    Wow! Thanks. I was so frustrated with the system I was ready to return it. JBL owes you - your instructions are by far clearer than anything they put out. And to top it off, as you point out, the UI is counterintuitive. Thank you so much!!!

    Dude, you are a life saver. I also couldn't get BT audio. I spent hours reading the manual over and over and looking at different YT videos. You are the only one that helped. I bought this from an Amazon return site local to me for $335 as an "open box" item.

      Aaron, or anyone else on here could you please help with a bluetooth problem with my Eon one MK2. My problem is there is a delay, when I press play the audio doesnt sound and I lose the first 3 secs of any audio tracks from apps, spotify, amazon music, youtube etc. It's the same on multiple devices too, inc my Samsumg s20 with Android 13. Is this an issue anyone else has had or is mine faulty? TIA

    Hi this is really interesting.. I just bought the Mk II and experienced exactly the thing you were speaking about.. No sound... I spoke with JBL trying to understand what was seeing.. They claim 2 startling things...1: When you are on a MIC the Mixer adds 32db of gain.. You will see see the channel fader goes to +56 ... 2: I asked how the faders were calibrated... VU - DBu or DBFS ... the answer was at first "I don't know" second "no one has asked that question before" finally dBu... (I'm still not sure they know) Also the input sensitivity is not listed anywhere.. but maybe that's because it changes depending on the level of the sound source... SO you idea of setting Master to 0db (well 0) and adjusting the channel gains accordingly seems to be a sensible way to approach managing the system. ALSO ... I did find that the blue tooth is Low Energy ... (based on blue tooth 3.x) and that as you move your controlling device further from the unit, there is considerable LAG between the faders in the APP and the response from the unit. (By the way this is NOT true for the EON Compaq blue tooth controller) So.. I am interested in your deep dive on the APP and the MK I (or PRX) when you get it done.... Thanks /Sam - Dallas TX

    I appreciate your videos Aaron. I got the JBL EON One MK2 yesterday and spent a couple of hours trying to get the app working reliably. It kept turning the sound off as I tried to initiate the different parameters…even after I dialed in a good sound. Plus the app wouldn’t let my finger move the sliders on my iPhone 12. I’m disappointed in the user interface in general although I love the concept… Going to send it back. Darn! My confidence in its reliability for an easy setup on gigs is too low to chance. I’ll stick with my Bose Pro 32 and T4s. But best luck to all of you JBL folks none-the-less. I know JBL is great sounding gear but not working for me as of yet. Keep up the great video interviews, etc. Aaron!

    I have a JBL Eon One Compact. I need something that puts out more volume, so am looking at the JBL Eon One MK2 (or perhaps the JBL PRX One, though that might be a bit beyond my budget). My question: If I plug my equipment (guitar, mic) into the MK2, is it possible to play through the MK2 **and** the smaller Compact **simultaneously**, using the Pro Connect App? To clarify, can I play my guitar and sing through the two different types of speakers (the MK2 and the Compact) at the same time -- with the Compact being used either as a fallback / stage monitor, or as a bit of supplemental volume to put out more sound alongside the MK2 (or PRX)? I would really love to know whether this is possible or not. I did notice that the Compact has recently been added to the list of compatible devices on the Pro Connect app, but what is unclear is whether or not I can play an instrument plugged into, say, the MK2, and make it so that the sound comes out of both (mk2 and compact) at the same time. Anyone know the answer to this, from experience? Thank you :-)

    Just received both of my prx ones and updated the firmware to 5.1.0 and the app seems to work great compared to what I’ve heard and seen. I wish I could connect to both speakers over Bluetooth, but I’ll be using my audio interface to run them in stereo (or at least I’m hoping that’s how that works lol) from my laptop that will run Rekordbox. I’m really impressed with them so far, I wish the subs had just a tad more resonance if that’s the correct term but they for sure kick good enough and you can hear the bass is present from pretty far away. Also the high frequencies dropping off when crouching or sitting within about 35 feet is killing me. My question is how powerful are the pre-amps? I have the JBL Eon One Pro and while I love it it works best if you are using a sound mixer into it to get real volume. If you just go straight into the channels it doesn't really have good enough pre amps to be as long as the speaker itself can handle. Not even particularly close.

I guess the point is that if you had the old Eon One Pro, the battery powered one, fully maxed on a channel and the main it just wasn't super loud with a shure sm 58. Tks Aaron, I have now purchased a PRX ONE and the learning curve was steep, but I'm up and running. Please let me know when you will have your video on the App. I am having issues with FX and auto feedback (which is not on the App). Also, when I set the unit up outside on my deck, facing the open field behind, and using the anti feedback (adjustment on the unit itself, not the app) the volume didn't seem very hot. Is there a clipping led that would show the level of the input? Lots of stuff... tks for you help on this. BTW, for those who had trouble setting up the app on their tablet, I had to buy a new one that had the updated Android firmware.... then it worked fine.

      Hi Tom, I’m waiting for the app to be where I can fully recommend it before I make any videos. It’s getting there. Anti-feedback is in the app. There is a clipping LED on the unit itself. Great point about the hardware. The more current your tablet/phone is then the better results you will get I would imagine.

      Hi Steve! It’s hard to say without knowing how loud your band likes to play. I would say that two should be fine for 150 people. To have all of the instruments you would need an external mixer. You can not combine the two mixers from the unit. Maybe a small mixer for drums only with everything else into one system and then feed that system out to the other…

      @@aaronshortmusic WE run a 3-piece and I'm thinking this will work fine for some of the smaller gigs we do. What do you mean that you can't combine the two mixers from the unit?

    • @aaronshortmusic
      @aaronshortmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craigw8534 Yes it should be fine for a three piece! What I mean is that when you link the two systems the mixers don’t become one larger mixer. You have to use the mixer from one system and then send that signal to the other speaker.

      @craigw8534 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      An update for you. We used it for our 3- piece ZZ Top tribute and it was perfect! Plenty of headroom, decent low-end (not spectacular, but an extra sub should cover that), and the best part was the setup - quick and easy.
      What was cool is that we were hearing exactly what the crowd was. There was an immediacy to it that I didn't expect, and no worries about "my mix" or what they were hearing out front.
      We'll dial some things in better next time, of course, but I have to say I was impressed. This was an outdoor gig, at Harley dealership on a long patio, and it was more an enough.

    Weird thing about mine. On latest firmware. I can only connect by Bluetooth music pairing, not control pairing. However I can do both streaming and controlling from the app. I have done the bluetooth forget to try to fix with but no luck... On a standard mixer/PA set up, you would never really want to turn the master volume up close to max as it will likely increase the noise floor. I guess the PRX One is quite enough on the last stage that this approach to setting final gain can work

    • @aaronshortmusic
      @aaronshortmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no noticeable noise with the volume at maximum but I know what you mean. Like I said in the video you have to think differently with this system.
