    To me flow is more like getting in the zone you become confident with your abilities your focus increases and your reactions are increased this happens to me in video games sometimes it comes and goes but you can’t predict when it will come into play

    Lets just call it "Flovibing"
    Wow this is some really good and much needed commentary. I wonder sometimes if I get more pleasure out of actually performing/learning and even inventing tricks and "flowvibing" vs watching a fellow pilot doing all the aforementioned stuff. Hell, I personally love watching other (especially the more experienced friend pilots) rip their packs. That's just me though cause at the end of the day it's simply about having fun hanging out l, and blowing packs. Feel me ?!? Thanks for the awesome conversation bruh.

    Flow State is a result of total engagement in the present moment. Literally anything can be flow. Total engagement in the present moment directs all your energy into that moment, meaning your ability to perform complex thought such as self concept and time fades, allowing for the body to take over. If it demands your attention and you "lose yourself," its flow.
    Video editing can go a long way when it comes to communicating flow state to a viewer - *cough* Johnny *cough*
    I bet racers experience more flow state than us freestyle pilots tbh but there are definitely some true flow pilots out there rippin bandos - *cough* Johnny *cough*

    Flow is a state of mind. You are literally united with a drone. It can be Le Dribish way of flying with that boom suprise or even kinda juicy. I usually try not to think about flow. It just comes from nowhere. But it comes eventually. That is a flow from my perspective.

    • @MaxBeamer

      @@MaxBeamer Recently I started watching more and more old videos of Le Drib and I really enjoy them. Basically, I started flying due to him actually xD His style has this momentum, when a drone flies flies flies and then boom some obstacle he makes some crazy manoeuvre. I like it. And I will try to fly the same, even though I like juicy pilots as well. Your flying is good too mate. Keep rocking! Take care!

    Very well made video on a very important FPV topic 👍
    I started in FPV this summer, just finished building my first APEX, and I'm at the point now where I'm finally starting to figure out how PID settings can affect actual stick feel, especially all of the feed forward stuff. This is definitely something that I will be focusing on now as I'm trying to push my style in the juicy direction. Have a long way to go still but it's an amazing adventure.

    In regular terms flow means being in the moment and not think about stuff. I think that is also true for fpv. It's important to bypass the brain for faster processing time and more intuitive handling of the quad. It's hard to get into tho.

    Yo Max, nice vid! I think it’s pretty common to jack up rates when first getting into the hobby. I know I keep lowering mine lol for that flowy feel. I recon keeping feed forward down helps with smoothness too... if that’s what you’re goin for.

    nice input my dude. Ive been wondering for this for a long time. What do you call that flowy basic move where you just from side to side instead of driving straight. I've been trying to get to that but on my quad it looks like I'm literally just turn its head..looks way less stylish..

    • @MaxBeamer
      @MaxBeamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha it doesn't really have a name but it just takes stick time to get it to look smoother, if the front of the quad is turning side to side too much try adding some more roll when you turn to balance out that yaw movement. or you could do like me and slow the rates down.

    • @j.m.3648
      @j.m.3648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MaxBeamer I had Steeles rates when I first started and that shit was retarded, so I dialed it wayy down. I find it hard to calibrate the timing so it does look smooth. do you yaw first, then roll, or the other way around?
      Do me a favor, if you can remember by then - in your next video, could you give noobs like me a couple of seconds in the video where you do just the side to side movement? I'd greatly appreciate it! Keep up your great content! Love your channel

    Great topic, Max, and a challenging one. You nailed a bunch of good
    points. For me, a key aspect of flow is not actively trying to make
    things look a certain way, but instead practicing to achieve a state of mind and
    proficiency that produces compelling flight without volition. Even
    just noticing when it finally happens is often enough to kill it on the spot ;-)

    Good tips 👍😎 I didn’t like the S3 props because of that super responsive spazzy feel, I liken it to a super responsive race car compared to a luxury sedan, the race car is fun to drive but the average passenger appreciates smooth and comfortable. I guess it depends on what you like to do and who you’re flying for, I just like flying and upload a video every now and then.

    I don’t flow, I just fly radically doing fast tricks in short succession flying low and fast. It may be more risky and might not look as cool from most people’s perspective, but it sure is fun. I don’t wanna fly smooth like a majestic bird, I wanna feel like I’m in a fighter jet. Not really into the more recent popularity in cinematic flights because while they look super cool, I just wanna have fun. Great video nevertheless.

    Tricks is how your quad moves and flow is how you transition from one to another.

    Flow? Combining tricks together are actually called, „combos“.
    How I kill on COD, multiple kills, my combos.
    Look up Taoism, „The Flow“
    Take care 🤓😉😘

      yes indeed. trick combo type flights aren't usually flow friendly like i mentioned with the tony hawk multiplayer example.
