I've traveled extensively and you are the first youtuber who actually gives useful but not obvious advice! You are soooooo right! You don't need the "What if's" I have never been anywhere in the world that I couldn't get what I needed. However!!!! The one exception is if you need "What if" medicines, then TAKE THEM with you and keep them with you at all times!!
I do totally agree on medicines. I have a kit that I bring always with me in my bag, even when I'm not travelling. I've actually been somewhere in the world where I couldn't get what I needed and that is Cuba: being an island doesn't help getting supplies in general, plus the embargo... But of course this is just an exception.
Very good video Mary Jean :) I love ultralight packing. Imagine, I've just traveled with my 6 liter tiny backpack for 16 days. And last year I did the same thing for 19 days :) So yes, ultralight packing is possible and very comfortable. It gives me a sense of security at all times. It makes traveling so much easier, too.
@@WhatashameMaryJane Yes, I think I mastered the conception of ultralight packing to the extremities :D Will you beleive me if I tell you that I didn't even use everything I took in terms of clothing :O OMG, that was crazy :D
@@gurusevikadasi108 Wow, really?? You should give me advices then!! To be honest I got to a point where I exaggerated a bit too much and I wished I would have brought more clothes
@@WhatashameMaryJane I think the conception of ultralight packing is not for everyone. It depends a lot on one's personality. I always liked simple and small things, and I was always tend to pack less than others. When I found out about ultralight packing, I immediately knew that this was my thing. I have a collection of tiny backpacks :D And my biggest one is a 24 liter Jack Wolfskin, that seams to be so huge, that I never used it in 4 years. So I keep it really simple, but otherwise I have many things on me that makes me prepared even for some "what ifs".
Very useful video, great minimal packing tips! Have to share this with my family. I think "what if" is the most difficult in our case. Great channel, Mary Jane!
Great videos and I've learned a few things. BUT I'm bringing an umbrella! There are many compact umbrellas out there that weigh next to nothing and take up little space plus by the time I need one I might already be wet! My wife and I just did a trip to Italy where we did all carry-on and it was great! You get off the plane and just go...no waiting around the baggage carousel (and no check-in bag fees).
@@WhatashameMaryJane The extra baggage is always nice, of course. My umbrella would easily fit into your backpack in addition to what you packed into it. Your advice is terrific and I respect it but all of us have that one (or two) items we'll bring no matter how dumb it seems!
Hi Burak. Thanks for bringing up the topic of minimalism. I have been thinking about it so much and for many months I have had in mind to make a video about it. One day I'll do it. I'm very critic towards this trend of minimalism, even if it has many positive sides of course.
What of the 3 steps is the most difficult for you?
i realize I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released series online ?
@Koa Jairo Flixportal =)
@Mathias Jayson Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :) I appreciate it!!
@Koa Jairo glad I could help =)

Going to be traveling for 5 days and so glad to have confirmation that travelling with one bag isnt so crazy after all. 🙂
Karen believe me, pack as less stuff as possible. Especially clothes! You're going to thank me.

Wow Emily that's amazing, you're a pro!!
I totally agree. The bigger my luggage, the more unsafe and unsecure I feel.

If you have space, sure bring the umbrella! But there are people who add an extra baggage to bring all the things that are not necessary 🙄

The best way is being minimalist for sure!!

Necessary also includes medication. Just saying.
I know plenty of people who don't even keep medicines in their houses. Also, every country of this world has pharmacies. Just saying. :)
