I went through a similar transition about a year ago. I grew my hair out to lower back length. It made little difference to my overall look. Longer hair is associated with rock bands, bohemian lifestyles and a carefree attitude. Shorter hair is associated with maturity, normality, and consistency. Now I'm looking for something in between. I think the guy in the video looked good with either hairstyle. It made little difference on him or his outward portrayal of what he wanted to be. It's all down to who you are and not your outward appearance. If you can grow your hair out then I would recommend to at least try it once in your life. If you prefer shorter hair than stick with what is comfortable. Either way the hair is only a minor part of who you are.

Started growing my hair in 2013 it’s 2020 and I still have long hair. I Want to cut it but feel so hesitant being that my hair looks nice when free But I ALWAYS have it in a bun. I have long hair, but maybe I should cut it shorter too lol... The only thing I'm worried about is that I'd have to use hair gel every day, after an hour my hair would look horrible, puffy, each hair strand shaping up randomly, wind messing it up even more, sweat turning it into a complete hobo nest etc. Would be pretty hard to upkeep good looks. Meanwhile, having long hair is easy - just take a hairtie and tie your hair in a manbun, done
