Most of YG groups were discovered and made through YG survival shows with the exceptions of 2NE1 and BLACKPINK because we haven’t seen their process on how they were formed. But yes BIG BANG, AKMU, WINNER, IKON, and TREASURE all came from survival shows either from YG or shows like SUPERSTARK and KPOPSTAR. So it’s nothing new at all for fans who supported YG artists for a long time, we used to it all. The marketing tactics, the cliffhanger results, the “drama”, the whole final members or final number of members switch up.. THAT IS NORMAL FOR YG.
Also, trainee has always been cut throat and hard… lessons/practice for like 9-12 hours a week with monthly evaluations. If you don’t show any progress or don’t stand out you are eliminated as a trainee. If you managed to survive you get to participate or have the opportunity to join a debut project..but there’s no guarantee that you will debut. As the producer said, it’s all about the group chemistry and if they fit together well. It doesn’t matter how naturally talented/gifted you are, if you don’t help elevate your group or have good chemistry with the group.. you most likely won’t get selected to debut. You most likely be good for solo or join a different company. YG doesn’t debut as often like other companies, they take their sweet time in finding the perfect combination and making sure that they are at high skill level individually and as a group. So there will be like a 3-4 year wait for the next group for YG.

What about the other dozen trainees that got eliminated and hundreds of audtioners that did not make it. Ya do know there were other trainees beside these 7 that got eliminated right? Part of every trainees life in every single agency company

We all know the Last Evaluation was simply a marketing ploy. It’s like professional wrestling where the NARRATIVE is preconceived before the show even begins. The narrative being that all the girls are talented but Ahyeon and Chiquita will be the stand outs.
No better evidence of this fabricated narrative than the performances of Gone and Stay. Rora and Haram sang beautifully but YG and staff purposely under minded their effort by redirecting the focus over to their “lack” of stage presence and away from their beautiful vocal performances. Meanwhile , they made a huge fuss over Ahyeon’s Ga-ah-ah-ah-on part all to showcase just how tremendously awesome she is. So contrived. So staged. So fake. Ahyeon was not that great. Even Jennie said Pharita stood out more.
Jennie also highly praised Rora but we all know what happened with that evaluation where Chiquita was the only one singled out.
If you watch all the reactions from other TH-cam channels, almost every reactor thought the Stay performance was excellent but quickly changed their minds upon hearing the criticisms, agreeing that the stage presence was lacking. Do you all not see how EASILY manipulated viewers are?

Umm both stages were amazing in their own way. So there’s no need to theorize as to why STAY to the panel/judges wasn’t well received. Also, Yoon has made it clear that even though the SINGING WAS PERFECT, he didn’t just didn’t see much visually as in performance. Which in my opinion, I agree on..the vocals and rapping was amazing as always, but I rather listen than watch tbh. As opposed to GONE team who knew how to perform well and had good stage presence. You also have to remember that both Ahyeon and Pharita weren’t in the best condition vocal wise..so of course they won’t be at the same level as STAY team, but they still did very well considering their vocal conditions. Also, why I do agree they do have a huge focus on certain members/trainees. I think it doesn’t really matter tbh..it’s up to the fans you know? If you have a bias or a bias line of course you would be mad they don’t get a lot of screen time. My bias line is Ruka, Asa, and Haram and they barely had screen time until the last 3 episodes. Rora is often overlooked, but whenever she sings she is captivating. The fans is what makes the group successful and I’m sure Rora will be getting a lot more attention in the future. It can’t be help if Ahyeon, Chiquita, and even Pharita has a strong fan following.. I think Ruka is quite popular along with Asa..but they fans are not as vocal and loud as the other 3. But don’t worry once BABYMONSTER debuts it will change and I feel all girls will get their time to shine and get recognized. Again it’s up to fans to hype ALL OF THEM UP.. akgaes aka solo fans can’t be helped..they’re going to petty as well as super loud.

I really don't think that you look at this objectively and listening to only the haters. Yes, it is marketing because they didn't have to show any of this prior to their debut. It couldn't have been like BLACKPINK where they just show the dance practice and then introduce the members on stage. But if you want to say that it was to make Chiquita and Ahyeon stand out then you really didn't watch the series with an open mind.
For "Stay" the vocals were good, there was a lot of technique put into it but it felt like there was a couple of things missing. The emotional connection and performance seemed to lack for me. If you listen to them sing "Stay" in the "Behind the Scenes 3" when they were pretty much singing it to each other was the emotion that I was looking for and if they have performed it with that in mind because they want all the members to stay then the outcome would have been a lot different. Jennie mentioned the reason that she cried on stage when they sang this song was because she thought about how far BLACKPINK had come and how the other trainees couldn't survive the training process. The criticism that you are talking about is their seniors that have been on stage and know that if the performance would have been like that actually live then they would receive much harsher criticism from the netizens. For live performances, it is like Jennie said about them not performing to the audience because they all know that it is that important. The "Stay" performance seemed really stiff. Look at the way they were clapping with their mics and then compare that with the performance to "Scars to Your Beatiful." The clapping seemed half-hearted which might have been the reason for the "tired" impression that Lee Suhyun felt.
In Episode 6 - 8, it seemed that Haram stood out more. It actually starts with the "Behind the Scenes 3" when they show that Haram is a boss and not afraid to take on challenges. Ruka was definitely able to shine in Episode 8. The reason that they are fawning over Chiquita is the fact that when this was filmed she was only a part of the group for only 11 months and she is almost on equal footing with the rest of the trainees. Her first monthly evaluation 07/2021 to the last evaluation 05/2022 means that it is impressive for a YG trainee to be able to debut under a year of joining the company. Which makes sense since she was in Red Rose prior to getting accepted as a trainee to YG. She has performance experience before becoming a trainee. Ahyeon, prior to becoming a trainee to YG was already accepted to JYP as a trainee which shows her actual potential. I would stop being an Ahyeon and Chiquita hater and just accept the fact that they are just as important to the group as the rest of the girls.
