God’s word instructs us to be separate. We are a peculiar people and when others look at us, they should be able to see a difference between us and those that are in the world. Our whole beings should be a witness…a face full of make up and piercings ruins your witness.
Our bodies are the temple of God. Imagine a beautiful house that is white and perfect as it is…then imagine that same house with graffiti on it (make-up) and holes in the windows (piercings)…which house would you prefer? Most importantly, which house do you think God would prefer??

I understand what you’re saying my brother or sister in Christ, but it’s important to refer to what the Bible says:
“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.””
      ‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬
We should follow the Word, rather than the traditions of men. Jesus did not say that the world would recognize us by how much makeup we do or don’t wear. If makeup is causing someone to stumble in their walk, they should not wear it of course. But it is a personal conviction issue between God & that woman. For some, it may be okay. For others, they may benefit by not wearing it.

@@artforchrist5065 But make up is a tradition of men and in the Bible it is closely related to Jezebel, vanity and walking in the flesh…there are several scriptures on this. If we love each other as God loves us, which we are instructed to do in John 13:34 KJV (the scripture directly preceding the scripture you referenced), what would the purpose be for make up? God looks at the heart, not at our outward appearance as indicated in the word of God.
Also, I would ask what’s the purpose of make-up? To enhance outward beauty, to attract men, to get validation from women, to make someone feel better about their appearance?? These are all reasons that go against the word of God.
The Bible speaks about how Jesus wasn’t someone to be desired by outward appearance and how he was holy. So we should follow His example and stop trying to be like the world or “fix” what God made wonderful in His image.

Your responses concerning the matter of cosmetics are devoid of any error. As a Christian man who has been single for a lengthy time, I wish to wed a believer whose facial appearance does not have to be transformed.
If I were to commence a date with a Christian lady whose appearance facially is artificial, then it would be advised to let me see her with a natural look, whether the same day or until a latter day. Hopefully, from that point, she will always appear naturally before my presence, whether she possesses comeliness or not.

I must quality at least some of the content that I recently commented this same day. Perchance, there are some differences I have with you, however its not my intention to divide. Topically, cosmetics can become a source of controversy and even be conducive to legalism. There may be at least one denomination with a belief opposing the application of makeup. I never wish to condemn, nonetheless its my plan to marry a Christian lady whose face can remain natural.

God wouldn't care as long as you had faith in him and lived as such. Jesus was born in the "ghetto" and preached in some "ghettos". Imagine if he didn't because of how it looked. God doesn't prefer things of the world. Also we get glorified bodies when we are taken to heaven. Our "homes" whether damaged or not won't be coming, they will be renewed. Remember many people come to Christ after many things happened that may have "dirtied" their temple, but they too are still able to be saved and have the Lord with them.

Yes! Makeup and jewelry are not bad if you do not make them an idol in your life. If you rely on makeup and jewelry to feel good about yourself, then that’s a problem. But if you use it to accentuate your beauty, then there’s no issue with it :)

You may call me a legalist but the devil is definitely a legalist. And he's always looking for a sinful open door in our lives, like a lion looking to devour.
God's grace isn't a license to do as we choose.
      Peter 3:3-4
3 Do not let your adorning be external-the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear.
4 But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
      Jeremiah 4:30
30 And you, O desolate one, what do you mean that you dress in scarlet, that you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, that you enlarge your eyes with paint? In vain you beautify yourself. Your lovers despise you; they seek your life.

If you are struggling read this~ I know I’m young but I would just like to say that, In 7th grade I was in a very dark place. I couldn’t feel much emotion and I had thoughts of revenge and the other things. But God saved me, He gave me the people in my life and he showed himself to me. Even in my darkest days He was there with me, He never left me. One day while I was in bed I started to pray with my hand go the sky and I felt something holding my hand. At that very moment I knew it was Him. I repent of all of the sins I have committed. I am ready to begin a new life with Him. There is still time go repent love one another and believe in Christ for He will forgive you❤️ He helped me in hard and he will help you too:). Just pray!

Similar counsel is given by the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 3:3-4: “Do not let your adornment be merely outward-arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel-rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight

It’s definitely an idol because you can’t face the camera without. It’s all about YOU! Weave and makeup causes other eyes to lust-simple!
It’s like wearing skin tight clothes and bulging in places that causes lust.
    saiah 53 1
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

I can't speak for all men, but as for me, a black heterosexual natural red-blooded male, I personally think makeup looks good on women. And yes, if I were married, I would definitely want my wife to wear makeup for me lipstick and all so as long as she doesn't overdo it. I would appreciate it if she wore it for me, and I wouldn't mind if she wore it while she was out and about in public because I would think that it looks good on her. I wouldn't be too concerned about her enticing other men while she's out in public with it on because I know that if she's my wife and she truly loves me and dedicated to me as her husband, then that wouldn't be too much of an issue. Just my thoughts.

Yahovah does care about how we present ourselves on the outside because in the Bible, he tells women not to enlarge there eyes with paint and to dress modest.
In fact, the Bible also tells us not to follow the customs of the world.
    Why.
Because Yahovah wanted his followers to be sert apart from the Gentiles, a.k.a. non believers.

The Bible does not explicitly give a 'thou shalt not' regarding makeup, but the principles are clearly present from the Old Testament through the New Testament. In scripture, makeup is never portrayed in a positive light; rather, it is consistently associated with negative connotations. Historically, makeup has roots in ancient Egypt and Babylon-two cultures often symbolizing worldliness in biblical texts, with Egypt frequently representing 'the world.' While the Bible may not directly forbid makeup, the principles found in scripture strongly suggest that it should not be worn.

Jezebel simply wore makeup. . More notably to entice. There is no inherit command in the Bible against makeup. Where would it be, according to you?
The Bible talks about jewlery in good light. Read the Old Testament, truly study and immerse yourself in every particular moment it's mentioned and you'll see most of the time it's for blessing or adornment, even by and for God's people. Paul does not say, (and even then he was speaking to wives), to not do any of these things as they were sin. But what is sin, and even then he does not mention makeup. . But he says do not make it vanity, an idol, a way to entice. . not that these things themselves are inherently bad. Again, read the Old Testament.

The thing about makeup is that it deceives people and it takes away your self-esteem without the makeup
To the point where you can't go to the grocery store without makeup on.
I have long braids on not because I wanted it but because my sister won't take no for an answer but I'm not going to argue with her over some braids I do not want for the sake of keeping the peace.
There's nothing really wrong with wearing jewelry depending on the jewelry
The jewelry that messes up your skin is not good jewelry, for example earrings, even if it's just a little poke
But you're right God does look at the heart. No amount of Basic clothing is going to save you from pride

Some people say no which I respect that but from what I've learned is that since Jesus died on the cross we can (of course if we pray over it). The only rule in the New Testament is don't eat anything strangled, bloody (like rare/medium rare steak), or sacrificed to idols

    • @careline939
      @careline939 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@boikgantsophaka6193 @7SUBHANALLAH7 @justcallmecat263 I think the book of Matthew says it best: Matthew 15:10-20
10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” 13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides.[a] And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16 And he said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?[b] 18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
And also this: “What God has declared clean you must not call common” Acts 10:15
We can eat pork. There are some laws in the Old Testament which we don't have to follow anymore. Laws of purification and all that, because Jesus is our purification. We don't need to follow those purification rituals anymore because His blood wiped that all away. And it's also important to note that the ban on pork was probably because if you don't cook it right, it can make you really sick with worms and other diseases, so God was protecting people. But now we have proper ovens and stuff which allows us to cook it safely - not that that's what justifies it, just a note I wanted to add.
