I'm excited to watch this. A family member gave me 5 silver dime rolls about 15 years ago when I was a kid. I rediscovered them yesterday and went through them for the first time. The coolest thing was a very worn barber dime from 1914. Other than that it was a slight majority of mercury dimes and the rest were silver roosevelts. A few of them had something weird about them and I'm still trying to determine if they're errors or not.
You honestly need to make this a regular series. This is fun. Also I called the Canadian coin Hunt because that’s what we have to do to get all the coins here because of the alloy reclamation program the mint does. Which is slowly taking pre-2001 coins out of circulation
As a UK resident I’m fascinated by the idea that these really old coins are still in circulation. Our old currency became obsolete when decimalisation happened.
Oldest coin that I ever found in a roll was an 1892. It had a mint mark so either an O or a S. It was too worn to tell which. I found it in 1962 at a small bank. I would say that it probably was in circulation for 70 years! It was the only Barber coin of any demonination that I ever found.
Great video! Love your enthusiasm! Last Friday, I sorted through 20,000 silver Roosevelts to separate the culls from the uncirculated ones. Found a few clad's and even some mercurys!
My mother was managing a restaurant. She gave her cashier rolls of coins for the register. When they opened the roll of dimes they called my mom over, and told her there was something wrong with the dimes. It was a full roll of silver. She pulled them, gave the cashier a new roll, which also turned out to be all silver. The third roll was not silver. This was about 1984, I think.
That's always fun. I was a clerk at a grocery store in 1997 and people paid with rolls of silver. Spent a lot of time educating other cashiers about collecting. It's good practice to drop rolls on the scale.
Short and sweet, but you said it might be on your last video. But still awesome. I stack wing liberty head dimes for that same reason, you don’t have to look hard at the dates of the really close ones. Even though the Roosevelt dimes have more meat to them. Looking forward to part 4. 👍
A few months back, I picked up $200 in customer wrapped quarters....first roll had 10 pennies, I ended up having the last laugh, turned out to be a double die collection dump, scored 9 coins total 2 being the DDO and DDR Bicentennials
I feel your pain. Found some errors like die cracks and chips. I am just starting but think I am going to try to sell 4 rolls of die chips for about $75 a roll. Maybe higher but hard for me to judge as I am just starting. Takes forever to go through a box if you are really looking at each coin for errors, probably not worth the effort
Your dime that has the copper showing through on both sides is known as a "Lamination Error", great find, it certainly is a more extreme example than I've seen, not sure what it's worth but you may want to check into it.
Can someone tell me if these slightly off center strikes are worth anything? Im new at this and dont want to start saving them if there not. I got 3 yesterday.
I got 5 rolls at a flea market for FV a few years back. Every roll was nothing but unc. Mercury's with a clad Roosevelt on each end. I still don't understand why someone would do that though.
Hey I have an idea about why Canadian coins are regularly defaced. People sorting coins like ourselves may feel that damaged or defaced coins are removed from circulation quicker. I don't think those scratches will do it but I can see how collectors searching rolls that have no interest in Canadian coins may may feel this will reduce future Canadian finds...
You know I’m all about the process of the hunt and I like to explain what I’m doing and what I’m looking for. I also like to try and tell a story if I can so that the video isn’t just fixated on my finds because finds are great, but they don’t mean a whole lot unless you give them some context. That’s how I look at it anyway
I got a 1853 dime , seated with arrows , no mint mark it looks awesome. I also have a 1942 liberty dime , no mint mark, looks good. Does anyone know anything about them? Any good
I've gotten penny in my nickel rolls that are fed wrapped. Now that is a penny in a nickel roll not a dime but fed rolls do contain penny in other dominations
Is there someway I could contact you Quin? I have some old coins I would like to find out about and share with you. No one around where I live in a small town knows anything about coins and I don't know who else I could contact. I have actually Googled a few and emailed a couple but no replies... Please get in touch with me. Thank you
It makes no sense why people rip the coin rolls all you have to do is put your finger in there and pop them out and then you can reuse the coin roll.... LOL every coin TH-camr rips the roll....
What you are doing in the year 2023 I was doing in the 60s. This is a major waste of time. You should stick to buying lotto tickets. The odds are much better.
He's swapping money for the same amount of money at least. Usually makes money on the coins worth a little more than face. Lotto you mostly lose you're money And rarely win and you mostly just win the price of the ticket
Rip the leader of the monarchy that raped and pillaged entire continents and married a real creep with links to Epstein. Yeah rip to her racist ass . She's roasting right now for sure, kicking it with Hitler and Pol Pot.
Don't forget to look for the 1982 no mint mark dime. Those are worth way more than silver.
Big like number 610 my friend! Thank you so much for sharing! Excellent video!

@Tele-gram: @Quinscoins pleas don’t do that

I find more old dimes in change. Another fine hunt series. Be blessed.
Interesting! I have never gotten one back in change before but they sure would be nice! 😄 and thank you!
Fabulous! Rewatching now and thank you so much for sharing!
1970 Proof style Reverse FS -901 Deep grooves in torch at top left hand side of flame is a good to look for. ..Happy hunting, enjoyed the hunt

What's a barber coin?

oh well, coin hunting can sometimes be a long lonely journey

Quins coins that destroyed dime i have one too😊
I'm looking forward to the return of the Ultimate Coin Hunt!
When is the dime album starting?
Short and sweet, but you said it might be on your last video. But still awesome.

Wheat Pennies dated 1929, 1944, 1945, 1952, 1953, 1957 and 1958. Are these good/keepers??? I'm a newbie.
Surprised on the blue stack that you did not keep the dryer damaged dime (18:25) along with the road rash dime (18:40).
Quin ! You Rock !!👌😁👍
My great Grandpa was a coin collector and had a 1859 Canadian Large Cent and that was the oldest coin he had
Great-grandpa was a coin collector and only had a coin from 1859?
I have ones are much order
@@justinshoats6989 he had older, those are just the ones in my collection. He had a whole album of walkers too.
A few months back, I picked up $200 in customer wrapped quarters....first roll had 10 pennies, I ended up having the last laugh, turned out to be a double die collection dump, scored 9 coins total 2 being the DDO and DDR Bicentennials
Ahhh some funky coins....;)))
I have Hunted 4 full boxes of dimes lately and found nothing. Not even foreigns. Not sure they are worth the time. This series is a cool idea though.

I got 2 Canadian nickels, man are they small 1912 and a 1917 I wonder if they get caught up in the dime rolls ever
Your dime got switched into your penny role in the first part of this series
You did find a dime in the penny rolls. Wonder if it was yellow bank also.
Well that basically cancels out then lol.
That super damage one looks like it was struck in a escalator 😂👍✌️
Honestly, every coin is a keeper. You can't make a dollar without a penny.
Your dime that has the copper showing through on both sides is known as a "Lamination Error", great find, it certainly is a more extreme example than I've seen, not sure what it's worth but you may want to check into it.
Who do you Recommend
in northern Michigan for giving prices I'm in Crystal Mountian area. Thanks great show as always.
안녕 친구.
영상 잘보고 화이팅 하고 갑니다.
nice fun series...ThankYou
Reminder.. you haven’t lost money!! You earned 0.9 cents on your penny rolls when you got a dime in a penny roll! So you’ve broke even!😮
Can someone tell me if these slightly off center strikes are worth anything? Im new at this and dont want to start saving them if there not. I got 3 yesterday.
‘77 would have been the Queen’s silver jubilee
I will definitely not be asking the bank for dime rolls. 🙂
How can I send some coin pics for your opinion about grading on them
Thought you would at least find some 2009 dimes
Wow some dime time! Hopefully you find some silver and good luck! I actually just got a Nintendo 64, and I’m curious, what’s ur favorite game console?
I hope you checked for other stuff. I found a 1996 W, by checking dates and mint marks.
I have a 2022 P dime that has serious Double stamped....
I got 5 rolls at a flea market for FV a few years back. Every roll was nothing but unc. Mercury's with a clad Roosevelt on each end. I still don't understand why someone would do that though.
How do you get the rolls?
The dime with the copper spot looked like a lamination error
I cant think of a better way to spend a Sunday night while sick. Laying In bed under 3 blankets. Big cup of ice water. And watching coin hunting.
I hope you are feeling better soon!
YEAH, YOUR RIGHT THERE, I FIND ALOT OF OFF CENTER DIMES, I ALSO HAVE A FEW VERY INTERESTING ONE'S.

How did you make a 28 Min Long video and didnt even find silver man Lol..... Kind of funny

Railroad track maybe for distortion
Great hunt bro. Thanks for sharing.
no silver so not great lol
The one Canadian per roll I'd guess to be a crh dump rolls
If you get a roll of coins, let's say quarters, and find a mismatch denomination - say a penny - will the bank correct the error or are you screwed?
Ho do i tell between a proof or a regular
That's a popular variety of dime called the Freddy Krueger @22:10. Surprised you didn't know that!
I've gotten penny in my nickel rolls that are fed wrapped. Now that is a penny in a nickel roll not a dime but fed rolls do contain penny in other dominations
I have a nickel that looks like a penny or is the same color as a penny but when I try googling these things I can't really find anything sadly
that 65 looks like it was in a fire
Aww man Ryan, Gutted, no silver canidian.

what about w dimes
I bet that penny took the place of a silver dime the person found in there before. He cheaped out. Lol
Hi Quinn I’m a big fan please respond if you see?!?!?!
First!
To be fair, you did get one dime in the pennies.
Ok the 1922 d peace dollar
R you buying rare
Dime time....
Don't waste your time with dimes and quarters. This video is the same as my experience looking through dimes in 1974.(50 years ago.)
Why's the video like that
She needs to start a collection of really messed up and damaging coins
My grandma found me a merc on top of a gum all machine 😂
It makes no sense why people rip the coin rolls all you have to do is put your finger in there and pop them out and then you can reuse the coin roll.... LOL every coin TH-camr rips the roll....
👍
Dimes suck. I find more silver hunting nickels then dimes .
