Rapper Awal Mohammed has declared himself the Mohammed of rap.
In an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylophone FM, the rapper who once contested in Talented Kids said, “Sarkodie is the Jesus of rap; that’s my… [godfather]. I am the Mohammed of rap as my name goes.”
Awal traces his rap roots from Obrafour, whom he calls the god of rap. According to him, Obrafour gave the mantle to Sarkodie. “In case when [sic] he [Sarkodie] retires, we are the ones to rule the rap music in Ghana.”
Awal made reference to Sarkodie’s line about leaving behind a treatment for rap music when he retired. In the song, Sark said he had signed an agreement with his first born. “We signed agreement on that…that I am treatment for rap music… for future rap music. And that agreement is there.”
Awal went on to say he was better than both Strongman and Medikal who were both doing “school rap.” Awal Mohammed declared himself “way better” than Strongman.
To buttress his position, the rapper has released a diss song dubbed Take it or Leave it addressing both artists. One of his latest songs Yenda.
