When a young secretary hops aboard the night train from Los Angeles to San Francisco to deliver an envelope for her boss, it takes an unexpected detour to Noir City. The intense score, composed and conducted by Paul Glass, would make Bernard Hermann proud.
Wow that was a good one! Grabs you from the beginning, as she's plunged into a nightmare 😮
Non stop action, no boring parts and above all no torrid love, make that sex sceens like today.
Do not like and want the intro.
History, bygone times, classical period. These films are all gems.

If this is rated a 'B' movie, 'B' must stand for better than most. A noir film that takes you out of the darkness and into the light.
A lot of good directors and writers got their start with these B noir films so there are a lot gems to be unearthed.
This is such a good movie! With being a classic movie buff, I am quite surprised I've never heard of or seen it before. I have a vast collection of old B&W classics, but not this one. Superb plot & acting! I love it!

Just a SUPERB, SUPERB thriller, the characters are believable and real, all of them, and the tension is real. Great storytelling.

The musical score elevates this above the movie's pay grade. Jacques Bergerac is quite good in this entertaining little ditty.

I agree, this movie was very good, especially for a less mainstream production. Acting was all very good and the hero characters were likeable. The worst villains are those who make innocent people appear guilty. Mala Powers was among the prettiest of Hollywood actresses. She did a great job portraying a person going through mental trauma.
Compelling film! I wasn't familiar with Mala Powers before watching this but she's a real natural beauty.
I love these old black & white movies. Adds intensity on a different level then color! I love the 1950's and early 1960's movies.

And Pizza Flix hits a GRAND SLAM home run with this great piece of Noir. It's hard to believe that this is considered anything but a A film. Lot's of action, suspense and a terrific cast.

A superb movie from the old days. good script too. enjoyed it immensely. the actor who played Paul was very cute. good acting all round.
Great movie and a completely good watch. Liked the almost Hitchcock influences which left you guessing at various points in the film. Jacques Bergerac led an colourful life being married to Ginger Rogers and Dorothy Malone.
This movie reminds me of the “Thriller” series my parents used to watch and I was too young to watch with them but I would sneak sometimes and watch anyway! Excellent film❣️❤️💖
Boris Karloff's Thriller? That was at about the same time.
Thriller was a UK series with many episode written by Brian Clemens an associate produce of the tv series the avengers

I grew up to same thing my parents wouldnot allow me to watch movies that and, they would send me upstairs but, I would sit at the top of the steps and watch the reflection of the mirror. Philly VIK 1965.
@@elba9066 "Thriller was a UK series..." They're both called Thriller. Karloff's in the 60's, and the UK one in the 70's.

Such an atmospheric film. Really grips you. And it was in 1961, 62 years ago. Excellent performances all round. I was genuinely affected. Be warned, it really is a thriller that thrills. England, October, 2023.

When I read the description about the musical score " would make Bernard Hermann proud," I was like, "I'm in!" Bernard Hermann has written the music to many Hitchcock films. And as we all know, the musical score goes far to tell the story. I was ready for suspense before I even clicked the Play button.
When I head the music intro I was already hooked! Herrmann is by far my favorite composer anyway!
I think the plot was better than the actors who played in the movie, but I still enjoyed it thanks!

Loved the movie! Never seen or heard of if before. It keeps you guessing. At one point, I began to believe that perhaps Sharon WAS insane! If she had not escaped from Mr. Brady, I believe they would've gotten away with it!

Great movie So ironic I had a classmate that killed his father that was worth 5 million dollars thinking he could get away with it and inherit his money, he is now in his 29th year of a life sentence !!

After watching this film, I'm more convinced than ever why men get so frustrated with women who hold secrets and play games with them. Good acting though. I always liked Mala Powers as an actress.

Ron Foster always looked like a combination of Peter Breck and Chad Everett. He did a lot of TV in the '50's and "60's usually playing a villain. He had the lead in a lot of these kind of movies because he was good looking and affordable. He just never got lucky enough to get a series that was successful. He died in the 2000's. Too bad nobody ever did an interview with him, I think it would've been interesting.

Jacques Bergerac was very pretty, and many very famous, very pretty (and much older) actresses of reknown thought so too. Actually a good guy. Smart enough to realize he was such a tip-top actor. Very pretty, and still alive.
He passed away in 2014. Check Google.

It's really a very good film.Brilliantly acted Mala Powers.Lots of suspense is there too. The end part could have been much better. But overall it's a good film.
fantastic many layers at first you think its bad acting but the main characters here are showing acting beyond acting. like they ham up one part to make another authentic - very clever, sexy and also romantic my fave film noir so far.
