Wales has never replaced him. And never will. The most naturally gifted entertainer/singer/comedian/actor and much more, ever to come out of Wales in the last century.
I was stationed briefly at RAF Box during my National Service with a lot of Welshmen. When you play this tribute you will know why I treasure the memory of one of them: a genius who died far too young. One winter evening Ryan Davies came into my room with an unusual request. He had a date with a girl in Bath but found himself short of a item of clean clothing. I still remember, 68 years later, that extraordinary face and that beautiful, musical, deep Welsh voice and hear him now asking, "You gotta vest?" Rev Mike Walling. Canterbury
Great tribute to a truly unique talented entertainer. Never beaten or equalled. And he did it all in English and Cymraeg. Cofio clywed y newyddion, merch ysgol ond mae'f cof yn glir. Dwli mynd i'r Grand Abertawe am "Panto". Allai cofio un llinell o hwnna o hyd. Diolch byth a cof da. Does neb wedi dod yn agos i ti Ryan. A fi'n dweud hwnna yn edrych ar y 'Steddfod. Cysga'n dawel Ryan. "And don't call Will on your Father."
I recall when he died, I was 9 and riding my was my Raleigh Tomohawk in Swansea. A nother kid told me with abject sadness "Ryan has died". Even as a 9 year old I knew it was a tradgedy. ❤
A tragic loss. A brilliant entertainer. Ryan was first class. We miss him still.

Taken way too early, what a talent. xx
