Like Simon said “I thought PSR would be beneficial but all it was created for really is to protect the cartel”. Game over!! The Premier League can’t even follow its on rules it created FFS
City aren't some plucky underdog
They are in this case. @@creepingbrain
The problem here is the clubs who, having signed up to the rules, fall over backwards to break them.
City lost the argument towards the PSR rules being unlawful and they lost the argument of needing change of the rules. So perhaps you should read up on the outcome instead of a biased take, cause you are tribalised by which club you support.
@@KasperK-su9oz why lying for the judemrnt summary is available to easily refute you.
Of course there's a winner the judge ruled premier league's law unlawful
A 2 line judgement?
Wow
most of the case the prem won , city won a few pointe
Still unlawful mate
You need to aquant yourself of the verdict before spouting off such nonsense
The only winners are the lawyers .
This man started the interview stating that there was no clear winner premier league won some lost some blah blah .. than proceeds to state city won like 43 times throughout the video 😂😂😂
That's cause Borson is a former Man City employee.
@@KasperK-su9oz He left the club either before or just after the take over. Why would he have any allegiance or bias?
@@jamesontanner8769 It is called conflict of interest. To spell it out for you it means that a persons allegiance, former or present, can compromise or affect ones judgement.
@KasperK-su9oz This is a talk show, not a court of law. Conflict of interest isn't a criticism that holds any weight. You make it sound like he sat there and said, "City won the whole thing! The PL is so stupid! Blue Moon!" He didn't, he laid out the facts and proceeded to say that City probably got more out of the decision, but it was fine margins.
@@jamesontanner8769 He left out a lot of facts. There has been a weird understanding that City won the court case, but that is not true. If we actually look at it out of their interest, it could easily be said that they lost, cause they lost their most valuable arguments, that could tip the 130 court case in their favor ie. unlawful PSR rules, unlawful FMV concept and discrimination against. They lost 175 pages out of 190 pages. A verdict 23-2 to the Premier League. So it depends on how you look at it, but City did not gain much from it or what they had hoped to gain at least.
So the PL was told by the 3 judge panel:
- a portion of their APT rules were violations of UK law and therefore deemed illegal
- as a result of this, City have been damaged by these illegal rules
- City will now seek damages along with remuneration for some part of their legal bills
- the PL will have to amend/rewrite portions of the APT rules so they don’t violate UK law.
I’m not saying it’s a slam dunk for City, but given the choice of being either City or the PL at the receiving end of this case, I’d assume many would prefer to be in City’s shoes, no?
Especially with the backing of the uk government and we might laugh at that but see what ole boris did with abramovics chelsea
You support Man City, you view it with sky blue tinted glasses, but actual lawyers has said that this is by no means a win for Man City and that they can't understand this narrative from the media side of things. The Premier League has also officially stated on their website that it is a win for them, not for Manchester City. You need to educate yourself more on the matter instead of having blind trust in a former Manchester City employee on Talksport. Sorry.
the rules are going to be changed so city won on the APT amendements
@KasperK-su9oz city have recently written to all clubs and the PL stating that the statement released by the PL is misleading. Be interesting to see what happens. Does sound like a Man City win.
@@KasperK-su9oz Was there anything that I wrote which was incorrect? Did I say City won the case? I think the answer is no to both questions. And yet you come out and accuse me of looking at the situation through blue tinted glasses?
Perhaps it is you who have the red tinted glasses on as you are clearly projecting what you want to see, as opposed to what I actually wrote.
This is a big loss for the PL. Don't spin this. Who took who to court?
Great 👍🏼 Justice Served❕⚽️🩵🥶
How is it a big loss for the PL? APT was ruled legal and ruled to stay. All city did was force the PL to make minor tweaks such as clubs who got zero interest now have to change it to equity. Not much of a win. All city are doing here is let’s muddy the water and put pressure on. It’s not as if APT has been ruled to be taken down.
Things city lost:
1. Challenge that APT rules are illegal
2. Challenge that design, framework and implementation is unlawful
3. Challenge that the rules are unclear
4. Challenge that PL is discriminating against them
5. Challenge that the rules are unfair
6. Challenge that City should be privy to the data used to evaluate FMV
7. Challenge that two commercial deals should be allowed
Things that city won:
1. Low/zero interest roles from shareholders should be included in the APT rules
2. Burden of proof should be on PL to show if a deal is/is not fair market value (FMV)
3. PL should have been faster in assessing the two commercial deals that were rejected
4. City can resubmit those two deals for reassessment, so PL can follow the proper timescale and procedure regarding communicating the process to City as they go along
@shutthepuck.
@@theach84 How dare you come on here with facts!

Credit to you for making that comment.
Imagine Sheik gives City£ 700mil as a shareholder load and eventually converts it to equity,
The world would freak out, every other club can just do that
What? Any owner of any club, including City, can loan clubs money and can convert to equity if they want to. That's the same for every club. These loans though, of course, don't get counted as revenue for PSR.
Witnesses for the premier league must feel stupid this morning. Losing to City on the pitch as well as off it.

So when are we going to investigate Man Utd for spending billions without winning anything
It's not about winning anything, mate. It's about spending beyond your means. City as a club are spending more than the club is capable of generating. The initial concept of that was to prevent clubs going bankrupt spending money they didn't have. For example, Wimbledon and Leeds 20 years back.
We were wining for years. Our club built its reputation and success lol. Your club bought success and its reputation. Huge difference.
What's that got to do with anything?
@@richardsmith9615but why is it an issue if they actually have the money?? Do you prefer clubs to be run under debt like United?
You don't understand what's going on do you?😂
It's been clear for many years the PL and UEFA have both been against Manchester City. I'm a Stoke fan born and bred, but from merely watching closely, I've seen the spectacular decisions going against City on the field(hence pep making comments about winning alone without help)which are too numerous to mention. They were first fined for FFP breaches around 10 years ago, where UEFA made last minute rules changes that pushed City into trouble after thinking they were clear, then City obviously just thought "enough is enough" and fought back after the "Der Speigel" situation. They were pushed into actually defending themselves, first against UEFA and their hacked and highly questionable "emails", and now the PL with their utterly laughable 115 charges, which have been massively inflated merely for optics. All for one reason and one reason alone, they were a threat to the status quo...the bitterness against them is incredible, when they are clearly the best ran big club in the land. This is KARMA at play now...to the PL and UEFA, stop running the sport like a protectionist racket, and actually allow these clubs/businesses to flourish, before we lose all relevancy to other leagues and the middle east. A free and open market will end up better for football and the fans, not worse. It just means some of the old guard will have to share the trough.
Exactly
Going against them on the field? Absolute waffle if I’ve ever seen it
You are an idiot.
Annoying
Utter diatribe. Saying before we lose relevancy to the Middle East? The same Middle East which is buying the clubs as a form of sports washing and would happily disregard any FFP rules if they could

Did you turn into Real Madrid overnight! 😂
FFP and the PL interpretation of it, PSR, are only around to handicap the Premier League so Real Madrid could put it into practice this Summer and have a clear run at getting Mbappe, on a free!, unchallenged from any ludicrous offer a Manchester City or Newcastle United could persuade him with if FFP wasn't around. Instead of lambasting City, football fans should be calling for these economic restraints to be got rid of, they should only apply to clubs outside of the Premier league. Imagine you won the euromillions but you could only buy a house based on what you earn!! Lol.
Nonsense, city clearly won lol
Premier League could just limit the spending for every club 300m per season and salary cap for 300k a week, no ffp or psr nonsense. I think they dont want to do this because they afraid Man United would get relegated if all club have a level playing field 😂.
I've been saying this , I agree 👍
Well Manchester United made the premiership!
Good to see all the youtube lawyers out in force. Won't even bother to try and say I am an expert, because clearly I am not. However, this whole thing seems like a mess, and if anything it is doing far more damage to the Premier League in the long-term than it is to Man City.

City are not going to be found guilty. I feel sorry for fans who think there going to be relegated. They are here to stay. Whether we like it or not.
If you're allowing one club to receive an interest free loan from their owners, what stops others from doing so?
The majority of clubs of have already taken interest free loans though
Most clubs do it. Any club can do it. It's usually the way owners fund things like building new stadiums, like Tony Bloom at Brighton. They don't just hand over a lump of cash, they loan the club cash and then that loan is either repaid over time or converted to equity.

I find it difficult to find the words to explain myself properly. But I dropped out of following the the top leagues some 4-5 years back now. It is so far removed from us, the spectators and fans that its as if its on another planet. These top dollar litigations, accusations etc. Players that earn in a week (often without having to play) what most spectators will take 10-15 years to earn is just in another stratosphere as far as I'm concerned. Sad nonsense where the game is far beyond its original reason for being. I will confess to still looking at scores, but couldn't tell you very much if at all about team line-ups, games in hand, points totals etc. I know others will love it all, but its left me behind.
Kasper spot on, don’t know why MC fans getting too excited…115 charges separate and still being heard. But MC silly to pick a fight with PL and dish out all these letters…likely to infuriate all concerned and may work against them big time!
This feels like we are on the brink of the floodgates opening. Be careful what you wish for, there's a beauty to a competitive league, we might think it works for our clubs in the short term, but could destroy the competition in the long term
ITS not competitive though.bthats the huge problem. How can you possibly say it's competitive when the big 6 are allowed have massively larger revenues just because they managed to get them before the new rules were brought in. Then you have clubs like Newcastle who aren't allowed get the sponsorship they can realistically get because the prem deem it not fair market value.. but it is for the big 6..
Same with villa, same with Brighton, Everton. Etc they all want to spend but can't and are actually forced to sell players they dont even want to sell. it's beyond ridiculous and staggeringly anti competitive.
No. Laws within an organization have to be meaningful and equitable.
@atourdeforce not sure how being expected to spend within your means and generating legitimate commercial deals is "anti competitive".
The "big 6" myth is its a closed club through financial manipulation. When in reality, its 4 of the biggest commercial entities in terms of fan base and global footprint.
If your club can generate the money legitimately, it can spend it. If it needs to be pumped in through questionable commercial deals its unsustainable
City fans won't be happy until they can crush all competition and win the league for the next 50 years ..which they will if they get their way
If City had their way and there was no cap on spending who do they think would reign supreme in the battle between Abu Dhabis racket and Saudi Arabias?
When has City said they want no rules?
City don't and have never wanted that. They have been operating sustainably for years. All clubs look out for themselves, just as 10 clubs went to the PL asking for further APT restrictions when NUFC were bought.
They just seem to be very concerned about the ones in place aimed at keeping the competition fair. Judging them by their actions and not their words they have found themselves facing 130 charges around navigating these laws and have now tried to go through the courts to have them discredited and discarded.
So what do they want? Do they want the ability to self sponsor beyond market value? Do they want to pay Mancini 1.75 million £ to his off shore bak account for nothing?
What do they want here? Because for a state owned club where money is of no consequence, for the good of the sport you can't allow this stuff.
I get City fans want to be able to do it... kind of anyway. But it's seriously not good that Ciry lawyers can just tie up in knots anyone who tries to stop them.
The problem was the PL wanted City's money in the first place. But City and Newcastle and two examples of state run clubs who are foxes who have been allowed to enter the hen coup.
That's a complete lie..
City haters are so clueless it's unreal, how can you look at the implementation of some of those rules which you have just been told was illegal and convince yourself it was with the aim of 'keeping the competition fair'. I think this is a very naive person or a very dishonest one. Most of the time it's the latter. They often know their club has been lobbying for anti-competitive and unfair(one of the terms used in the decision) rules and restrictions for no other reason than to target/limit a rival and serve their own interest. Not for the good of football, that's always a BS PR line. None of the cartel care about anyone but themselves, they shown that multiple times, starting in the late 80s with the secret PL idea meetings. This collusion and conspiring has all but been confirmed for Newcastle, with some of the findings. There was already a famous letter with an Arsenal letter head on it from 2012 that included a list of clubs that shared their complaints which were obviously aimed at City(but they were far smarter with their wording, no 'gulf states' comment). Cartel club fans are just wilfully ignorant IMO, always trying to paint their club as a the good guys, out to save football, when they know it not to be true at all deep down.

Liverpool, Man U, spurs, and arsenal should all leave the prem! It’s a league for cheats
Liverpool cheats.
Yoonited cheats.
Chelsea cheat
Money talks, if the premiere league bosses don't start thinking about what almost happened with the top 4 going and playing in a European league, this is a warning...money always talk..
Simon sensationalist statements are not helpful, particularly from someone who knows the system.. For example.. his statement about Coka Cola not being allowed to sponsor because of the rules… what utter rubbish… he knows that… it’s all about market value of deals, not whether they allowed at all..
Thankfully Stefan is on the show to apply balanced commentary
Man City not happy with rules that restrict their income(for good reason) so go to court over it as said rules do not stand up to UK law yet, are happy to give player contracts that would never pass in a court of law in any other industry as they'd also be deemed illegal. What a shambolic mess.
When you've lost Simon Jordan...
Who were the witnesses for the premier? Is it true that it was United, Liverpool and Arsenal. I’m no financial expert but for shareholders to give loans to the club with no interest or even no payback sounds dodgy. I’m assuming the above clubs operate in this manner
Totally confused. Will this have any impact on previous points deducted for Sheffield Wednesday for example?
Chansiri tried to inject money in by selling the stadium, bringing in ‘sponsors’ etc, but we got done for it.
The more of Borson that I listen to the less I think that he has a clue what he's talking about. A so called 'FFP expert' wheeled onto Talksport to regurgitate what he's read in this mornings papers 😅
Did you really think the arabs cant afford lawyers to beat the FA. SUCK IT UP CITY CHAMPIONS😂
The other 16 clubs can vote to get rid of these 4 clubs
All of this nonsense, because clubs don't want to agree on a salary cap.
Citeh should be made to give Grealish back at least 😉
You can have him back when his contract runs out
@@madeinengland9488 he ain't getting younger tho 29 now... Should never of left that fackin 100 mil clause
@@Salacious-Crumb you wouldn’t be doing what you are now without it though 🤷♂️
@@madeinengland9488 what you on about ? The 100 mil for Grealish was hardly anything to our rich owners , one owner Nassef Sawiris is the richest man in Egypt worth 9 billion and Wes Edens i worth 3.8 billion ... Villa are one of the richest clubs in the world ... Selling Grealish was gutting for villa fans
@@Salacious-Crumb PSR
Wow even Simon said it... PSR was met to protect the cartel.
The winners in all this could end up being the Championship. The big 7 or 8 clubs in the premier league are either going on their own or will squeeze the premier league for their own TV rights through club subscriptions to stop them having to give money to the other 12.
It is as much a loss as a win, but that does not fit your agenda, so carry on as normal Talksport with your click-bait journalism.
