You know what I do when I have trouble sleeping. On my lap top I find a fireplace that's burning and the logs are snapping and popping. I absolutely love it!! It's soooo calming listening and watching the fire on the lap top!!! Try it. It my help you get to sleep!!!
Custer, South Dakota. No bugs. Warm days gets down in the 60s at night. Mountains. The Black Hills of South Dakota. Lots of outdoor things. Back wood roads, creeks, streams. I love it there. Snows November to March this spring starts. Temps stay most of the time above freezing but gets in the 40s,,50s. You'd love it!

Spraying for mosquitoes. The spring water is 72 F year round there.
The Alligators don’t want to be in the cold water if they don’t have to be.
A zip lock bag is your friend in the river for loose items.

You had lost your glasses, but had your keys attached and had spared your life from the alligators...............I've never been to "that part of the woods", nor ever seen alligators, big bugs that land on you, etc. You are certainly a brave lady. I'm from Washington State where we have small bugs and animals which are not dangerous, unless you tempt them. Bumped into ur channel. I have midsize bus n three yrs later still haven't had a maiden voyage. I'm an ole biker and I believe u ladies are crazier than me. No way I'm getting in that water with alligators. I'm very slowly getting things n learning bout living on the road.
