Nd they trash at anything tht isn't that fit
TikTok made everyone think they’re into fashion. But 2022-24 I’ve seen the most trendiest people and most copy pasted outfits all while they think they’re some elite fashion gods. But in reality they’re just like everyone else
Trust me these guys ain’t fashion guys just trend followers
Yeo, it's you
being fashionable just means knowing how to dress, not knowing how to create never before seen fits. Just like being a chef means being able to make the same recipes everyone else makes, not necessarily making your own new recipes.
@@nile7999 good analogy. Def changed my stance a bit. But it still gets boring to see everyone w the big jeans over one timb and the tongue hanging out the other timb IN EVERY FIT PIC… you don’t have to be 100% creative with your outfit. It’s ok to be inspired. But at some point you just become a trend following bot imo
@@nile7999true but a chef makes recipes while cooks just make the food and the tiktok fit people are just the cooks
“Sometimes people forget to include themselves”

fr! When he said that i instantly agreed.
I'm not that experienced in fashion yet, how would someone include themselves in an already predetermined selection of clothes tho? Wouldn't they have to make the clothing or accessory themself? 🧐 like some diy action
@@cat-le1hf what i meant was how do u show yourself through clothing that yourself didnt make?
@@Liam-yq3tv its easy, simply wear clothes that you like, not clothes you're going to wear once and never again, wear clothes based on your personality, not an internet persona/trend, etc etc i could go on
My first meta "fit" was dressing like a tiktok E-boy in 2021 and there is nothing redeemable about that
experimentation is necessary for growth
Nah not as bad as only shopping at zumiez
meta fit is wild
i mean it did go hard back then
2020/1 feels like it was last decade.
This is why I love watching those “what are people wearing in [cities across the world]?” videos. You see such diversity of different styles. And you’ll surprisingly barely see any of these “TikTok fits”
Depends on the country I see these robot fits every big city
@@Hopwak definitely not London or Tokyo. Been to both. Those cities are way more creative.

@@bishpls4648 there’s a lot, but I mostly follow Dickimchi (Tokyo) and Dev Moore (NYC; occasionally Tokyo). There’s also a guy in London, but forgot his name rn. I believe they’re all connected somehow, but I’m not sure.
isn't it strange that, in a world where algorithms are hyper-individualized to cater to people's tastes, people still end up doing the exact same things?
Maybe because the options to choose from is curated and not actually something we have control over. There's a good book on that called manufactured consent, but you can also find solid videos on youtube condensing it.
To a degree, people are also curated to the benefit of the algorithm
WHEN TEH ROOT OF YOUR THOUGHTS, IDEAS AND EMOTIONS ARE BIRTHED FROM WITHIN TEH ALGORITHM YOUR LEFT WITH NOTHING.. JUST MINED DATA BEING RE MINED …A MINDLESS DATABASE EMANATING FROM A SOULLESS VACUOLE 🚧👁️🚧🛰️ SHIT MAKES ME LAUGH EVERYDAY.. TEH SIMS REALLY THINK THEY’RE ALIVE
They’re not hyper-individualized! Our taste is slowly molded by the algorithm and what we allow on our page
This shit hard
It's really just late 90's boy band + Y2K Hip Hop + 2020's accessorizing. Just imagine you put justin timberlake, ja rule and some midtown gay guy through a custom character generator.
Justin Timberlake, Ja Rule, and some midtown gay guy 😭😭😭😭
Seriously maybe sprinkle a little G-unit and just a dash of Limp Bizkit. This was the fashion when I was a young teenager that quickly became tacky when baggy got replaced with slim fitting clothes.

As a fellow unc, I also believed people stopped being born after 2011.
I like the positive analysis of how fashion culture is evolving to make the average consumer more intentional with their shopping.
I swear I see the same 5 fits everyday, the same looking kind of dudes or girls just different skin tones or hair color. It’s so interesting everyone wants to be so “different “ by looking all the same
Some of these "different people" are gonna get sick of being not so different and "evolve" their style into the next cool underground fashion trend like late 2000s/ early 2010s fashion
They don't want to be different, they just want to look like they do

Rianphin talks very much about subjects as such and has incredibly thoughtful commentary.
She once said that people are all looking at the same references but without any real connection to them, just a desire for consumerism and to signal “I know about this thing”, “I can afford this thing” and end up only being able to organize their ideas/fits around a couple of general or widely repeated ideas because they’re all consuming the same references, and are all relatively distanced from them. It’s costuming, really.
Completely agree that meta fits exist and are nothing new; there’s always a huge difference between the dude who gets all the staple pieces and wears them together all the time, and the guy who’s a genuine connoisseur. Ironically, Rick Owens is a great example for me. People will weaker Ramones and maybe Geobaskets, but I can tell a real Rick-head because they’re more likely to wear something like…corduroy Pod shorts, or a full bodybag with some rare runway dickflap tank I’ve never even seen. Or they’re also wearing BBS or Julius or something. Hate to be cliche, but, you know, while I agree that people do generally dress better than ever - but I’m also seeing more genuine fashion *victims* than ever. Seeing kids start their Sophomore year in FULL Dior, Chrome, Rick, Lanvin and Balenciaga is such a mindfuck lmao.

what he’s basically want to explain is “if you can’t repeat that fit in the next 5 years then it ain’t it.”
when I talk about people having a personal style and this is what they show off 😢 like what do you like not what appeals to the current fashion boy look
I think there is a beauty in looking basic because you get to rlly be apart of your era and reminisce when it passes. Like “remember when we everyone used to…”

The rise of 'old money' TikTok fit really took a toll on me. Just because I worn these boring timeless classic fit and people teasing me 'old money' for no reason at all.
Kids nowadays really are dressing so much better. Looking back, if we wanted to be fashion conscious, we all browsed /fa/, Kanyetothe, etc. and everybody fixated on the same Kanye fits or the same Rick Owens, Margiela, or Raf Simons pieces. You still see that now obviously with majority of people dressing the same, but the rise of all these fashion resources and influencers got much more kids being knowledgable about this stuff and how to actually dress well.
i love the editing style sm. so fucking fun

At least he works out
Rs, in person I have never really seen anybody really dressing like he says
Exactly. Most people I see dress like 2006 Mark Zuck. Absolutely zero effort into what they wear
DO NOT BUY AIR POD MAX.I had many issues with airpod max. The issue I was having with them is there was this constant static sound and come to find out that the "active noise cancelling was wonking out. and then the left earcup just stopped working. LIke I mean no sound not static no nothing. Then the battery died. And at that point I contacted apple and told them my issue and they offered to replace them for free and I would get a refund. so I did. and then those ones started to die too. SO at that point I had given up. I talked with my friends who had them and went to Reddit to see if anybody had the same issues and a lot of them said yes.
TL:DR airpod Max was a very dumb and expensive purchase that for me didn't work out.
Their sound quality really isn't even that mindblowing either, it's like they boosted the high frequencies to make people think it sounds more clear. They're not bad by any stretch but you'd get way more bang for your buck with a good pair of Sennheisers or Sony WH series (which also cost less).
He mad the nap check was actually interesting

Oh boy a new Frugal video. Run that at 2.25x speed.
the editing is literally hilarious in the best way possible
I honestly loved the early Grungy/Jerryboy look (Yeezy 350 V1/750 Era), because that is how I had already been dressing for years. Made it so easy to pick up nicer versions of clothes I already owned. Instead of buying a shitty band tee from Hot Topic, I could instead get a fake vintage heavyweight one from some random brand. Same goes for the rest of the fit, you could get nicer flannels and jackets for so cheap.
Sometimes the good parts about these meta fits is that if it has a piece you like wearing you will EAT. Everybody steps in and does their thing. I don't buy Supreme at all, but god damn did that 2016 Black Sabbath Washed Trucker Jacket I bought age well. Made it through the Hypebeast Era, FOG/Jerry Boy Era, Everything Retro & Vintage Era, Workwear Era.
5:12 jaden and jb just hit the hardest fit check of all time
Watching kids wear a regular fit inspired by the 2000’s NY and thinking it’s the hardest look ever is interesting. This might sound like oldheadism but When my generation was copying the 90’s the fit had to actually look good, you couldn’t just thrown on anything old looking it actually had to look like a good outfit, now kids are literally just wearing anything that resembles the 2000’s and it’s automatically a good fit because it looks old not because it’s a good fit. Maybe I’m bias because I’m from NY, but these outfits just look like old broke dudes wearing anything they can afford not actually thought out fits. Maybe I’m just hating tho but as someone born and raised in Brooklyn this looks like a bad impression of NY fashion from 1999-2007.
I think you should’ve also talked about the other meta fit going around with the “y2k”, affliction, southpole, dc, studded belts, and other skater/Emo items
Adam Sandler and his consequences have been detrimental to men's fashion.
Half the TikTok fits are just fits. I’ve seen things I’ve had my eye on since middle school trending. Back when I’d show Boston birks two friends and get the comment of them giving “granola dad” energy or more just “dad” vibes. I’m the biggest advocate for exploring your style simply through research and looking. Prices give you needless inferences on items and whether they suit you. Style should be form of self expression. They basically take these equations from street fashion and bake them down into a straight foward template missing the point that it was the same people that they copy and paste inspiration from without outside of the box rematch thing simply on how much they like them, or how they made them feel to carve out something that wouldn’t of been recommended or even considered before. Letting algorithms decide what’s cold and views and numbers warp what will make you look cool. Carabiners we’re viewed as sus when they’re both practical and double as an accessory. That jorts are relegated are synonymous with skater kids. It’s this Hive mind fad behavior where youth lack identity and ride the coat tails of those taking a step outside of what’s marketed towards them to pave their signature style, something that expresses you authentically. Putting that image of yourself out into the world of how you most feel comfortable instead of what’s classified and guaranteed to be viewed as cold. Of course I believe you can find pieces of your style from anywhere even from trends. I just kind of hate how they make fits seem redundant or template based because people hop onto unspoken pioneers doing their own thing. Previous thrifted fits or odd pairings from a unique vision now becoming exactly what they subverted. Thrifted items now recycling into stores for absurd prices, and broke boys with a defined or growing personal style now lost in the sea of lookalikes. Don’t let algorithms define you, wear whatever you like even after it’s become mainstream or trending, keep learning what you like, keep your favorite pieces and when it’s all shifted to the next fad you’ll still know that you’re being true to you. The jerseys, birks, baggy pants, and interesting fades, blah blah blah. They aren’t new, nor is the phenomena. I feel like if you like your clothes for you and nothing else that’s all that matters and time and styling will weed out those riding a new sensation and you’ll be able stand out the line up for being you. The amount of times I’ve seen fits oddly styled in a way that I’ve been trying to get my wardrobe at is alarming and a bit irritating. Just to have them called “TikTok fits” because accts lack originality. The same people being too afraid to dress this way or cropped fits being sus. The day people cut out the noise in prioritizing themselves.. it’s more than the pieces, the specific fits. Or following an algorithmic pattern but having the forethought to piece these things together in the first place, to experiment. I’m blabbering on at this point because I don’t feel as though I can properly break down what I mean. Maybe I’ll revise when my thoughts are sorted properly. Either way I know what I like, and I’ll continue to try and pave something unique for me and follow the vision I feel best represents me. It must only be flattering to the many others with similar styling conventions as mine to see the boom. But it’s almost competitive and redundant as well..
U need a video about covid era and how everyone’s styles developed. The tiktok fit is just the result of covid
