Brilliant Steve! That's the very culvert I sent you a picture of January '23. It's always been a bit treacherous in January when I've been but next time I visit I'm going up there. Here's to us Culverteers!!
Shiver me timbers Steve, that Culvert was defo shivering your timbers ! There are 2 or 3 more almost identical villages along that coastal section with Becks running in to them but I dont recall any other culverts like that one. I wandered in there a time or two but wasnt on alert like you always are so I missed the side adit, wooden roof and the Rat Trap !
Thanks Rich. I first found out about this before I even made videos. I was gonna do this last year, but the week I went away, someone uploaded their own vid lol! It was my turn this time. But on the whole, yes I do spend a lot of time looking for places to stick my hooter into. Most time is usually spent looking at old maps, but it isn’t a chore, because I love it. A fascinating video Steve, This really is a beautiful place. Those alleyways are like mazes, you would forget where you lived after one too many! The culvert is truly amazing. The size of those stones, all laid without the help of any machinery. There is tons and tons of it. I wonder how far it had to be transported? This was a really enjoyable explore...😃👍🏻
Thank you Eddie. Some of the stones are really big. They would’ve been difficult to shift. I would not be surprised in the slightest if the oldest parts of that culvert go back to doomsday times, I really wouldn’t.

@@LeiceExplore I've been to Robin Hoods Bay a few times and spent many happy hours in that pub. Also used to go fossil hunting on the beach to the south where I found plenty of crinoids and small bivalves. Will have to go back there one day, and this time have a look up that culvert myself.
