Excellent Video! I'm not sure how the title sequence can be fixed. There are issues with the logo. The audio doesn't really pace well. It's not good. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought this!

But YES YES the latest titles do indeed feel like noise when the names start. It's like there are two dueling, different themes perhaps as if the sequence is fighting its very self, rather than moving us along, if that makes sense. Also, I loved the energy effect idea from the lamp, it was visually beautiful, I wish it could have stayed. It was also really lazy to me that went back to the old logo (probably as they still have copyright of it, vs. a new logo they'd have to theoretically pay someone for, though a million fans would have designed something new but good for NOTHING besides the line in their resume so....).

Season 7B is my favorite of the modern title sequences, I guess I have no taste, lol. But then, I also liked the "Trial of a Timelord" version of the theme, so yeah I guess I really do have no taste.

I appreciate that Moffat has enough pull to influence things like the title sequence, because not only do I no longer trust RTD, but because it means there's still someone in the production team who can and will stand up to him; what _that_ means is that there's still hope for Doctor Who, even if it's incredibly minor, and "Boom" proved that Moffat still has what it takes to write episodes that are leagues above RTD's.

7:03 A great example of this comes from Dark Water, where the use of the Cyberman leitmotif makes viewers pay attention to the 3W logo on a set of double doors; without it, you'd probably just see the doors and think nothing of them, but the moment the music kicks in is when you realise that the doors actually have a significance.

I did an experiment recently playing about with a couple of TH-cam tabs (which was a bit fiddly), where I played the 60th Anniversary Title Sequence (on mute) alongside an (unmuted) modernised remix of the 5th Doctor-era Doctor Who theme and found it actually worked really well paired up with the titles... Also, earlier coincidently, just for fun and being a bit silly, I did the same experiment, pairing up a McCoy/Smith remix of the combined theme tunes to one of classic Sailor Moon's title Sequences, which also worked as well, which was so epic and it was so funny, as the music really matched with it.

in the very first doctor who opening, at around 1:09 in this video when the logo pops in, my brain can recognize the word "doctor" but at a certain point the bottom word gets scanned as "Ohio" because of the mirroring

The titles are the least of the problems for this show at the moment. It's fucking dogshit and on the verge of being cancelled.

Another aspect of the intro that is a miss for me is that the animations aren't smooth. The whole intro looks choppy and cheap, as if someone doing graphic design made the intro for an assignment. The TARDIS looks so wonky and the flying looks very fake. The names of the actors don't have the best transitions either, and, of course, the logo's transition is just bad.

Does the title sequence really warrant this much analysis? It's a 30s intro...

It hit me that the deleted shot possibly provided the same purpose as the Tardis panoramic shot from the first RTD era intro.

I feel like the intro should hype up the cast, and when the doctor who logo appears, it's badass. The new one there's no build up or punch, it's just " Cast.. title. Here you go"

My biggest complaint is that iconic music notes don't add up to the titles of the actors and the logo. Biggest fumble in history.

Subjectively it's Barbie Diamond Castle, but objectively thinking I think Barbie Swan Lake is a masterpiece, the classiest Barbie movie. The music, the plot, the characters and the whole development of a character is just amazing.

One thing I've also noticed, which was fine in Tennant's intro but neither of Gatwa's, is the awkward momentum of Gatwa's name. As it flies toward the viewer it suddenly speeds up, which is rather jarring. This is not the case in Tennant's 60th anniversary intro.. so I am unsure why they made the decision to change it.

A big name logo at the start for the 15ths doctor isn't enough is wild, the build-up is for the Doctor logo as well. imo theres nothing wrong with the new intro, analysing the intro down to the atoms means youll 100% find something youll get annoyed at, try to not do that and just expect something new compared to the previous ones as the music is VERY good and similar to moffits era. Btw the intro to the 60th anniversary and space babies is different, the part where it zooms in on the tardis changes just to the camera following into the vortex which is 100% better.

A major gripe I have with the new sequence is that IT’S NOT ALL ONE SHOT.

Also, the intro Music is shortened.

I LOVE the way the strings kick in for the RTD era. It gives an air of danger and menace.
