    tennis balls also work just as well for rolling out those knots! I'm a synchronized swimmer and whenever we have sore muscles we not only use the rollers, but also tennis balls to massage out muscles. this video was definitely very helpful!

      To all people here, I had the same problem! My problem was that my hamstring tendons had become so tight due to working out too much, especially by skating very often. Go to a doctor, he/she can help you with giving you a customized stretching routine! I hope y'all get better!

    This is happening to me right now. My legs are so sore and tired and my back and arms hurt too and my ankles! I think everything hurts. But I think this will really help! I do three sports at the same time. Like tomorrow I have taekwondo and swimming then in Wednesday I have skating and I have no rest at all! But thank you so much for this video Katie!

    Hi Katie could you make a video on how to become more flexible if you can only just touch your toes 😂😂

    • @lemonmania967
      @lemonmania967 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I used to be like you. You just gotta stretch religiously. Like every day. And hold positions. Do it while watching TV or something :)
      Before you know it, you'll be more flexible!

    • @ameliarose5143
      @ameliarose5143 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cairo Rose for anyone trying to get flexible in a specific range of motion here's what I have done over the years.
      1. Get warm, like physically hot and sweaty, just like rubber bands in heat your muscles become more pliable with the heat and relaxing feel it brings(sit in a hot tub/bathtub for 10-15min)
      2. Do multiple sets and reps of stretching. Just don't hold for 30-60 seconds which isn't bad but think of this, if you want to use your muscles and push your body through a certain range of motion a lot you need to practice that and over time your muscles will adapt and elongate.

    For stretching classes check out pole dancing studios too. Pole dancers need to be super bendy so most have some kind of stretching class. I don't do pole dancing, but I love my weekly class at my local pole studio for deeper stretching.

    Another thing that helps with sore muscles is eating the right things. Eat enough proteins because your muscles need them to recover. Also it can help to take magnesium supplements because magnesium is important for muscles too. Those two things helped me a lot when I went running 4-5 times. (Also, if you're a girl magnesium can help to relieve cramps. It's a win win situation :D )

    Hey Katie! So I am 12 years old and I recently became obsessed with figure skating. It is such a beautiful sport and I would love to start, however I feel a little too old. Do you or anyone else have any advice for me? I would love to see you make a video regarding this subject and I would love to hear about your experience as a skater, when you started and about making progress. I have decided to start small with basic skating lessons, and I hope to progress more and more! Please keep up your amazing videos, thank you :)

Because I live in Romania were ice skating isn't a really popular sport , but I like it and i would want to practice in my summer vacation too .
