Jakarta - I met my wife in Jakarta, but she was a well-traveled, worldly gal, the daughter of a diplomat. But before her, sure I met and dated a lot of gals, but invariably they were quite rough in terms of education, sophistication and worldliness. Funny you mentioned bookstores in Serbia. Indonesians may be many good things, but fans of the intellectual and academic pursuits, heck, if reading, they are not. My point here is this: you can meet and date tons of gals and sleep with them relatively easily in Jakarta, but in terms of actual wife material, you will need to search long and wide. Lots of material girls attracted to your money and white skin primarily too. Quality women do exist, but they are not easily accessible to outsiders. Jakarta, despite its size still has a lot of kampung (village) mentality. You're so right regarding business cities and dating. I've lived in many large cities in different parts of the world, but the best city I've experienced for dating is Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm guessing Bogota might be similar, or for that matter Mexico City, but either way I've had better dating success in larger, business cities, than smaller, family-oriented suburbs or vacation hotspots. Rains to much in Bogota. It reminded me of Seattle. I also spent ten days in Pereira. The weather was much better there; much less rain though cloudy at that elevation and temperature hovers in the 70Fs.. Of course, lots of beautiful women there. Visited a bachelor friend of mine there who moved from Thailand after seventeen years. He has been in Colombia for fifteen years now and loves it.

Something that is worth mentioning is that, dating location is only secondary to your own personality. In other words, if you're a shy person at social settings, you're not going to meet anyone in a city or country where everyone is reserved. For such instances, I recommend southern Europe, Latam and Indonesia as people are more warm and welcoming. As a foreigner, I've experienced being treated better, grab more attention than locals so that is also a card on your favor. If at the other hand you're more of a hunter or socially outgoing you are likely to be sucessful pretty much anywhere but always mindful of the cultural nuances.

I've always wanted to visit Jakarta but that traffic is a turnoff. Very true about Colombia though. Many foreigners stick to the same places like Medellin, Cartagena and Cali. I've heard good things about Barranquilla. I travel to the Dominican Republic and Santiago and the surrounding smaller cities are totally underrated. Everyone loves the north coast, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. I like to do the opposite as well. I've had some good experiences doing this.

For a woman it's important to go to a place where men actually understand what it means to "be a man". Too many men taking on overly feminine traits. I see alot of men bitchin in the comments about women, which is valid, but many traditional feminine women are exhausted in the USA of these guys not understanding what it means to "court" a woman. I think American men generally aim to please and are confused as to what women want, probably because of 50 years of screaming, angry feminism. I met my husband in the USA and he is one of the good ones, but I had to wade through an ocean of weak man-buns on the way. I am from South America where being a manly man can go too far, especially among the less educated people. I am happy with a balance, the US is not a balance, the women want to be men and the men are confused. My husband has a military background, I think that helps.
Both men and women have lost the sense of traditionalism and they complain about the other sex as not being traditional. But men are mostly ridiculed for being traditional and women are as well. I have reduced the level of chivalry in the past few years because of metoo and feminism and am more focused on short term relationships meaning about 15-30 minutes of action.

I used to live in Jakarta, the people tend to be ethnically and religiously divided. So if you are Muslim it is great but the other cities have other religions more open to dating non Muslims.

@Alex ' In some cases it can be really depends some gals will have high levels of English, others very little. What I can say is the ones with less English skills in my experience tend to be better quality (likely less westernized). Learning Russian is certainly a great way to start a relationship on a positive note and will state as I always have the relationship scene is 100 times better then most western countries (i.e. USA/Canada).

There certainly are a small minority that can speak the language fluently but those are far and few between. Some have have interest in the language or claim they do but when it comes down to barely can speak it well enough to be of sufficient use in a conversational sense.

My GF of 18mo is Colombian: met her in Jersey, but she grew up in Colombia and watches no American television. Doubt I'll ever date anyone who grew up in my home country again! The country has a very good education system -- far batter than American public schools. Plenty of gorgeous educated bilingual girls but if you go down there, you improve your chances greatly by speaking some Spanish and being able to dance.

I've always wanted to visit Jakarta but that traffic is a turnoff. Very true about Colombia though. Many foreigners stick to the same places like Medellin, Cartagena and Cali. I've heard good things about Barranquilla. I travel to the Dominican Republic and Santiago and the surrounding smaller cities are totally underrated. Everyone loves the north coast, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. I like to do the opposite as well. I've had some good experiences doing this.
if you are a single guy you want Chicas, Beaches and Beer. Lots of great bars ad nightlife. Better off in Medellin. Far more tourist friendly and some other Gringos around to make friends and party with. Bogata in my opinion is just too far out of the way. Santa Marta is great beach town. Medellin is also cheap. Great food and cheap hotels and apts. I have been an Ex Pat living in the Dominican Republic for 15 yrs. Do I miss the States? Hell No !. Here there are lots of ladies and are easy to meet. But its a little wild and crazy here. Not for widows and orphans. But not dangerous.Leave your bling at home. And they dont kick out Gringos. You can stay as long as you want. You pay a penalty when you leave. Russia and Belarus? Just too far away and probably expensive. All of Latin America is female heaven and a quick flight away. Wanna Party? Latin America is your spot.
Everything you wrote is wholly present and public in FL, southern CA, SC, GA, and TX. Women are generally very nice, family oriented, and approachable in these states as well.

For a woman it's important to go to a place where men actually understand what it means to "be a man". Too many men taking on overly feminine traits. I see alot of men bitchin in the comments about women, which is valid, but many traditional feminine women are exhausted in the USA of these guys not understanding what it means to "court" a woman. As well as they have no idea what it means to be a protector or provider.

I think American men generally aim to please and are confused as to what women want, probably because of 50 years of screaming, angry feminism. I met my husband in the USA and he is one of the good ones, but I had to wade through an ocean of weak man-buns on the way. I am from South America where being a manly man can go too far, especially among the less educated people. I am happy with a balance, the US is not a balance, the women want to be men and the men are confused. My husband has a military background, I think that helps.
Both men and women have lost the sense of traditionalism and they complain about the other sex as not being traditional. But men are mostly ridiculed for being traditional and women are as well. I have reduced the level of chivalry in the past few years because of metoo and feminism and am more focused on short term relationships meaning about 15-30 minutes of action.

You just buy an apartment and get a residence permit that you have to renew every year. Apartments in Minsk start around 50k$. However I would avoid moving to Belarus now because of political instability.
Women in Belgrade are the most beautiful I've seen, and it is a pretty high IQ country. It is not particularly tax friendly or low cost, though.

I noticed they less " bitchy" everyone makes an effort so there is less eye rolling while my experience is that in western cities if you do make an effort the claws come out fast! I used to live in Jakarta, the people tend to be ethnically and religiously divided. So if you are Muslim it is great but the other cities have other religions more open to dating non Muslims.

For starters here also guys, Moscow is the toughest Russian city for dating in Russia, often other cities including St. Petersburg tend to be better options. @Alex ' In some cases it can be really depends some gals will have high levels of English, others very little. What I can say is the ones with less English skills in my experience tend to be better quality (likely less westernized). Learning Russian is certainly a great way to start a relationship on a positive note and will state as I always have the relationship scene is 100 times better then most western countries (i.e. USA/Canada).
@@87solarsky Yes, some do really depends but truthfully most cannot speak German well enough for it to be useful. There certainly are a small minority that can speak the language fluently but those are far and few between. Some have have interest in the language or claim they do but when it comes down to barely can speak it well enough to be of sufficient use in a conversational sense.

The same is true for all the other girls I named. I assume that maybe Asian descent women default to English when speaking to foreigners, maybe esp. with partners. So, maybe search for those girls if speaking English is a major deal for you. I've never spoken English at home my entire life, and I'm as American as it gets. People speak English outside.

All Peruvians I know either live in the US, helped me with my Spanish, or lives in Chile. Only one living outside the US spoke English, and she lived in the US during her childhood. So, I'm not sure what your answer is supposed to mean in the context in which we were debating.
