US vs UK KFC 2020 vs 2024 | Food Wars | Insider Food
UK KFC has gone downhill fast. And their prices have gone the opposite direction.
Ditto for the US. You can than corporate cost-cutting B.S. for falling taste and quality 🤬
@@PiousMoltar It's China. Yum! Look at Pizza Hut. They're done too. Taco Bell is next.
Too bad their quality is inconsistent
"most of these restaurants are franchises, so quality can vary wildly....."
Very true, KFC here seems to be the most inconsistent. When it's good, it's amazing. When it's bad... Feels like a gamble every time.
Just like with every other Franchise.
@@ZombieSlayerTakashi well done, that's the point 😁 However, not everything they review is always a franchise 🤔
@@ZombieSlayerTakashi chick fill a, pdq, Culver’s seem to be more consistent. KFC and mcds is bottom of the barrel
"69 grams" - "Nice KFC.."
Heh nice
Always partial to a Zinger tower box meal personally. Also, don't forget most of these restaurants are franchises, so quality can vary wildly in your local branch compared to others around.
I used to love the Zinger tower but now they've ruined it by changing the sauce...
@@PiousMoltar They broke it getting rid of the Salsa. I don't buy them any more.
Probably not smart for me to watch this, as now I want KFC again.
It's got lots of stuff in it to make u want more
@@sabejreid2072 wtf u on about
This is really cool to see how much they have changed over the years, would love to see other places
South Africa has bucket sizes: 9 = $ 10; 15 = $ 16.50 or 21 = $ 22
Colonel burger = $ 3.50 (tree-fiddy)
Tv dinners. Joe and Harry are riding too high after their Vegas steak trip
The typical American household must spend an additional $11,434 annually just to maintain the same standard of living they enjoyed in January of 2021.
In the UK Sprite is only lemonade in the same way that all fizzy drinks can be referred to as lemonade. But when it comes to lemon drinks, we have the clear fizzy stuff, cloudy fizzy stuff and the still fresh stuff…all of which are readily available in supermarkets. There is also lemon flavoured iced tea too.
As a non-US native, it's funny that I know that Starry didn't replace 7Up, it replaced Sierra Mist.
I LOVE YOUR VIDS!
Great video as always. I want more :P
Omg my Sunday is made. Best food duo reunion. Yes quality has gone right down the hill and that's not Benny or runny
In The Netherlands you can half the portions and add 25% to the price lmao
US vs. UK KFC are back but now the new twist as McDonald's four years ago
I had to Google what a chicken keel is, but why would you want that part of the chicken?? From what I'm reading, it is a lot of cartilage between the breast bone. Mmm, chewy cartilage, just what I've always wanted. 🤢
It’s breast meat basically. It’s just cut differently, think of it like having breast meat off the bone.
Thy are found the way to roll this show forever 😅
Thought of the same
How to keep making money off this series
I miss the twister. That was my favorite KFC item when I was younger I mean it came out in 1997. Definitely my go to then.
Back in the 90s KFC did have chicken wings I remember because my dad used to buy them for the big football game. They noticed a decline in the early 2000s and decided to switch. I do miss the mild or medium buffalo wings they had.
They had Honey BBQ wings and they were amazing
50% of the time here in the UK it's unbeatable chicken... other 50% it's greasy meh.
But that's Very Good - Average, overall. They just need to increase the balance more to the unbeatable end and they will do fine here.
Okay pardon my profanity here but...Godammit Joe you made me cry from that food tribute.
I went to a KFC in Orlando from the UK to try the chicken Pie and also ordered the chicken Tenders Meal. Then had the Lemonade. we need the US Lemonade in the UK! Also we used to have Honey BBQ sauce back in the early 2000 as I used to work in a KFC.
As an ex chicken cook for kfc.. here's a tip for getting extra crispy.. get them to double bread the chicken.
So basically, dip, flour, dip, flour.. dip is just a water dip. Nothing special.. no idea on herbs and spices sorry..
That is extra crispy.. double breaded and fried.
Woo, kitchen secrets, thanks mate
Our lemonade is basically Sprite without the lime flavour part.
Bring back the Big Daddy meal in KFC
Few days ago, my local KFC chain introduce a one-day deal. You could get 5 pcs chicken for about 4 USD, which is extremely cheap. Even among the likes of McDonald's, A&W, Burger King, Popeyes & Wingstop
Next do US VS France
You guys should do UK or US vs Ireland next.
Joe biting into the cake like that was so blursed.
I love KFC tenders, but they are so ridiculously expensive now (and they are so inconsistently sized) that I only get them when they have a special on them.
And I prefer KFC’s spicy chicken sandwich to Popeyes. However, I prefer spicy chicken sandwiches to have spicy breading (CfA and Wendy’s) vs. just a spicy sauce added to a regular chicken sandwich (KFC, Popeyes and McD’s).
The OG's are BACK!
He's exactly correct. It's a bowl of mashed potatoes (which aren't good) with chicken and corn on top. I used to live near a KFC so I ought to know!
I love when Joe says all ranch tastes the same, it actually doesn't.
Even though I despise Chick-Fil-A, their ranch is pretty good.
But McDonalds has the best one, been a favorite of mine for years
The famous bowl sans cheese is reminiscent of Thanksgiving leftovers.
As a Brit KFC to me is probably the last place I'd go for fast food. It's always bad.
It is bad in the UK but honestly way worse in Denmark. I find KFC messes up my IBS unlike Mcdonalds or some of the other fast food places. It is also the most inconsistant fast food place from experience.
Was not expecting a Niko namedrop, shoutout NDL
Do a slim chickens comparison video.
Why is the passion fruit red? 😂
An idea for an episode would be to do sauce comparisons between chains, so try out everyone's bbq sauce, or everyone's ranch or honey mustard, figure out which one's are the unhealthiest, best tasting, etc., maybe provide some tidbits regarding sauces in the US vs. UK, given that there's a difference (US sauces at McDs, BK,etc. basically free, UK sauces not so much).
Here in North Royalton, Ohio the price of that 16 piece chicken with the 4 sides is $54!!
Well, now i know where im going on the way home from work...
Joe Biscuits are scones
The uk party bucket also had mini fillets though that you’ve not included and pop corn chicken
dang, it's been 4 years already but Hary already lost so much hair. all that salt, beans and bangers is doing numbers on him
How many people do you know that got a 19% wage increase in the last 4 years ?
Definitely not me!
I love the Buffalo Dipped Bites
they've removed the gravy mega box (uk)... not worth going anymore 😢
Why the UK still doesn’t have the pot pie is bewildering.
We need a seafood boil foreign exchange. They’re questionable in the UK 😂
We never go to KFC but my kids will occasionally ask for a famous bowl and I will make them at home. It's really easy if you use instant or leftover mashed potatoes and then you can add as much chicken as you want.
16 piece in North Carolina is $33.99. Maybe it's because we have millions of local birds and they are cheaper?
UK KFC chicken is so sweaty and so inconsistent. It's really only a place I go if i'm in a pinch or hungover.
Mad because the one near me is excellent all the time.
Lemonade in the UK can mean both sparkling and still (cloudy) lemonades, i.e. fentimans.
Joe acting like we have any say in what KFC sells over here when it comes to the extra crispy... Also we do NOT call sprite lemonade... We call sprite, sprite and lemonade... surprisingly.... lemonade.
because of health reasons i can no longer eat KFC chicken, apparently I'm allergic to some of the stuff they use in the chicken breading, and despite nearly causing me a huge medical emergency when I asked for ingredients to give to my doctor, they refused point blank, haven't touched a KFC item in about 6 years at this point, but something I used to like years ago was what they called a 'big daddy burger' it was a large piece of original recipe chicken, mayo/lettuce, hash brown 'tower' and bacon with a couple of layers of cheese, used to cost £5.50 at that time, and made a great box meal option (box meal was the burger plus large fries/large drink/large side) and would normally cost ~£11 at the time.
In Trinidad and Tobago you can get a 21 piece
What do you do with all the cold chicken
Your ideas are always fresh and original. Thank you for the inspiration!🛳🏄🤩
Britain has the wings and America has the pie. Odd.
Also, unless they've changed it recently, the KFC's around where I live have a different style of cookie. They're a lot thicker than those one's.
See you guys next sunday!
I've never eaten KFC in the states and not gotten physically ill (way too much residual fry oil on the breading) I have also not eaten KFC more than 6 times since they changed their gravy recipe in the 80's. KFC went from good enough to eat even though the grease will make you puke to 2nd tier frozen fried chicken in quality, and the sides never recovered from the loss of a good gravy.
Starry is not 7 Up, it's Sierra Mist.
Colonel has fallen off a cliff these last 10 years. Isn’t the same as it was.
I would love for them to change the recipe back to the original opening recipe..
Harry you forgot to get the watermelon drink from kfc I'm pretty sure it's uk exclusive 😅
Kfc rice box is the best item in kfc you get mexicanvstyle rice lettuce tomato sweet corn and beans in a sauce plus a garlic type sauce which is lovely and only has 500 calories for £6.99
All i get from this is that KFC constantly get your order wrong, and even fail to give you some of what you have paid for.
Last time I ate and KFC, I got the bowl.....it was WAY too salty. I get a frozen version of it, branded by Banquet. Good price.....pretty good taste.
I haven't been to a KFC here in Canada (Kingston, Ontario) in decades. Reason, too far away from my house, and really I don't know where there is one. I guess I don't miss them.
Very quiet audio levels.
When are they doing an foreign brand exchange? Id love to see Joe slum it with a Wimpy, Toby, Greggs and Harry attack IHOP & Arbys etc.
I love KFC but the extra crispy chicken doesn't love me.
Also RIP potato wedges.
Food for thought. I'm in the US (not California) and our KFC 16piece chicken only bucket is $41.47. This is if I order it right now. Wondering if the California wage hike is the culprit for someone these prices. Our minimum wage here is more than double the national minimum.
Last time I tried UK KFC, the chicken pieces were so small, it was ridiculous.
16:50 try eating three cream crackers or two Weetabix with out drinking anything far dryer Joe
The UK has Krushers??!!!
They need to bring the Krushers back down under
The Popeyes Bowl Crushed the KFC bowl. Apparently it was a pain in the ass to make. Since they used the bone in chicken cut up...and thats a risk of bone. Also giving everyone a refrigerated packet of sourcream was extra cost. However far Superior bowl.
Alright, I have an opinion on ranch dressing, and it is this:
Every ranch tastes the same, except for Hidden Valley, which tastes worse.
Try Ken's it's the best bottled.
I agree that Hidden Valley is trash
Tell me you’ve never had Wingstop Ranch without telling me you’ve never had Wingstop Ranch.
I second this.
@@NickBLeaveIt wing stop ranch slaps. Their chicken is mid...but sometimes it's worth it just for the ranch
more yuelei cameos!
Can you make the satiation in your videos the same? The colour grading is completely different!
To be frank, I'm amazed KFC is so popular in England and also Japan. It is not as famous here in USA.!
US meal for two- Five pieces of chicken. They didn't think that through.
you guys should come and try KFC in UAE , you guys will then realize what you are missing out on
The quality of UK KFC is really poor these days. Very rare that I would choose to order one
Joe looking fresh!
What, US dont have crispy wings, this is the only thing that I buy buckets from KFC...
This is the definition of effortless creativity! It’s like you’re in the zone with every video you make. I’m definitely inspired to bring some of that energy into my own videos
Prob the best food show on tv/internet right now, Love you guys keep the content coming!!

What the heck is a keel?
The keel is the bottom-most longitudinal structural element of a watercraft.
@@cephlo1 chicken are watercraft are they? 😁
Not Harry calling it
Raaanch..
I just cant believe @neeko omilaiana, the other failed mayor of London got referenced in food wars
Bruh the mini fillet has the pepper mayo 💀
How can you say its the same as a fillet burger
Uk version btw.
Kfc in America in my opinion has some of the worst tasting food compared to their competition. They used to be one of the best but they are definitely falling behind Popeyes. That’s what happens when you raise prices and lower your quality.
Oh nooooo. The "Tower Burgers" from England sound dreadful!
Should also be pointed out that not all UK KFC chicken is British - if its off the bone, chances are its sourced from overseas, mainly Thailand.
Some near me are Halal chicken, so where is that coming from?!
@@andrewhaines3259 Halal slaughter is common in the UK. All KFC Halal chicken is pre-stunned too, so slaughtered in exactly the same way as non-Halal.
I had KFC yesterday and it was delicious!
KFC prices are a complete rip off. Less chicken too.
Eaten KFC on 3 continents. The crispy in the States was the only one worth having, the rest tended to be greasy and taste kind of fowl. Really miss the BBQ ribs they did in the 80's, much better than the chicken.
so there was no real price increase when factoring in wage increase. I am sure everyone on the street would claim otherwise.
I get instant regret every time finish a kfc
