This run was seriously unlike anything I've been a part of as a fan. I thought the 2011 Final Four run was special, and this obliterated that. The drama, the stakes, the unlikely heroes, the absolutely classic moments that just kept coming... never going to forget this one. About as close to pure joy as I have come as a Kentucky fan.

I still get chills. I've been a fan since 1987 and I've never seen a tournament run like that. The unexpected joy and elation of close games is much better than the pressure of trying to not lose when you're expected to win (a la 1996 and 2012). I get on here and start to read the comments and I see this Marshall Baker guy as the top comment on here. Well, I just can't have that so I'm gonna get a little cheesy.
I was born in Cincinnati, grew up in Northern Kentucky and later Lexington. Every state has it's own charm and I saw some others (left Kentucky for 12 years and lived in 5 other states). But I've been back for the last 8 years and I've fallen in love with my home all over again. Everywhere from Louisville to Northern KY to the plains and farms of Western Kentucky, Bowling Green and Owensboro. The amazingly haunting beauty of our Red River Gorge, Pine Mountain, Morehead, Cave Run Lake, Hazard, Pikeville, Ashland. The mystique of Mammoth Cave, Land Between the Lakes, Danville, Somerset and Lake Cumberland. Finally, there's the jewel of all awkwardly large college towns--that is Lexington. Home to the Wildcats. My home too.
Lexington is thriving right now and while only a portion of the city may know what I'm alluding to, the one thing that unifies us all is the University of Kentucky and it's basketball team. The team that we're watching this year is truly something special that, if we do what we're capable of, will be remembered forever. We could add something unmatchable to our already unmatched history.
Our state has stigmas and stereotypes. Many of them are not good. The north thinks we're southern, the south thinks we're northern. The Midwest refuses to claim us. But you know what? I don't care. We are unique. We are uncategorized. We are Kentucky. We are the greatest tradition, in the history of college basketball. Go Big Blue. Forever.

I love it. Of all the Kentucky teams this may just be my favorite. No, they didn't win the title, but still showed off an amazing amount of grit and determination. I know some will disagree with me, but it will be a tough argument.
This team really reminds me of the Knight-led team. Anyone could see all the talent they had but they couldn't put it all together until the SEC/NCAA tournament. It was a magical run, even if it was just short.
It might have a little bit to do with those 3 go-ahead 3 pointers Harrison hit. Just hitting one of those would make him a Kentucky Postseason legend. But three? I don't believe that has ever happened before. Forget UK Postseason legend, just make it THE postseason legend.
You've got something there Brennan. They were really the second comeback Cats. They had to get scrappy each 2nd half and Harrison would just ice it. This is the best kind of drama!

I liked that run too, but on the other hand, Wichita State got screwed after going undefeated that regular season.

I haven't watched UK basketball for long but since Cal arrived this is the BEST run in the tourney i have seen! This run was special with the unforgettable moments, excitement, and craziness. I will be telling my grandkids about this someday

Such a great run. So proud of that team. So happy to be a fan. Even if we lost. Losing was the theme of that season. But we fought, hard. Aaron Harrison became my favorite player during that run.
Last night against ND I kept saying give it to Aaron. He's got ice coursing in his veins. He was built for that moment, and isn't afraid to miss. Showed us once again last night. I believe hell make millions off of that clutch gene of his one day.
What a tradition, man. So grateful that I was born a UK fan. Even if we lose, and experience a heartbreaker. We can always look forward to next year. Even if Cal leaves, we will still pull a great coach. Wildcat Basketball never stops.

I'm a UK fan too. The past 2 seasons have been great. Very upsetting we lost yesterday but we will be back next season. Twins, Ulis, Booker, Dakari, Lee will return. I got a feeling EJ Floreal will be big next season, but the guy who made this video needs to make one for this past season! 38-1 is historical!! Only thing that hurts is that it was the last time these boys played together and it was in a loss...#BBN #WeAreUk

As a UConn fan, I have to say that Kentucky's run and UConn's run were both pretty impressive. And to whoever says that Kentucky lost to Florida 3 times last year, think about this: at the end of the season, Kentucky was in the National Championship and Florida wasn't. UConn beat Florida twice, once on a buzzer beater, and the other in the Final Four by 10, Kentucky only lost by 6, which was a closer game than Florida's. Now Kentucky please do me a favor and get Drake off the bandwagon. Thanks :)

I like to think that UConn and UK fans get along pretty well. I didn't want to lose to anyone last year, but if I'd had to pick, I'd have given it to the Huskies.

as a kentucky fan, i am blessed for these kind of moments. i have respect for every other team but i think kentucky has the best stories. through ups and downs, were ready to go through it. and for proof, we have 8 championships,17 final fours, and let not forget about the great coaches, rupp, hall, and mostly.. calipari. and of course the stars, kat, davis, booker, cousins, and someone who im going to think is a future all-star.. mailk monk.
Wow this was one of the greatest tournament runs ever. Besides the championship team, this might be my favorite UK team in the Calipari era. It was just such a great journey with this team.

funny how we lost in the finals but it was the greatest tourney experience for a long time for me, better than our davis team's, maybe better than comeback cats (though the duke revenge was nice).....i was scheduled to work during the michigan game and i payed $100 to another employee to work for me......living in missouri everyone thought i was crazy....i may be, but i was not going to miss any tourney game with uk doing what they were doing.

Go big blue! This was a great team in kentuck history. One my favorite uk teams of all time. I've seen alot uk teams ive been one there biggest fans I'm 53 been watching cats senss the 74-75 team i remember sitting at dinner table listening to cawood ledford the voice of the kentucky wildcats, many cold winter nights with my dad cawood was the best play by play man I've ever listen to. His game call had u riveted to edge of your seat, made u feel like u was sitting court side.

This was the 13-14 season. They went to the championship and lost to Connecticut... The very next season 14-15 they went undefeated and lost to Wisconsin in the final four. And Wisconsin lost to Duke in the final game.

I'll admit. I was very sour when Kentucky beat at the time my favorite basketball team, Michigan. But watching them in the last two games, and seeing the passion after watching highlights of the games before, made me a UK fan. And looking at that Elite Eight game again, I'm glad they beat Michigan.

Great video! The team vastly underachieved during the season, but reached their full potential when it mattered. Too bad it didn't include a trophy instead of just a runner-up banner. That has been the best any UK has performed in the postseason in 8 years. I hope that streak ends after the 2023 tournament!
