CRAZY DAY IN THE AMAZON! Our local guide took us out on a boat down the Amazon River in Peru, then we turned into the flooded forest where he used a machete to chop a trail from our boat. Once on foot, we explored the region that Otorongo Expeditions are working to turn into a Reserve. We drank jungle beer, ate armored catfish, hydrated with a vine, found fossils in a creek, and eventually crashed our drone…..

The boat ride through the flooded forest looked amazing!! Those armored catfish were so cool! Love the wildlife (especially the poison dart frogs and gorgeous butterflies)!!! Amazing trip!!

my dad and uncle took a boat trip down the Amazon over 20 years ago it was pretty rugged and most kids were naked or covered in cloth or leaves. 😎

It would be cool if you guys went on trips around the USA and compared them to places you've seen. Like this place compared to the temperate rainforest in Oregon. Or the Tucson Saguaro Desert compared to the Sahara Desert!

Kara is one beautiful super trooper.
Again, your safety should be your number one concern! Going through a jungle with a sleeveless shirt is a bad idea! The less exposed skin the better. Take a tip from your guide. He was not wearing shorts and even had for most of the trip a long sleeved shirt! I hope you recovered easily from that rash.
Even huge trees are covered in spikes! I can imagine leaves being similar to stinging nettles~
