It's not as hard as you think. Once I went camping with a bunch of mates but we forgot our fishing rods and all our gear. We made a fishing rod out of a metal bar, the hook out of a safety pin, bacon for bait, no sinker, and guess what. We caught a 70cm eel.
Good old days lol. When I was a young lad, I too caught fish that way and it was so much fun. Days like that will never return but hope more young guys do that and enjoy there childhood. Awese video and thanks for bringing back good memories for me👍
Tie a small rock 2 inches above the hook really small but enough to give it some throw power. It'll carry its little weight a little further out n well uk uk throw a bobber on it so it won't sink to the floor and boom fish
We carried the string and hook attached to cardboard in our pockets. We have done this since the seventies. We had tons of lakes around where we lived and we caught grasshoppers and other bugs to fish. There were trees everywhere so you could make your own pole anytime. . But it's nice to see someone doing this now days.
Homemade fishing pole is not a trash/garbage me and my older causin use homemade fishing pole and we always catch 8-12 fish every 3 hours Steps to make the perfect homemade fishing pole: 1.find the perfect stick (Bamboo stick is good too) 2.put your string and hook 3.put 2-3 inch stone to throw it further (A stick shaped stone is the best one) 4.your done but to make it evenmore perfect put rubber on the string (15-16 inch away from the hook)
My dad used to catch fish around similarly like that, he caught little minnows and had only one small hook and one small line, he only had help from his friends but mostly himself, and he used bread as bait and when he caught the fish he would fry it with oil, salt, and pepper, and they were like little snacks that they would enjoy, and it was hard to catch them even. Like if you lost the hook or line you would not be able to catch anymore fish until you would have enough money to get the replacement item.
This is how I fished in the river using bolts, washers,+ lug nuts as sinkers on 50-70lb test line in the '80's... Catching big carp, red horse, suckers, cat fish n bullheads
apparently basic English isn't easy for you. also if you're one of those people who think hunting is better then fishing then you should know that I've killed birds and squirrels with rocks off the ground
I've been catching fish whit home made fishing rods for as long as I can remember. Only I make my fishing rods properly. They are 2 meters tall hazelnut rods, whit 3 loops made out of steel wire, and two screws to hold the string. The floater is made out of the top part of a corn plant stem fitted on the string whit two small sections I cut from a appropriate size rubber or plastic tube. It works grate and I enjoy making them as much as I enjoy fishing.
Actually, I have a story for this lol. One time my dads said of the family went up north and they forgot my fishing pole and no one would let me borrow theirs. I really wanted to fish so I came up with the idea to make my own, i got a stick, found some old fishing line, and I had to look under rocks for worms. I DIDNT use a hook. Since I didnt have a hook, anytime i felt one single bite I would have to pull the stick out super fast. Anyways I did that for a while and I ended up getting a small bluegill:)
When I was really young my dad took me fishing and didn’t have any pole for me so I asked for some of his spare wire or line(idk what it’s called lol) and tide it on a durable stick I found and wrapped a paper clip with the other end of the string then used me expert bug catching skills to get a grasshopper and dangled it in the small canal that was leaving the fishing spot and caught a 14 pound fish within five minutes of starting,I don’t have many memories of making my father proud so it’s nice to have this memory
Homemade fishing pole when I was young , he had a soup can nailed to a wood handle . That was are caster . You would wind the line on outside of soup can and put the sinker and hook inside the can . we could cast it out about 70 yards that way .
If you go to Chain Bridge near Washington DC, about 5 miles South of Great Falls and past Little Falls you will see around 20 Spanish people using string wrapped around soda cans fishing on weekends. I think there are at least 5 people there daily. My guess is that they have no money or they are avoiding the need of a fishing license. What worries me is that they do not seem to take the Fish Cancer sign seriously. That sign is there because tons of Mercury was dumped in the river about 120 miles up river and is now part of the rock bed. Carp and other fish that hide in the mud have it in them now. The factory that did all the dumping was shut down long ago but nothing can be done to get the Mercury out.
Omg I've done this before😂 I went fishing with my fam but I accidentally left my fishing pole at home then found fishing line and my sis felt bad bc I wanted to fish so badly so she improvised for me then I caught a little fish after abt 15 mins😂❤❤
I'll never forget when I went fishing with a stick and some line and my friends just laughed with their nice fishing poles and I was the only one that caught anything all day.
Bro I caught a catfish with those exact things except I use the worm instead of powerbait it was a baby catfish but I still caught a catfish and what's funny is that I actually pulled it in and lost it well
I love fishing with a homemade fishing rod I do have real rod but I love the homemade rod more and I usually use bread or corn and catch lovely fish I always catch 15 plus
i forgot my poles when i was going to go fishing a few weeks ago but had my hooks and line. tied the line around my index finger and threw the bait like a baseball and reeled it in by wrapping it around my finger. got a lot of bluegill and a couple bass doin it. it’s not as fun as a rod but fishing is fishin!
Man, that's a handline, not no damn 'homemade rod' 🤨. People use these all over the world, just gotta learn how to cast and set the hook and you'll do better than the other guys.
“yo bro, that fishing rod looks dope, what is that?”
“stick.”

I used a hand made fishing pole exactly like yours once and caught 3 fish!! It was my first time fishing!!

I use a branch and string and a hook cause I don't have one but I've caught 3 sunfish with it!

I know the spot, you gotta save some fish for the little kids in that kid designated spot of the river😂😂 Congrats on the catch

i used to think it was called master bait and no one every corrected me

lol
The top part of the bamboo which is thin works perfectly with handmade guides as a fishing rod 😁
🤣😭😭🤣🤣 fisher man of the year
Forget that stick.... just use the spool.... I have done it many times. That how I learned to fish
This is actually surprisingly effective I did this at a quarry and I put the stick between a rock and caught a good sized blue gill
Once camping, I found tangled line on a log with a hook. Untangled it, dug up some worms and hammered trout all night. Was a blast.
Your friends felt sympathy💀
How did they make the homemade bait pls tell me
Do you have a monsters because I just got a baby one today! (Also very random question) now you have a new sub!

The biggest troll to this video is your buddies using the spinning rods upside down 🤣😂
I knew you’re gonna win because your friends had their fishing rods turned the wrong way so that just shows their knowledge at fishing
At least he's honest that that's not the best looking stick around. But a stick is a stick and they're all special.
You also need some weight on it since you don't have the velocity of your fishing rod swinging
Homemade fishing pole when I was young , he had a soup can nailed to a wood handle . That was are caster . You would wind the line on outside of soup can and put the sinker and hook inside the can . we could cast it out about 70 yards that way .

It's almost like hundreds of years of hand-lining never existed...
It’s been thousands of years since fishing was found and STILL the fish all fall for it
My friend caught a barracuda on a stick and fishing line , wildest thing I’ve seen with my own eyes
I thought it was a powerbait ad. Until he's forensic had a better option 😂
