That's really cool that you're familiar with this area. We drive through Florence often when we're traveling back and forth from Tennessee to Ohio. That is so neat! We had no idea that it was from Omaha. We just read up on the history of the Reuben being from Omaha. Brent has been to Omaha for work related visits many times and will have to get a Reuben the next time he's out that way. The cornbeef looks great I always leave off thousand island and use German mustard 😋
Try Blue Ash Chili for great sandwiches. A double decker is huge and good
We go to the one in Cincinnati off 275 and it is great also, they did split pea soup on Saturday AM years ago, I really miss that

We are fortunate that we have them around the Cincinnati area.
Dad would take me to downtown Cincinnati in the early 50’s where the original owner would be screaming at people, and asking how much they wanted to pay. Place was packed !
Food looks great, def need to get a sammy from there. Pancakes look awesome, now I want some Kartoffelpuffer.

You would really enjoy their reuben here. Their thousand island sauce was different but still delicious. The tea was good but definitely not noteworthy. We hope that you’re having an awesome weekend, Cathy!

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV there Matzo ball soup taste similar to chicken noodle with dumping I also loving going to sub station 2 , if you ever go bk to louisville ky u got go try FABD Smokehouse best bqq place they burgoo which kentucky derby stable soup it known more in Owensboro ky that where came from u can put ever u want in it soo good and another place in Louisville would be fish called Moby Dick it better then captain d and other fish place is called Mike Linnig's u got go early they get packed the best fish they huge piece of fish whitening and catfish soo good they ppl travel from miles away just try this place

We will definitely add in a pastrami sandwich next time. We try hard to never order the same thing but with their title of having the world's best reuben, we couldn't pass up trying it. Thank you for the recommendation, PJL!

Yea I do agree. Think I recommend Izzy to Brent several months back as well as Golden Hands Bakery in Fairfax. Know it’s hard as you travel to hit ‘em all

I've had potato pancakes many times, but was surprised that there was no applesauce or sour cream to accompany them.

You should also try Blue Ash Chili, a double decker with Swiss is “oh my” good

and just sayin....The Hobnob corner in Nashville, Indiana has a fabulous reuben on homemade Dill Rye bread.
Florence is not far from Cincinnati and is just a short drive across the river. We are loving your idea about trying everything that Izzy's has....but that may take longer than a week with as large as their menu is lol. We hope that you're having a nice weekend, Candace!
We will definitely keep that in mind the next time we're up in Indy. We just looked up their menu and it looks great - their breakfast menu also looks great. Brent played guitar at Ceraland Park in Columbus when Colgate toothpaste had an event there many years ago (early 2000's) and is familiar with Nashville, Indiana.
A father of my dads friend owns this place! They relocated here recently from right next to the Starbucks. The owners owned Izzy’s since 1982. Great pickles! I live not too far from here so I pass by this place often.

Looks good to us! Unfortunately for me, I can’t stand the taste of Rye bread, so the people in delis usually look at me like I’m some sort of monster lol. It’s really cool to see how open your boys are to trying things, I’m really surprised they are willing to eat corned beef, it’s good stuff but definitely an acquired taste!
Brent isn't a fun of rye either but mostly the pumpernickel rye. He's now braved the regular rye bread though. We get surprised sometimes with what the boys will eat too. We asked the same question. It's popular in the Cincinnati area and it's a German inspired "mush" that's a combination of grains and sausage. It's almost like their version of a slug burger but with pork. We hope that you're having a great weekend, Deborah!
Everything looked really good although I never tried a Reuben
You will have to try one sometime. Brent didn't think that he'd like them but ended up enjoying them. They can be an acquired taste; especially with the sauerkraut, but they pack a lot of flavor. We hope that you're having a nice weekend, Casey.
