    Did you use stainless steel for your RSU base? Mild steel is usually specified due to its lower resistance, but it's a pain to keep rust-free.

    • @Steven_Rowe
      @Steven_Rowe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's mild steel

      @@Steven_Rowe Looks way too shiny to be mild steel! Higher resistance means higher voltage required but maybe that's worth it to avoid the rust.

    Marvelous, I've just ordered a J68 from Connoisseur so I look forward to the build for it. Do I need to use the type of soldering Iron you have? I have a very good temperature controlled soldering Iron, I assume that's good enough.

      Hello
      No you don't need am RSU a temp controlled iron is good, infact you don't even need a temp controlled iron unless you are soldering white metal.
      I only just got the RSU and what you saw in the video was the very first use of it.
      Hope the J68 goes well, take your time, any any questions give Jim a call, he is only to happy to help

      @@Steven_Rowe Thank you, I've just ordered the model. Jim has been very helpful to clarify the motor & Gear Box. I need to order it with the J68. I'm glad you are building this as I can follow it and take my time while I do this, I think it's better to do this over buying a 0 Gauge RTR model
