Even with LG's brightness/overheating problems, they managed to make 2K look good, so imagine what a Samsung 2K screen on only a 5.1" display will look. Pretty damn good.

Dot View Case 2.0 definitely a big step from the first iteration. Love the extra features and actions you can do with it now. I think it is super neat. Great Video!
Reasons To Get S6 over M9: - Better Camera, Samsung always has the best. Take the Note 4 for example. Nothing can beat it. Not even the Iphone 6. HTCs new M9 doesn't even have OIS. - Better Screen, Samsung always makes the screens of the year as well. Samsung had the best screen last year with the S5 until the note 4 came out. Its so bright and colors look the best on it. - Quad HD, like on my other statement. They have the best screens and with QHD it's gonna he even better. - Build Quality/Design, the S6 is a huge improvement from the S5. And the design IMO is much better the The HTC M8.5, The HTC ones have gotten uglier and uglier. The M7 was the best looking. And the M9 is just strait ugly. - OS, Touchwiz has also gotten better and gotten rid of ALOT of bloatware and its very very smooth now. Sense has not changed at all. It looks very Boring and IceCream Sandwichy. - Wireless Charging is another added Bonus and The M9 doesn't have it. - More Feature's. Multi Tasking and all the other useful features will be much better on The S6 than on the M9 which doesn't even have really any. Only thing I see HTC having is an SD slot. And we can't say bigger battery cuz battery size doesn't determine how long a battery is. Look at the IPhone. It has a small battery and lost longer then some phones with big battery's.
Great job HTC. I loved the dot view case for the m8, but my only problem with it was it didn't have a snug fit. This new case wants me to get the m9 even more
To answer the questions , it uses the same battery because it would be the same ad you turning the screen on. It wouldn't really change the battery life because you would still need to turn on the screen if you wanted to watch the time or battery
I'm not a big case guy either (I use a tempered glass screen protector on my Droid Turbo but leave the blue ballistic back naked) but at least HTC is making an attempt to make it interactive and fun to some degree. Thanks ***** !
My m8 broke a few months ago and got the note 4. Don't get me wrong I love the note. But I miss my htc and I like how everything flowed in the m8. Everything from the look to how everything was organized and displayed.
he showed you.. you can flip it completely back and this time it's not shaky like the one for m8. with Dot view 1, using the phone placed on a table with flip cover flipped around, it was harder to type in. It's not the case now.

I really like this review as I do all of your videos. I saw a quick review early on about the case when MWC was going on, and clearly the reviewer didn't know what they were talking about, because the part where you clearly explained the drawing and tracing, well, this person thought it was a game and made it seem like it was useless.
Bro you should make a video about what your phones look like after you take off the decals to sell or trade. I say this because people have a big perception of decals leaving unremovable residue or worst scratches. Keep up the good work
Very clever, I like it. I have a Note 4 with a Samsung flip case as do all my phones. Having to use a phone with scratches, preventable damage is a mega no no for me. Love the clear plastic back with the HTC case, clearly provides better grip than slippery metal. Worth the effort HTC has taken with this case.
I have the Dot View 1 case and the only drawback to it was if you put on a clear screensaver over phone screen it doesn't function as well. For example I can barely swipe to answer calls through the case. Do you know if this was improved on new case?
What about protecting the phone? How well does the case protect the phone? These style of cases in my experience normally "flip" open when dropped so your screen is exposed to the concrete.
All of those themes were also on the m8 dot case. It's nothing new they've had that since the case came out. But most of the other features shown are new.
Please Mkbhd if you have any sort of free time in your schedule, do a review of those Yamaha monitors and how they compare to your prior a2's. At least mention them in an upcoming video briefly talking about them. Thanks for reading this! Keep making insanely great tech videos.
Marques, when you tapped the HTC portion of the cover to turn on the display it raised a question in my head. Is there a way to limit the area of which you can tap to activate the display to just that area of the panel beneath the HTC logo rectangle? If not, do you reckon it is doable with a decent background in programming?
Very cool, but I don't know if I like this. It seems like another gadget to drain a few percentage off of the battery. I'm a big fan of the S View. I think that's a bit of a better experience. The Dot Breaker game however, that's dope.

I'm not big into cases either, but once I get my One M9 I'll be getting this with it. I probably won't keep it on the phone full time but it'll be great for when I go on road trips or go to school. I drop my phone a lot at school for some reason.
I bought the original for the M8 Dot View case and absolutely hated it, now that the case has some neat features I am actually gonna use it. Can't wait until Dot View app updates for the M8
Thank god they fixed the case a bit! I had two of them for the m8, both broke within the first 6 months of owning my phone. Still don't care for having to hold it open at a weird angle though. Makes taking photos a pain.

Hi, Your flip cover is transparent on back side as well as dot view in front side. I tried to buy this type of case but i am unable to find it online on amazon or ebay. Dot view seems pointless on an lcd, the whole screen is still on. Correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't any discernable battery saving. The backlight which is the biggest battery drain is still on. It'd be useful on oled though
Do you think flip covers with magnets in them can actually harm the phone or do any damage to it? I know it sounds stupid, but one of my older phones went nuts when it came close to a magnet. (A fridge magnet, if I'm being specific).
AMOLED screens are gorgeous and is the GS6 main advantage IMO not the pixel count. I think the M9 will be my choice though. I need to get both in my hands before my final decision.

The dot view case is probably one of the best if not THE best smartphone accessory available. Sadly I still own an HTC one M7. Great video though!

Dot view seems pointless on an lcd, the whole screen is still on. Correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't any discernable battery saving. The backlight which is the biggest battery drain is still on.

It's certainly more play than function, it seems, but this is a pretty neat and unique case idea! I like.
Do you think flip covers with magnets in them can actually harm the phone or do any damage to it?
I know it sounds stupid, but one of my older phones went nuts when it came close to a magnet. (A fridge magnet, if I'm being specific).
the magnet aint massive and its protected so only tye force works. but idk for me i keep going smooth

Yes!! I can't live without my m8 dot case! Definitely getting the m9 :D
AMOLED screens are gorgeous and is the GS6 main advantage IMO not the pixel count. I think the M9 will be my choice though. I need to get both in my hands before my final decision.
