I wish I could have seen and heard more here! I was very happily married to a man of Hungarian descent for 35 years. He taught me about the cooking, traditional music, and culture of his grandparents. I loved cooking up chicken paprikás and gulyás (always nice and spicy!) for him. What I miss is Hungarian restaurants. They are very rare everywhere today.
I looked at that title without my glasses on and thought it said "The History of Harrison Ford in Cleveland" and thought to myself, "Aw, poor guy". LOL #herewego
They temporarily closed and opened up a ghost kitchen on Buckeye Avenue inside of St. Elizabeth’s Hungarian Church until their new restaurant location opened I think in Bainbridge and they finally opened it last year. The pandemic and the fact that Coral Company that owns Shaker Square was going through foreclosure made a lot of businesses at the Square close and get up out of there. Erica from the Balaton no longer works at the restaurant-she went and got another job and now only Christina and George run it.
My only complaint about these segments is that they aren’t long enough. The topics are always very interesting, but way too short!

I am half Hungarian and would love to see authentic Hungarian Goulash done. Love your shows.
Good information, nice history lesson.
I can't wait until next week when we hear the history of Mongolian food in Yuma, AZ.

😂
I wish it was longer and more detailed. I don't know anything about Hungarian cooking but the few dishes I have had were delicious.
Didnt know Hungarians were so ingrained in Cleveland
jó étvágyat!
Apam magyar volt. I am definitely going to be visiting that restaurant.

Balaton went out of business ago :(
No, they moved to Shaker Square and now are out in Chagrin Falls. Since the move to Chagrin Falls, the business is booming.
