I love your t-shirt. Love your books too and so happy to see you back in your best shape. We all miss Sade's magnificently warm voice and her incredible class.
I'm leading a read along of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn on my channel starting today! (one per month). I'm really excited to read this for the first time. Happy New Year!
Yeah Brian, 2025 is going to be The Year of Osten Ard for me! I just picked up Navigator’s Children, so I’m starting with a re-read of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, which I read back when it came out. Then on to the two novellas and The Last King of Osten Ard, all of which I’ve been saving until now. That’s 10 books from the best fantasy series by the best fantasy author in the universe! It should be a good year.
Add to Tad Williams for me..Fionavar Tapestry and the first five of the Riftwar..that is Gold,man..also...you ,Sir are a true Badass..to be able to even speak after what you have been through is a feat..amazing Toughness, you have become the Hero in your own story...and everyone else who is watching!
So glad to see you doing awesome videos. I could not find a movie adaptation of the searcher. Could you be referring to the series “the Dublin Murders”?
Mr. Durfee, I greatly enjoy your top 10 lists, they remind me of Letterman's lists in some ways, both of you are on TV after all. Glad to see you doing better, a surge of vitality seems to be coursing within.
I started reading the dragon bone chair and then saw you had started a reread of it, and that felt cool. I finished it but it took a long time. That you got through all three/four books and then another four book tad williams series after it before the end of the year. You sir are a wonderful reading machine!
I read The Green Mile this year, I agree, haven't seen the movie yet, loved the book. Read some of the others in your top 10, others I need to add to the TBR list. It's in MS.
Hey man, happy almost new year! Can't wait to get to Memory Sorrow & Thorn and Eye Of The Needle in Q1 of next year. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
I read and enjoyed very much, Gorky Park, many years ago. It just so happens that I read another of Smith's Arkady Renko novels, Siberian Dilemma, last week. It goes from Communist corruption of Gorky to modern kleptocracy corruption in Siberian Dilemma. I'm going to have to get copies of the Renko books done between the two. Great mysteries with plenty of dark humor.
Is this really Brian Lee Durfee, author of the Forgetting Moon, The Blackest Heart, and The Lonesome Crown, with all three published by Simon and Schuster's Saga Press?!
I finally finished Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn this year, after DNFing it back in the 90s. A wonderful series that got better with each book and had a satisfying denouement.
I had a fantastic year for reading, the best of my life 1. Lonesome Dove 2. Pillars of the Earth 3. East Of Eden 4. Dune 5. Frankenstein 6. The Secret History 7. A Calamity of Souls 8. The Forgetting Moon 9. The Hobbit 10. I am Legend
I noticed you never really memtion jeffrey archer..so if i could reccomend a standalone and a series..these are guarantee book slump killers..prisoner of birth which is up your street. Prison based like a modern count of monte cristo. And his clifton chronicles series..im a fantasy and thriller reader yet this is my fave series ever ..its historical fiction coming of age style..every 1 who has read them have them at top 5
Tad Williams must be proud to be in the best tv program in the history of the entire universe!
"Welcome to my top 10 books video. Let us start at top 20!", Durfee said.

I love your t-shirt. Love your books too and so happy to see you back in your best shape. We all miss Sade's magnificently warm voice and her incredible class.

Durfee is back to 100%!!!! Dope!!!
So glad to see you doing awesome videos. I could not find a movie adaptation of the searcher. Could you be referring to the series “the Dublin Murders”?
Love this "top 10". Disquiet Gods by Ruocchio was my number 1 this year, but The Navigator's Children was a close 2nd. Last King is an amazing series.
Mr. Durfee, I greatly enjoy your top 10 lists, they remind me of Letterman's lists in some ways, both of you are on TV after all. Glad to see you doing better, a surge of vitality seems to be coursing within.

Good stuff!
I'm going for the Otherland Tad Williams series.
I read The Green Mile this year, I agree, haven't seen the movie yet, loved the book. Read some of the others in your top 10, others I need to add to the TBR list. It's in MS.
I’m typing this before I watch this top ten video as I’m expecting to have 16 books added to my TBR by the end of it.
😂
I really enjoyed Cold Mountain.
Hey man, happy almost new year! Can't wait to get to Memory Sorrow & Thorn and Eye Of The Needle in Q1 of next year. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
love Cold Mountain..
New to your videos and loving them!! Thanks for sharing! Have you read the newest series of Tad Williams from Osten Ard?
Sorry I wrote this before finishing this video!! I’m sold! Gotta read them!
Love your videos. Not asking for my money back!

The Forgetting Moon is in my top 10 for 2024. A bit more grimdark than my preference, but it is so well written I am on to book 2.
Brian, there’s 2 days left in the year, at your pace you can probably knock out another dozen books. A little premature upload don’t you think??
Oh man Brian, now I want your Prison novel!
Set it in the present and don't leave anything out.
A Yo' mama joke is the last thing i expected from this channel 🤣, never change buddy
Lonesome crown was 1 for me , that shit was like a fever dream and i wanna thank u for that
Your thoughts on dungeon crawler Carl? Or have you done a video on that already ?
Can you do review for Clockwork orange book?
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but ebook titled The Elite Society's Money Manifestation might be the answer you’re looking for
💯 percent agree! Any adaptation that diverges from the lore and writing will typically suck!
How can we send you a manuscript copy to review our own books?
You’re a smooth operator.
you looking great
I had a fantastic year for reading, the best of my life
1. Lonesome Dove
2. Pillars of the Earth
3. East Of Eden
4. Dune
5. Frankenstein
6. The Secret History
7. A Calamity of Souls
8. The Forgetting Moon
9. The Hobbit

My vote for the best trilogy I read in 2024 goes to HUNGER GAMES. Also THREE BODY PROBLEM is great.
will never ask for my money back here 😆😆
My number one book of the year was The Green Mile by Stephen King.
To properly honor #9 on the list, your next metal shirt needs to be from Gorky Park, the contribution to the hair band genre from the USSR.
Here's to 2025! Keep on reading!
You sir , are funny. 😂
See you in 2025 mr.durfee
I need to finally get to the Baroque Cycle this year
No Wind and Truth? 👀
The only problem I have with your lists is I won't be able to read all the books you recommend before I die😂
I really wish DAW wouldnt have been so stingy and dumped Michael Wehlan on those last two books.
Never stop telling Yo momma jokes!
