao.
It’s not very stealthy on land given how it only has a kill count of two and couldn’t even catch or sneak up on children. Sorry to break it to you, but Spinosaurus is not all that.

I'm not sure we know the Giga's true size yet, as the movie hasn't even been released. Giga is slightly taller than Spino not including the sail, but that makes Spino bigger. It'd sure be my favorite fight to see though! I'd give the Giga a 55 or 60% win rate.
So a size chart has been released and the giganototsaurus stood over Rexy by a few inches. While the spino still towered over them both.

Yes. At the head, fully grown spinosaurus (the one in jwcc) was the same height as rexy (16 ft tall) whilst the giga in jwd wasn't fully grown at 18ft tall. At was said he would grow up to the same size as the fully grown indominus rex or even bigger (20ft tall). The dominion giga was younger at his time then than the indominus was then,yet Zeb was still bigger. The reason indom and giga would grow up to roughly the same size is because the indominus rex was mostly giganotosaurus, not trex, that's why rexy and indominus couldn't communicate. A sign of the giganotosaurus in the indominus rex is the size, osteoderms, jagged teeth, mouth with no lips and the crest on its head.

Yeah, tbh I'd probably prefer that alternative route much more than the actual ending in the movie😀. Imagine the director make the giga fight the theri first, beat it to the pulp to demonstrate its montrous power and then in the final battle, the spino would team up with rexy to defeat this monster. To put that in perspective, the largest T-rex ever found was 43 feet in length, 13 feet in height, and weighed an estimated 8 tons. I don't think that T-rex would even want to fight a Spinosaurus that's more than twice its size in weight and almost twice its height (and that's considering the giant Spinosaurus sail). The largest Giganotosaurus is an estimated 51 feet in length, 23 feet in height, and apparently weighed 13 tons. The T-rex needs to up its game lol

The rex that the spino fought was about 38 feet, and the spino was barely larger than it. The giga was 50+ ft, had a stronger bite and had osteoderms on its back and head that acted like special armour. The spino was given a size buff in camp cretaceous, but it was still smaller than the giga. I doubt the jp3 spino would stand any chance against the giga. Giga wins 9/10 times

Also, 80%? I'm pretty sure the InGen Spinosaurus isn't gonna be that easy to kill because BioSyn created the Giganotosaurus to compete against InGen's T.rex and we know an InGen T.rex loses more often to the InGen Spinosaurus. So 80% is very unfair. I do agree the Dominion Giga would still win but by like 60% or so percent. You shouldn't intertwine real life with their movie counterparts because both of these are monsters that a fight between both can really go either way with the Dominion Giganotosaurus more than likely just getting the edge.

Actually, the Giga used a small cliff to help kill the T.rex quicker like a noose which made the T.rex hung up and break its neck immediately unlike the Spinosaurus which only used itself with no foreign object. Btw, the T.rex the Spino killed was confirmed to have been the same size and weight as it in a DVD interview back when JP3 was fresh off the press and with Camp Cretaceous S4, that same Spino was also lowkey confirmed to have gotten larger as well but no proper dimensions have been given yet. Also, that Giga was the Cretaceous Counterpart and not the Cloned Variant in which the clone, was specifically designed to compete against InGen's Tyrannosaurus and not InGen's Spinosaurus. Again, I still think the BioSyn Giga would beat the InGen Spinosaurus in a straight fight, but it wouldn't have been as one-sided as 80% since it wasn't cloned for that purpose.
As for its irl counterpart, IDK where the hell did you get 9 m. and 3.7 tons when then neotype specimen: FSAC-KK-11888 IS confirmed to have been a young not full grown individual at 10.93 m. and 4< tons. Large Carnosaurs like Giganotosaurus actually have very weak bites in relation to their jaws that's because their teeth were very thin and blade-like which only allowed them 1-1.5 tons of force and any higher would cause their teeth to snap. Meanwhile, Spinosaurus's teeth were huge solid cones up to the point some have been misidentified for as Pliosaur Teeth, although no test has been done on them yet since the lack of remains, Spinosaurus' bite was estimated to have exert up to 3 tons of force for a grasping bite. Giganotosaurus' bite is more lethal overtime, meanwhile Spinosaurus' bite was very good for keeping a leverage on a rival so both of their bites would even eachother out. And don't forget Spinosaurus' massive arms tipped with giant meathooks which act as a multi-purpose tool for both foraging for food and fighting back like the claws of a Bear, Anteater and Megatherium.
As for experience, Spinosaurus is more than likely better experienced than Giganotosaurus in combat. Why? Spinosaurus lived in the most predator filled formation alongside Bahariasaurus, Deltadromeus, Sauroniops and a very closely sized relative, Carcharodontosaurus, as well as a multitude of varied sized crocodilians. Meanwhile Giganotosaurus was the solo large carnivore in its environment with the only notable carnivore that it lived alongside being Ekrixinatosaurus who is only Carnotaurus-sized. So in a fight irl, a Giganotosaurus wouldn't even know what to do when it sees a Spinosaurus meanwhile the Spinosaurus would just think it's another Carcharodontosaurus which would already give it the advantage in experience.
Comparing the two of them directly with a tale of the tape comparison, Giganotosaurus' only real advantages over Spinosaurus was its speed and agility. Meanwhile Spinosaurus has size, weight, intelligence, stability(since its CoG was set lower tnx to its short but still strong back legs as confirmed by Andrea Cau in 2015 and backed up by Mark Witton in 2020) and weaponry because their bites are neutral and you seem to have forgotten Spino's massive arms that can also be lethal weapons.
Don't let those popular fallacies online fool you because the dinosaur community is filled to the brim with Spinosaurus-Downplayers who don't do research and just judge the way an animal looks which even then, all we have are bones to look out and the remains of Spinosaurus isn't even below average.
I mean the Spino in lore is know to also hunt large prey, hell he is implied to hunt the big carnivores so badly that not only they are afraid once they smell his poop but when the Spino smells Tyranosaurus pee, it goes after it hoping to kill the T. rex

0:04-0:06 Giganotosaurus was created by BioSyn, not InGen. Sure InGen used the Giga's DNA for the I-Rex, but BioSyn cloned the dinosaur in the BioSyn sanctuary before the events of JWD.
InGen Spinosaurus is not 15 meters. He's 13.3 meters per the JP3 size chart and DVD. He could also run up to 27 miles per hour according to Dan Taylor on the DVD.

Supposedly Scotty the T-rex is bigger than any known Spino or Giga, which means that T-rex currently holds the "biggest carnivore" title. Not the longest carnivore, but the biggest as measured by weight.
Also, when you're comparing movie dinosaurs it can be hard to declare a true winner. Because it really just depends who currently has the better plot armor.

Good Analysis, but as always you forget that spino is always near river and lakes, and during fights he should've taken advantage on that, like trying to push the enemy there, or bait the enemy to follow him in the water. On land yeah is most likely 60-70% for giga, but if water takes part of this fight, spino is got the upper hands. Keep it up with ur vids!

I think you have a valid argument as I have had with friends and a Rex vs spino argument. But I fault you for saying the spino is already at water when it's attacked so I would beg to differ that being to the water it would use it to its advantage. rex is actually heavier spino ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ its muscle mass was far larger than that of spino and its weight was estimated in a 3d model recently and its weight was estimated to be around 8 tons average, the largest rex currently known(scotti) is around 10.6 tons. a spino, was around 6.8 tons, a smaller, weaker, dino really. because it didnt really need that much strength, all it ate was fish, its stupid that people actually think a dino that had almost no proper hutning experience, no fight experience its whole life almost can beat a rex that needs to hunt. rex has evolved millions of years to just hunt strong, armoured herbivores, ie.triceratops(even tho trike would demolish rex) but still, it is evolved to hunt those kind of herbivores for millions of years. while spino evolved millions of years to hunt sharks that were 1/10 its weight. why on EARTH do people think spino would win idk. edit: yes I know its a jp3 spino but im just lifting some things of my chest lmao

Bleed is the easiest to inflict, hydraulic press takes time but it can deal with struggling enemies better than twist (worse than bleed which benefits from struggling enemies to inflict even more bleeding wounds) since they can’t just counter by pulling away constantly because of Tyrannosaurus teeth and the fact that the clamping motion doesn’t care about struggles. Twist is the hardest to accomplish and requires heavily immobilizing the enemy in order to inflict such as making the enemy lose footing so they can’t pull away or try to violently thrash the grip loose.

Coming from someone whom had read a good amount of the comments, here is the verdict I see from multiple sources and places of information, but instead of the spino from jp3, we will be using the same spino but from CC, although it was confirmed and decomfirmed by 2 of the higher placements of the production team, deconfirmed by Colin, saying "it sounded different" and "it sounded and looked different" and confirmed by the executive producer of CC, but going off of their sizes and stats
CC spino:
Height: ~5.7 meters at the head, and slightly over 7 meters at the sail
Weight: ~10 tons
Length: ~16.4 meters
Bite force: ~5,000 lbs (i personally don't believe that the spino's bite would be necessarily strong, but with how spino jaws normally would be, being able to hold onto struggling and slippery prey items, it would have alot of high stress resistance)
Speed: 27mph
Experience/diet: fish and small dinosaurs, but during it's life on Sorna, large carnivores for reducing competition
Weapons: long jaws, large body, long arms and claws, thick tail
Dominion Giga:
Height: 5.5 meters
Weight: 8.95 tons

Bite force: estimated to be about 8000 lbs

Advantages for spino: slightly longer and heavier, stronger arms, longer claws, slightly more combat hardened, better bite gripping, more versatile swimming/movement options, big sail for intimidation
Disadvantages for spino: vulnerable sail, weaker bite force, slightly slower
Advantages for giga: stronger bite force, better cutting teeth, slightly faster, more hunting experience (as in prey items)
Disadvantages for Giga: slightly lighter, slightly shorter, less effective arms and claws, less intimidation material(?)
Just from pure stats alone, I believe spino slightly wins it out, but taking into account of how quickly they both defeated a rex, their ways of killing would differ, if the giga gets a hold of the spino's neck like how it did in the prolouge with the rex, I see the giga winning it with around 55% of the battles, if it takes place on a more terrestrial orientated location, but in a more aquatic environment, I believe the spino takes the win around 80% of the time, and with a even middle ground, I do still believe the spino wins it out with around a 55-60% as it's killing method seems to be more developed as when it fought the rex in the forest, it know to go for the neck and it would be a sure fire way to win a fight quickly, but that doesn't mean the giga won't put up one hell of a fight, but please do feel free to put your own takes on the battle, but I do warn, *fanboys, stay away.* because I do not want to deal with any of them, all dinosaurs are respectable in their own rights, and just because [insert dinosaur] killed your favorite, doesn't give you the right to openly hate and shit on the dinosaur for something that probably wouldn't have even happened, which dinosaurs are still just animals which they have their own animalistic tendencies and instincts, and my reasoning for typing this out is to attempt to quell the debate, is it 100% correct?
