That is Lalisa Manoban aka Lisa. She is a rapper, a singer, a dance mentor, and the best dancer of the group. She release her own dance videos on TH-cam and do many live solo dance performances. I know you already checked out Lovesick Girls, but before reacting to the rest of their songs in their "THE ALBUM" (THE ALBUM is their first full-length album released just this October 2nd which is crazy), I suggest you check out some of their older stuff and carefully making your way to THE ALBUM to get a sense of their growth as artists. Don't worry they don't have a lot of songs (which is shocking seeing as they're already the world's biggest girl group right now..yep not just Kpop girl group..but female music group in general).

Almost all of their songs have dance practice videos where they just do the choreo in their dance studio in 1 take.
-> All their songs have "Japanese versions"..Their songs usually have Korean + English..but their JP versions have Japanese + English. Some of their rap verses in their regular versions are already in English..in the JP versions the English parts are retained and those rap verses that are Korean in the regular version are in English in the JP release.. All the Korean verses in it are Japanese.
I suggest watching guides about them after watching (3-5) of their music videos to get to know them individually.

I know my comment is too long and I apologize for that but since their discography isn't that quite large yet, it'd be best if you start from their debut songs and then slowly climbing your way into THE ALBUM. I've also included guides that'll help you get to know the girls individually. The amount of fame these queens have achieved in their short career of 4 years still boggles me up to this day. I hope you get to see their growth as artists and come to love them as much and hopefully, become a Blink (BLACKPINK fan).

'sup Slink! Just to clarify the meaning of the song, which can be looked at as a "relationship-ending" song, but whose message is really about being introspective and changing yourself for the better. If you watch the four girls and read what they're talking about, they are each describing the reason why they get into toxic relationships. They realize that they must "KILL" this sort of behavior in order to have a healthier relationship. Jennie, on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake. Lisa, the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more. Jisoo, in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow. And Rosé, driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".
3 of their music videos have surpassed 1B views and 2 more will be added to the roster by December or January (we're hoping).
They are the first proper Kpop group to perform at Coachella. They are currently the 2nd most subscribed artist on YT (Justin Bieber is #1 but BP will pass him soon).
They have a clear advantage over other groups because all the members speak English (and other languages). Most groups usually only have 1-2 English speakers (and even then they're usually broken English). The different cultural backgrounds of each member also makes their dynamic diverse.
Glad I found you! I think its time for you to check out their album "The Album" a lot of english tracks, but only a few have music videos.

You got a lot of great music videos ahead of you, try How You Like That next, or if you want mostly English hit up Ice Cream ft. Selena Gomez. I also recommend watching some live stages, Pretty Savage from Inkigayo is a must as well as anything from Coachella.

Let me help you out a bit regarding the members but I'll be assuming you already watched their Netflix documentary "Light Up The Sky".

She's actually the *main dancer* (not lead..the Netflix docu got this wrong) , *lead rapper* and *sub-vocal* . Lisa grew up competing in hip-hop dance groups (the docu didn't include this.. just general singing and performing contests) and she's now regarded as one of the best dancers in modern-day Kpop. She just moves differently from the other members (don't get me wrong they're all so goooood dancers) and you can see this watching her "Lilifilm Official" youtube channel where she uploads dance videos of herself. You can tell she tones down her dancing a bit so as to not outshine the other members. She's also an amazing rapper. Her flow is much like an American rapper's.. she's usually mistaken as the main rapper because she raps more than Jennie (people used to be so salty about this). Lisa is just so charismatic man you can't take your eyes off her.
-Lisa is Thai, so she speaks Thai. She also speaks English fluently (she has an American accent) because she went to an international school. She trained in Korea when she was in her teens (under YG ENTERTAINMENT). She didn't know a word of Korean when she first went there but now she's fluent in it. She is the language genius of the group as she speaks Thai, English, Korean, Japanese, and a bit of Mandarin.

She's the group's *main rapper* and *lead vocal* . You can already tell she's already a very strong rapper and vocalist since pre-debut. She may have the weakest stamina of the members (she got a lot flack for this as some made fun of her as a lazy dancer but she actually tires easily and gets injured quite often as you saw in the docu) but she makes up for it with her charisma and chic presence. All the 4 members are fashion icons globally (they're all embassadors for Chanel, Dior, Celine, Saint Laurent, etc.) but Jennie is #1 in Korea (vs not just artists in the fashion scene but also models, etc.). Her rapping flow is quite different from Lisa's. While Lisa's is swaggy, Jennie's is more chic and you can watch their DDU-DU DDU-DU music video to see her fast rap. Because she's a very strong vocalist, she raps less often than Lisa (that's why we've been asking for rapper Jennie since 2019. listening to The Album we're glad rapper Jennie is back ❤️) to sing more.
-Jennie is Korean by blood but she grew up most of her childhood in New Zealand (so she speaks English perfectly but in a New Zealander accent that sounds a bit British). She was supposed to live in America later on but decided she wanted to be a singer so she came back to Korea to train (under YG ENTERTAINMENT). She speaks Korean, English, Japanese, and a bit of Mandarin.

She's the group's *main vocal* and *lead dancer* . Her vocals are just so heavenly. It's light yet also very full sounding. We mostly get to hear her high notes but her deeper tone (in their pre-debut stuff) is a godsend that we want to hear more of 😭
She said she didn't dance before training but now you can say she deserves the title lead dancer and there are times where she outshines even Lisa. Her body just moves naturally without any awkwardness and stiffness.. You couldn't tell she trained the least of the 4 members.
-Rosé is Korean by blood but she was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia all her life (so English is her native tongue. Korean is her 2nd language as her parents still do speak it and they have a little Korean community in Australia). Her Korean was already good but not 100% fluent (she became fluent in it when she moved to Korea to train under YG ENTERTAINMENT).
Jisoo: 0:33 1:40 3:25
She's the group's other *lead vocal* and *visual* . Her vocals are just so unique and thicksounding. Her voice perfectly contrasts Rosé's and thus sounds very good when they harmonize together.
She's the visual in that she fits Korea's beauty standards the best (sure internationally we can all agree they're all beautiful but in Korea the average Korean may gravitate towards Jisoo's beauty the most). She got a lot of hate when they debuted because she was the weakest dancer (she was supposed to debut as an actress under YG ENTERTAINMENT) but now she really improved a looooot (she can put other artists to shame). She's the only one in the group that can't converse in English smoothly but she is learning.
-Jisoo is the only one born and raised in Korea. She's the only one not 100% fluent in English but she has improved so much since their debut (especially since the other members help her out in every chance they have). She speaks Korean and Japanese.
->I've stated the official positions of the members as established by YG ENTERTAINMENT but what's amazing is they aren't limited to those positions. They're all vocalists, dancers, rappers, and models. With their first full-length album "THE ALBUM" we got to see (and hear) Jisoo and Rosé finally rap (we knew they can because of old clips in their livestreams and concerts), rapper Jennie's comeback (finally), and Lisa's vocals shining through.
-> YG ENTERTAINMENT popularized hiphop into Kpop. Their artists have always been trendsetters and are known for their dark and swaggy tone. YG is #1 for some time now when it comes to rap and the charisma and stage presence of their artists when performing.
*PSY* (the guy that brought Gangnam Style into the world) was under YG and while his quirkiness is atypical of YG, his stage presence fits under YGE.
*BIGBANG* is known as the Kings of Kpop. This group is what got most people into Kpop. Even popular boy groups right now look up to BIGBANG when they trained.
*2NE1* are the predecessors of BLACKPINK. They are known as the Queens of Kpop in their time. They brought the girl-crush badass concept when most Kpop girl groups at the time were cutesy and bubblegum-y. They sadly disbanded right around when BP just debuted so unfortunately a 2NE1 x BLACKPINK collab is unlikely, to the dismay of us fans :(
