At the time Leliana believes her dream is in reference to de blight, but I think that's in reference to the herald. A single rose surrounded by chaos is how the herald/inquisitor is found. I had a dream: In it there was an impenetrable darkness, so dense, so real, and there was a terrible ungodly noise. I stood on a peak, and watched as the darkness consumed everything. When the storm swallowed the last of the sun's light I fell, and the darkness drew me in. When I woke I went to the chantry garden as I always do, but that day the rosebush in the corner had flowered. Everyone new that bush was dead. It was grey, and twisted, and nulled, the ugliest thing you ever saw, but there it was a single beautiful rose. It was as though the maker stretched out his hand to say, " Even in the midst of this darkness there is hope, and beauty. Have faith ". It's like he spoke directly to my soul. I like the " Have Faith " part because I believe that's exactly what the spirit that saved the herald was; a Spirit of Faith.
The fact that the white rose growing from a dead rose bush didn't happen until she had her dream/vision is too much of a coincidence to not be connected and lends itself to Leliana telling the truth.
If the Maker is a Titan (maybe the Titan in the Fade (which is a whole other ball of foil)), your theory about Lyrium Ghosts and Leliana totally make sense! Also, super slick credits.
I don't think her father would "matter" much if she is a descendant of Andraste because her line was all female. Unless his family is/was the secret protector of Andraste's line. On a different note could Sandal be a lyrium ghost?

Hi The Kingdom. I have 2 theory abaut Andraste and the Old gods. What if the Maker or what Andraste thought its the Maker is actually Mythal. Abaut my 2 theory. 1. What if the Old gods are working for the Evanuris? What is the "actual" goal of the Old gods when they come to the surface? To destroy everything in their way OR they have a more specific goal, but they were unable to accomplish it cuz of the Wardens? 2. If the Maker is Mythal, maybe she knew or atleast suspected the Old gods true identity. Maybe Mythal made up the Maker cuz she didn't wanted the humans to worship the Old gods, cuz as long as they worship the Old gods, the Old gods can controll them.
As someone who never really liked Leliana in DAO its been interesting to see how much of a staple shes become. My issue with her was not one of personality but i just preferred to use the other rogue companions more often than not.
Couldn't she just be a spirit that possesses her dead body? Cole and Wynne both seem to think of themselves more as the person who's body they inhabit than a spirit that inhabits a body. It would certainly explain her message of being gone until needed again.
Here's a wrinkle: the dream is supposed to be about the Warden, right? Except...there was more than one Warden. More than one that Duncan recruited. And Leliana at the very least knows Tabris' mother. Does she know the City Elf as well? Did he or she go on a witch hunt? Now who was the real sole survivor? The Inquisitor, for the purposes of the Trespasser trailer Evelyn Trevelyan. Leliana was not dreaming of the Blight or the Warden but the Inquisitor who saved not just Ferelden but Orlais, the Free Marches, Nevarra, Antiva, Tevinter, her (or his) actions saved all of Thedas. From the Darkspawn. From the Breach. From Corypheus and the possibility of a Sixth Blight (Emprise Du Lion) and the Qunari invasion and beyond.
In my first playthrough I romanced her , and despite her being in love with me, she tried to kill me over some relic. Not a monster but the betrayal was real.
I can never kill her and I always make her Divine...
Same. It's so sad to see here hardened in Inquisition.
One of the best characters of this sage.

Press x to doubt 😑

I've never heard the theory that Leliana is a descendant of Andraste but I like it. It makes it even more fitting that I made her Divine.

Good theory on Sandal!
Also, her maternal line may be from Andraste, but her father's line may have its own deal

I think she is related to andraste somehow. Both were redheads and well the lyrium ghost...

It's Because "By My Will All Things Are Sundered, Balance in all things"
Trust me. Its the core truth.
:/ wondered about the possibility, but I think it will be very unlikely to be touched upon into the next game.
