Gone are the days where football is a sport, it is a business and will need to grow. SJP has been great but I think if we don't take this chance to build a new home then it would hold the club back from competing with the biggest clubs. As long as the build has football as the main focus then the atmosphere will not be lost.
As much as staying at SJP would be ideal. I can’t see the PIF writing a cheque for 1.3B just to add 8,000 seats. I feel it’s time for a purpose built brand new stadium an 80,000 seater at least is required. A once in a generation task, that will last forever.
We love st james' and it's design makes it an iconic English stadium, but renovating isn't really feasible. The revenue lost during the renovation would be detrimental to income, too many challenges in regards to planning permissions due to surrounding areas etc.... for me, and new stadium makes more sense, it can be designed to be the "Wembley of the north" to usually world class stadium that players want to play in etc....
No it hasn't been confirmed but this is what they are debating, this or a new stadium, I don't think it'll be 1.3b to renovate, but it definitely will be high hundreds of millions
⚫️⚪️ WE NEED A BRAND NEW 80, 000 SAFE STANDING/SEATER, SUPA STADIUM, TO HOLD MUSIC CONCERTS ETC, TO MAX REV. IN THE CITY CENTRE, HOPEFULLY IN LEAZES PARK, DUE TO THE CORRUPT P.L NOT ALLOWING US TO SPEND . MAJ OF NUFC FANS ARE 99% ON BOARD WITH THIS NOW. COMPARED TO WHEN THE IDEA WAS ORIG FLOATED. WE MUST THINK OF THE FUTURE, PLUS GET ALL THE FANS LOCKED OUT, WK AFTER WK, IN..... I, FOR ONE CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY BUILD ⚫️⚪️
Constructing a stadium on the current arena site has found that there wouldn’t be enough space given the steep decline that leads to the river Tyne. I know. I walk across the Redheugh bridge constantly. Building a new stadium in Leazes Park despite complexities is the best way forward in my opinion.
@@WokeWinner69 what you mean like the plastics that were there filling the ground even when were were in the championship?. you need to wake up and smell what you`re shoveling.
Newcastle do need to move to a new stadium, and to meet demand it needs to be over 80,000 in capacity, ideally 100,000 for big games like champions league games. They can easily do 80,000 for league games. By far the best supported club in England. They were selling out 50,000 in the second tier!
Is this a joke? Surely not even the richest person in the world would be willing to waste £1.3 billion to gain just an extra 8,000 seats. The return of investment would be about 500 years. It's a non starter I'm afraid.
The Gallowgate is he singing end, get your facts right. I have been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and sat in the same seat in the Gallowgate since they build the new stand. Trust me the people who put this video together need to get their facts correct
Love the ground, very unique but as much as we wish it could stay as is, the only way PIF get the world's best status they hooe for is to go big and 65k just doesn't do that. New one though would have to be within the city limits or it kills the spirit and energy the toon provides.
If this has been released by the club then it's simply public relations to feel the backlash and determine the best option,I think they're going to build a brand new stadium ,the falacy that you can spend 1.3 billion for an extra 10 thousand seats doesn't exist in business ...i.e it's stupid ! ....the other problem is where does Newcastle play when building the new stadium...sjp obviously ..then it can be broken down and that ground can be used for other business to make more money
Load of bollox, its already been said that they cant move it to the metro arena site as it isnt big enough and half of it is already getting houses built on it.....the only way this can happen is moving it slighty into Leezes park, the Saudis have money but to spunk 1.3 billion to add 8000 extra seats is pure insanity.
Do some actual research before uploading shit! as fans we WANTED the new stadium on Leazes park it was opposition groups from residents close by that scuppered it !!
They are pronouncing it correctly. Built on the site of St James hospital and adjacent to St James St. Just because fans have been miss pronouncing the name of the ground for over a century does not make it correct. And yes I am from Newcastle
Utter rubbish. This plan would never get passed. Anyone who knows the layout of Newcastle knows they’d never get this passed council planners. It would take the restructuring of major roads in and out of the city. Newcastle cannot expand their stadium outward on any side, they can only expand upward.

This isnt even confirmed so i feel as tho this video is a bit BS. They wouldnt spend 1.3B to turn a 52,000 seater into a 60,000. Video is all woff
Totally agree, spurs stadium £1bn

Juve fans hated their new stadium. The atmosphere MUST be maintained. High stands, close to the pitch.
60k is no good it needs to be 80k at least.
Clueless!
Agreed. 80-85k would be a good max capacity
100,000 if the Saudis are really ambitious
It needs to be at least 155,000 capacity to accommodate all the plastics that will be attracted through Newcastle’s success. Any less would be madness

I like SJP
But not only 60
Newcastle need 70

Great support, sure, but 'by far the best supported club in England' is up there with the biggest load of hyperbole ever spouted.

Need to be at least 200k seats and hover off the ground.
900k😂
😂
All seats to be heated with built in massage too 👍
St James’ is pronounced Jameses
Nice for sharing Bro..
This is what happens when a bot account gets AI to generate a video about Newcastle United.
How about making the stadium as it but putting the prices up for everyone n everything at the stadium??
new stadium aimed at 75k with expandability in the future. City centre based then turn sjp into a park that is better than Leazes is now.
There is the issue with the lights around the surrounding houses it will be like the stadium in Ireland

Keep St James, would hate to move
You’re showing the East stand as the Milburn stand ya whoppa

It would never move, especially when the Metro station is right underneath it
You can tell this person has never been to st James park 😆.
Plz keep the retractable roof like santiago bernabeu

They moving to a new stadium all details will be released early 2025.

It’s St James’ Park, not St James Park ffs 🙄
Just demo those damn listed buildings, st james has more history and worth to the city than those buildings do
You live in those buildings?
its St James' Park not St James Park get a grip
This video is total BS .. don't waste your time !!
By the way, this plan has already been scrapped.
If they can't even pronounce the name of the Shrine correctly, it ruins the credibility of the whole video.

Leazes end has the loadest home support too 🤔😂

Is North England including Newcastle becoming more poor and losing population? If so then why expand stadium?
