I came to Halifax in around 76/77 from Ireland i worked in Hillcrest foundry brighouse rd. i only stayed a couple of years then i went back home on Saturdays there was a big market day in the piece hall it was a fantastic atmosphere brings back great memories i loved Halifax of course it's changed. great video.
It was run by a chap called lez And he was in a band called fez It was up on the balcony The good old days And I used to have a market stall in the main square before it was concrete. When I was a child it was a fish market and we went on school trips there from boothtown junior school. How things have changed
If you visit Go into the library it's New in there and has been built around the large spire which now comes out through a glass roof. It's very cleaver how they have married old and new. It's worth going in just to see the original window. Search calderdale library opening there's a small photo. there's also the mystery hand prints outside the Westgate entrance
