I sort of started liking Max again because he was trying to do better but now that he has ALLOWED Lauren back in his life, he is exhibiting really poor judgement. David and Shona need to put their foot down hard on him and exert more parental control but they're parenting is really bad. They have to see that Lauren's full agenda to show back up in Weatherfield is to help out her dad.
