almost teared up when he was talking about how no one truly owns the car, they're just caretakers. complete and utter respect for the vehicle and it's heritage, beautiful video, beautiful thought process. what a wonderful car.
@@NoPrivateProperty yeah, not too many cliches used here huh? "Caretakers/has it's own soul/ like slipping on a glove/aircraft on wheels" etc.🙄 And why do you always need driving-gloves to drive a sportscar on the street? Oh yeah, "driving is like therapy".
sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I love any help you can give me.
That opening gave me chills. Driving is a therapy. Everything fades away in a sports car on a twisty road. Superb production as always. Never disappoints !
my ride has been broken down for the past four months and i've never been more depressed in my life...if i could just hear that exhaust note as i crank it up on a cold morning it would make all my woes disappear instantly
Great seeing that the owner drives it a lot, even in the rain/snow. Many "owners" who own cars like those could learn from this, it's not just about the value of a car.
That is all true and I see it similarly, though not everybody wants to drive their million dollar baby in the winter and not every owner of an old, pristine and really valuable wants to deal with constant damage repair from salt. Even if someone had the money to do that I can understand owners that drive such valuables only in dry conditions. If I had a car that is worth millions I surely wouldn't drive it in snowy conditions. I would buy another car for that.
They do! Right now Jaguar is building the 9 XKSS that have been lost in a fire in the Browns Lane factory in 1957. They are rebuilds of the original XKSS, 100% correct in every detail.
I'm not a vintage car guy... but with such intimate dialogue, captivating cinematography, and soothing audio... how can one not be moved? I felt as though I were there. Bravo.
@Sly4Family - Give yourself time, I'll bet you will develop an interest in Vintage vehicles. I say that because I didn't have much use for "the old cars" until I aged and realized these cars have a beauty and history all of their own. The racers of today wouldn't be possible without cars like the D-Type Jaguar laying the groundwork for them. The Vintage cars (and drivers) were a different breed from a very different time. Unlike today, they weren't motivated by money, just the burning desire to compete and hopefully win. They were pure in the truest sense!
...I always make sure I have no other things to do or think about before I start any of the movies published by Petrolicious. I then use full-screen and sit back and enjoy the movie; well done once again Petrolicious. I have watched many of your movies over and over again!
It’s amazing to me that the most quoted saying by Enzo was the Jag was the most beautiful automobile he ever saw and I think any true car guy would have to agree ❗️🇺🇸
172mph from a 3.8ltr straight 6 normally aspirated carb engine in 1954! That's amazing. Any car manufacturer would be hard pushed to get those figures today! What a car........
Petrolicious returns to what makes these films timely and well crafted. EVERYTHING is right in this one, thanks for keeping this car on the road and shown mate!
Unbelievable, nearly perfect in design. From the perfectly placed curve to the flawless stitching, how that hat stays on his head poking above that wind screen is beyond comprehendible.
The Le Mans racing/winning D-Type has been my ultimate dream car since few years. It raced in the most beautiful race in the world in the most magical era of motor racing. Great to see the owner know the historical significance of this machine and yet he enjoys driving it a lot. He seems to be a true enthusiast with big love for great cars.
I like the way this guy drives the car in all types of weather and is not afraid to put miles on it. He pretty much said he owes it to the people who like to look at these cars - to show them the car. Class act!
Wonderful owner. I'm a 30 year old Aussie, never seen a D-Type in the flesh but it's my favorite car ever. Thanks for taking care of it Terry, I really appreciate it.
Great to hear from a true ambassador for the ownership of iconic cars who drives and shows them what they are built for not stashed and never ran good stuff sir hats off to you 😊👍
If I could give two Likes then I would. Outstanding production Petrolicious! Not just any D-Type but THAT D-Type. Lots of engine noise, a great road and a respectful 'owner' (caretaker) whose passion for the brand oozes through. Just bloody brilliant.

Petrolicious, I commend you for your amazing works. Your videos are so well done. As a feign for this level of work for this level of cars, I feel moved by your videos to keep this kind of passion alive. The video you did with Dave S and his 240z motivated me to buy one having never seen or driven one before. Since buying it two years ago, I have picked up another 240z and drive the absolute heck out of them. Anyways, I just wanted to thank you Petrolicious! You, these people, and these cars are truely inspiring.
Brilliant video- thanks! The car is obviously the star; but everything else is superb: The direction, photography, editing and text all contribute to a video that I can watch again- and again.
Lovely to see the owners respect for his role as custodian of a piece of motor racing history. As for the car, it’s the nearest thing on four wheels to a Supermarine Spitfire. Just fabulous!
I can imagine the drier of some other car at LeMans seeing the D-Type and saying, "If this is a beauty contest, we just lost". Truly one of the best examples of form following function

If you've ever had any interaction with Terry you'll understand. He's a very "serious" individual. I was ordering parts from him once for a D-Type I was working on. Got off the phone and said to a co-worker "did someone just drown his puppy". Great guy, but a little dour.

Lt Mojo Risin True. and he also maintains it pretty well. Looks and sounds good
Agreed. He also seems very humble about owning a piece of automotive history, which is always something to be appreciated.
Indeed. Very wise words at circa 07:50.
Salt is just hell on old cars. It never sleeps . Once you get it on the car It's hard to get it all off without taking everything apart.
