This is very helpful. I'm going to experiment with this immediately. Our church is currently without a pastor so a few of us laymen are filling in the pulpit on rotation. This is something I personally need at the moment. Thank you

Thank you for the content of your video. By God’s providence, it came into my life at the perfect time.
I have been writing papers all summer and will start a proper theology class next spring. I am absolutely certain that your teaching will be of great benefit to me.
May God richly bless you for your faithful work in feeding the flock .

Pastor Everhard. I have a topic for you speaking of dissertations. Could you do a video that explains the difference between seminary degrees. Specifically Ddiv, Dtheo, Dmin and what defines the work one would do with them I suppose each could lead to Pastor but maybe one would be more suited to a layman than the others. It’s just that in wanted to pursue a program I don’t understand the differences to select a path

This was excellent, even for a Lutheran like me! Thank you.

Very important technique. Thank you. I'm the sort of writer who can give a 3000 word introduction to each of my chapters; perhaps I need a bit of organization. BTW, to my Australian ears, I heard you say in your first example that we should suppose we were to write a paper on Play Dough: 1. Its purpose 2. The ingredients. 3. The Method in making it.

By the way, Matthew, this is how you can preach without notes. You have your multi-layered outline in your head. If you go over it numerous times the night before, then you have it to preach extemporaneously. It comes across more genuine.

Thank you, this has been helpful. Would you recommend John Frames' book,, "Theology in Three Dimensions: A Guide to Triperspectivalism and Its Significance"?

Oh, wow. I wonder if students ARE going to be using AI for their papers. That's horrifying. People are already getting more illiterate by the day. Adults barely read, much less write. As a person who loves books and study and language itself, this is horrifying to me. I wish churches would address this issue. We are a religion based on a book. If people cannot read or write well, it means they can't think well. How are they going to understand that book?

    Mr. Everhard,
Can you offer any advice on the different personalities of Seminary professors? Here is what I mean:
I just finished the 2nd half of my Christian Doctrine class. For my final paper in both Christian Doctrine 1 and Christian Doctrine 2 I wrote on Christology. Because in part 1 of the class I focused on His Person, in part 2 I focused on His Work. I seemed to absolutely nail it in part 1 where I discussed His Person. Then in part 2 I got a barely passing grade. The trouble is that both papers were identical in how they were laid out, what type of sources I consulted and the overall length. My efforts for both papers did not change, the only thing that did change was the instructor and the topic of paper. But my topic was more or less on the same thing. As someone that has gone through seminary and also teaches at one, have you found that some instructors are harsher than others even if for the same class?
    In Christ,
    Cody

    Pastor Matt,
Grace and peace to you. I am a redeemed follower of Christ and a recent subscriber to your channel and I appreciate your work and videos.
I am commenting here because in your playlist “Books and Bibles” is a video not by you that caught me off guard and I don’t know if you’re aware of it being in the playlist or not. I don’t know why it’s there and maybe it’s supposed to be there or maybe it was somehow accidentally dropped in there but because it’s not like the other videos and seems rather uncharacteristic of you and your channel I wanted to let you know in case you were unaware of it. The video is titled “Debbie Gibson - Shake Your Love (Official Music Video)” and it is about the 28th or so video down from the top of the list in the “Bible’s and Books” or “Books and Bibles” playlist.
I just wanted to let you know in case it isn’t supposed to be there.

Could you please pray for me? Work has been extremely stressful and I’m burned out. I just want to cry in bed. We’re super busy and customers are mean.
