The mysterious metaphorical way of thinking, the symbols woven into his poems, draw you into the depths of the soul and evokes so many emotions and thoughts. I just love this man. He's a rare breed.
And you, Saeed, are not the casual listener... That's why we appreciate you so much❤ We enjoy hearing your interpretations of Asaf's songs.
    Thanks again for this reaction🙏

Just Beautiful !! A perfect sync of music and lyrics"
As you mentioned, the lyric has a few words, but definitely the content is incredibly profound
I love your reactions and your insights while exploring this amazing artist!
Thank you Saeed for sharing this one with us!
I loved this song from the first time I hear it. (I don't know much about poem/poetry, but the first sentence, which directly refers to the title (Finally, it's clear), immediately caught my attention and made me want to listen to the rest..) Asaf is a genius !!

Thanks for the reaction🙏 As usual, I really enjoyed your analysis of the song, and the way you listen to the lyrics and the musical structure of the song.
What I liked about the song is that it is apparently a love song, but it gives the impression that he is not singing it to his beloved, but is trying to analyze how he himself feels about this love. The water in the song is used as a metaphor (for love?) Sometimes it rains, sometimes you swim in it, sometimes you drown. There is something flowing and alive in it, but also the danger of an end...
By the way, I like this version of the song more than the album version. I rediscovered the song in In a Box 3.

I like the rhythm of this song. It's a comforting sway, almost like rolling waves. I'll write a little about the meaning of it, if you want to leave it to your own interpretation.. stop reading.

Anagnorisis is the album title as well as the song's title. Asaf has always been introspective (I'm sure you know this by now lol..)and when he wrote the album he once again wanted to find himself. His true self, or a new way of understanding himself and be able to say "this is me". He wanted to write more abstract than before and more in stream of conciousness without much refinements.
He had read Aristotle and this term got stuck in his head: "anagnorisis" - the realisation of your own true identity - but he didn't think he'd have any real use for it. Until one night when he woke up and had like a "meta -anagnorisis" 😂😂 and realized this term only works in movies or theatres with one dimensional characters. So his own anagnorisis was that there is no anagnorisis in reality. 😆 The album title is a bit ironic in that sense, he says. But again he found that it is impossible to put structure on our chaotic conciousness, we are always a multitude of selves, ever changing, we are formless and we can get lost in that chaos, just don't expect to find your true self 😄
I love how we get to follow his thought processes in his songs.

Saeed, I am struggling to understand some of his words. Auto print captions are hit and miss. Not constant. Frustrating. I'm glad you understand. Loved the melody and hit and miss on the words always. So sad for me...he is so damn gifted. And to think he picked up a guitar he was given years ago by his parents when asked and never used, finally at 26vwhem his girlfriend of many years a d he broke up. That's when the singing started also.,an outlet- and Europe has kept this gem to themselves all these years until a Ren fan heard him and suggested Ren listen amd he was blown away and asked us renagades to like and follow and share...thank you Ren....

The automatic captions are not always accurate or even present. I noticed that in some other video's as well.
He definitely is a great musician and writes beautiful lyrics.
Really enjoying this journey of exploring his music.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
