is that speaking from experience?? Ha ha, There is quite a large amount of liquid coming from the bell housing so I would take a guess and say the slave has gone
Nice! I got one too last year, 225 quattro 6. At 137k miles. The first two months of ownership, i changed the firstgeargetter bushing as 2nd gear was my first gear.. then it left me stranded cus the alternator went out, then a few weeks later, the fuel pump went out and left me stranded. Changed it to a VDO FP and working great. Then this year the stock air intake elbow blew by where the turbo sits. I was running MAF less and with low boost until an aftermaket intake came. Now we running good but it still needs suspension, motor mounts, and new headlights. At the age of these mk1's they will need their things but its worth it, these cars are fun and rare here in california
The prices these go for in the UK are absolutely crazy. I own a '02 BAM 225 and love it to bits. 196K kms and going strong. Costs me crazy money to keep it running, but it's just so lovely. Can't see myself letting it go any time soon. ❤

Hi Dom, That is screaming break me but I will truly enjoy watching regardless of what direction you take. If you do decide to break it I would welcome seeing how that works out for you in terms of seeing if you make any money out of the whole deal. But if you decide to lavish it with love and skill then I'll still be super happy to watch what you do.... thanks as always for the content and entertainment. K
Surprised to hear you think the downpipe install is one of the hardest things to do - I just fitted a Pipewerx 3in & sports cat this weekend and, apart from it being quite long winded, I found it a relatively easy process! Looking forward to seeing what becomes of this 🤙
Id say the 3 inch was done because the original downpipe had failed and you can't get new oe downpipes only 2nd hand. Gravity sell a stainless version of the standard downpipe that was the only one I could find but if your going to the effort of replacing a downpipe might as well fit the pipewerx one.
