    Great job as usual. I love how you keep it real even when you had to switch from camera to phone! Appreciate your comments on Lazar and the games. It must have been super emotional to be there as it was tough to watch the games not being there in person. Please keep up the heartfelt work. We'll all be interested in what changes CrossFit makes going forward. Thank you!

    Everyone was so excited for the games this year. It was amazing to watch the athletes and their training throughout the year to arrive to the games with absolute tragedy on the first event. It was a lose lose situation - cancel the games or keep the games going. I think the placements would have been completely different to be honest but it was amazing to watch the resilience of the athletes to fight through the weekend. The athletes who withdrew should be celebrated too. Even though they didn’t compete, they still trained for it. HQ needs to really regroup in terms of the future for the games. This was horrific and more safety precautions need to be implemented.
    Thank you so much for all of your coverage this weekend. It was good to be able to see your recaps at the end of the day after trying to follow what CrossFit put up on TH-cam.

    The story from the 2024 Crossfit Games wont be about who won, but who we lost, this will be the enduring historic memory of this painful moment.

    It’s crazy how there’s people that value competition more than human life. It’s ok, my common sense is different than other people

    Great recap Amanda, glad you were there and got to be a part of it all. I always value your reporting and opinions. Thought it was a good games, with the exception of the Lazar Dukic tragedy. I commend all the athletes, for demonstrating not only their physical strength, but their mental strength and ability to deal with adversity, loss, and changes of schedules and still perform at a high level. Thank you athletes for the class you showed and inspiration to gave. Love you Amanda, now go home and hug Carson!

    I don’t understand why they didn’t air the closing ceremonies. Especially this year. I think the community that couldn’t be there in person would’ve really appreciated it.

    These games should have been cancelled. The worst decision ever to continue. Money/greed override everything else! Respect to these athletes for not being a part of this circus! May CF burn down to the ground!!

    on a different note, thanks for the updates and the highlights of events 9/10. They've been taken down from youtube in Europe, probably due to copyrights with ESPN. It seems on the men's side, many of the athletes were missing a gear. Perhaps the loss of Lazar deflated some of them as well as the inability of Crossfit to postpone the remaining events after the death of Lazar so the athletes and family could grieve, and find resolution in the investigation. Perhaps this added to the apathetic feelings toward competing by some and allowed for the rise of a new champion. Just an observation. Vellner's interview on Butterybros put it best.

    There are influencers saying that the CrossFit Games is a fading entity, and should probably just go away. Now, with this death of an athlete, I think they might be right. What’s your opinion on this, Amanda?

      He lost a friend. He’s emotionally drained. You can see it in his face. He doesn’t care about placement.

    • @ChicoProductions2012
      @ChicoProductions2012 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@veronicazimmerman3294 I would have agreed with that assessment if Sunday's results happened on Saturday. No one knows how a person copes with death. But I think a month, a year or five years from now, he will care about that third placement because he didn't finish the job (first place) as a tribute to his friend.

    • @ChicoProductions2012
      @ChicoProductions2012 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Laura wouldn't have beaten Tia, but Emily wouldn't have been on the podium. I'm happy for Emily because this was a one-time opportunity (on the podium) and she took advantage of it. On the flip side, this was a one-time opportunity for Brent (winning the Games), who didn't take advantage of it but at least made it to the podium.

    Good for Emily taking advantage of this opportunity to make the podium because this might be it. And yes, good job for Bethany and Haley. I had both in the top 10. On the flip side, Brent -- as you mentioned -- did not take advantage of his opportunity to win it all. That's too bad because nothing is guaranteed in life. Finally, perhaps I'm misreading it, your tone in talking about the multiple investigations -- including the police -- sounded as if someone will "pay" for Lazar's death. Do you think the family will sue CF?

    CF HQ ruined this sport for me, I just don't do CF anymore, I do Functional Fitness for time from here on out amd is blocking everything CF related, including this channel. The level of ignorence shown by CF HQ and the people following them and their narrative still. A methology based on "first responders" and "community", dealing with a preventable death like this, is horrific. Pat Velner said it on the Butter Boys, "this is not the army, it's a sport". Thanx and bye.
