    Some feel this new generation Acura TLX fits into the Executive Sedan segment, which sit above the Compact Executive and below a Full-Size Luxury Sedan. While this generation Acura TLX is slightly larger than the outgoing one, we here at PRN feel this still competes well against the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, both on price, and on overall space. However you categorize this car, the new Acura TLX brings an updated look to this vehicle with some compelling features.
    Our full tour and review of the 2021 Acura TLX Platinum Elite goes over some of the mechanical changes from the previous generation including the new 2.0L engine, 10 speed automatic transmission, and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. Customers in the United States will be looking at the 2021 Acura TLX Advance Package with SH-AWD, for about $49,825.00 USD.
    We take the 2021 Acura TLX on a real-world road test to talk about how this sedans handles, drives, and performs on the road, along with our fuel economy testing. We discuss some of the reasons you'd want to put the TLX on your list of vehicles to consider along with some of the small complaints we had about it.

      I think so too! Was driving around and spotted a couple of the ILX redesigns, not a bad looking car either.

    Drive a 2010 TL 6spd manual with SH-AWD and you have the sportiest Acura ever, (not including the NSX) at least until the 2022 Type-S.

      I always hated the look on that general of the TL. The 2004-2008 had a better external design.

      I know, right? The TSX was sold as a wagon in the US I believe, never up here in Canada though. Some have imported those so they’re a pretty rare sight.

    IMO the best small midsize car in the world. I rank Lexus IS second. Both of these vehicles have a wonky infotainment. Otherwise this feels like a Integra. I wish they extended the wood to rear door side panels. Great review.

      car is like 195 inches long. Yet is similar in size inside to a Genesis G70 which is 185" long and has a V6. What? The Accord is two inches shorter and has 8" more leg room in back according to one reviewer. 8". Wow. I haven't checked that myself though.

    I'm up for a new car in the spring and it's coming down to the TLX vs. Stinger. I've heard the Stinger has a ton of issues with creaks and rattles. Did you notice any creaks and rattles in the TLX? How is the TLX ride quality over bad Canadian winter roads vs the Stinger's ride quality?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Acura has a softer ride, as the Stinger is more performance oriented. I was lucky to have this for 3 weeks and didn't notice any abnormal sounds, same thing with the Stinger. I had a 3 week loan on one back in 2019 and put about 3,000km on it without any issues.

  • @Av3ntur0zky
    @Av3ntur0zky 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    1:12 to clarify it's not front wheel drive. It's Front biased awd!

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it really is FWD. In the US you can get it without SH-AWD making it a regular old front wheel drive sedan. I’d argue that Audi’s Quattro would be described as a front bias since you’re almost never in 2 wheel drive with that system, whereas this Acura spent a lot of time without sending power to the back.

      What that interior is very modern and looks like most brands do now a days if you don’t like it that’s one thing but it definitely isn’t dated. 2011 the navigation screens in cars were integrated into the dash and not in the driver sight line.

    Gorgeous car but Acura is about 10 years late to the game...

    • @GoofieNewfie
      @GoofieNewfie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      which is why it isn't selling. They missed the mark on too many things. Interior with their ugly tablet and touchpad interface is a mess and 10ryrs too late, now everyone is going back to integrated screens. The backup camera is a really bad joke on a 53 grand car. The entire interior might be of higher quality but it belongs in a SUV or minivan, not a sports sedan. Why is it so large, yet so small inside. I had a 1st gen TLX, this thing I was waiting for, but it is a pass for me. Push button shifter in the dash, bad trim levels, Accord engine isn't even more powerful than the Accord. Type S won't be fully loaded either. Total miss by Acura.

      @@ThirdBrainLives He has that ugly first gen TLX, that's why his view is so biased. The new car is wider than a M8 Coupe, it looks almost like an exotic on the road. The pics(and videos) don't really do it any justices.

      @@GoofieNewfie I think your comments are right on target. If most objective people would take a look around at other brands the world see what you mean. I too was anticipating this car but will not consider in the 50k range based on features. Perhaps when the discounts/rebates drive it down 10k, or a couple years old, I will take another look. Hopefully, upgraded digital instrument cluster and screen navigation for 22/23.
