In my opinion, the best thing about this gun (and AEK-971 for that matter) is the ability to shoot two rounds in an immediate sequence next to each other, with both shots hitting perfectly into the same spot. That makes it much, much deadlier and creates much more impact on hitting.
They actually got rid of the left-side selector switch on the final revision, as far as anything I can find indicates. It's all on the right again like more classic AKs. Good shots of the extension on it to operate it with one finger, though.

They could streamline production by having a box section aluminum extrusion instead of stamped reciever and plate top covers and handgrips. The front of the extrusion could have key holes for mounting lasers, sights and any other optics. It just needs the holes drilled to hold all the working parts in the same place as the stampings of the old reciever. They could have a steel extrusion if they want to keep it super cheap. Also, it could be a bullpup with no mods to the innards.
