I started watching with season 5x01 and I was immediately hooked. I thought Matt Smith's first real episode was the best way to introduce a doctor. The 11th Doctor is very quirky and endearing and wanting to find out what happened to little Amy hooks the viewer. Like, everyone's favorite doctor is Tennant (or tumblr's favorite doctor) so I had to go back and watch the series from the beginning, but idk if I would've stuck with the show if I'd initially started at season 1. I lowkey just googled when to start Doctor Who and the first link said season 5 and I didn't question it. (I'm also American so I don't know anyone to tell me where to start). Anyway, great video!

But seriously I started my parents with Donna episodes. I’m not exactly sure which but Donna was for sure my mom’s first companion and who she associates with Doctor Who.
Incorrect! The best episode to start with is of course the Power of the Doctor as that is a really stand alone episode with minimal connections to previous characters and stories 🤡. In all seriousness though, I think best story to get someone into new who is probably Dalek, Father’s Day or The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
