Berbick, Tucker, Bonecrusher, Holmes, Spinks, Tubbs, Bruno, Razor Ruddock, Botha, Golota. That’s a decent resume! Holy only fought Holmes on that list! Holmes was 42 and went the full 12 rounds with Holy. Neither Holy nor 45 year old Foreman went near Razor Ruddock. Bowe was battered twice by Golota. Witherspoon was battered by Bonecrusher. Biggs, Spinks, Tillman all Olympic Champions, Holmes and Spinks All time greats and let’s not forget Mike became undisputed by going round and beating all the Champions. Two wars with Razor Ruddock just to get a shot back at his own title don’t get anywhere near enough recognition.
Thank you Stacey, for pointing out the quality of Real Deal's resume. I once tallied the W-L records of his competition coming up, vs. Tyson's competition coming up and it wasn't even close. . (keeping in mind Holy won the title in his 12th pro fight vs. Qawi). Also, if you look at footage, as a cruiserweight, Holy was beating people up with highlight reel stuff almost as crazy as Tyson was, dudes flopping all over or going timber. In fairness to Mike, once he got ahold of Berbick, his only mission was to unify the titles and then defend them, which he did admirably, fighting the best guys available, even if none of them were hall of fame type guys. Also, one unique thing about Mike, is that he could destroy the B-level guys faster and better than anyone else I can ever really remember. Lou Savarese, The Black Rhino, Orlin Norris, Carl the Truth, etc....these guys were not bums whatsoever, but Mike got them out of there fast and violently.
One thing Stacey failed to mention about Tyson vs Tucker. Tucker had zero recovery time to fight Tyson. He just came off a hard fought come from behind win against Douglas to win the belt. He had less than 2 months to prepare to fight Tyson. Making Tucker the shortest reining heavyweight champion.
He was the co trainer at the end of Tyson's career. One of the Don King leeches. They hindered Mike ..they damn sure didn't help him. Mike never was the same after Don King had him fire Kevin Rooney. That was the downfall of Mike. He lost most of his head movement and peek a boo style after that and never was as good as he was under Rooney. It's a damn shame but the truth .
I'm my opinion, mike was at his peak at 19 years old... I know it sounds crazy but I always believed that. I'm 43 years old and watched all mikes fights all the way back when I was young. We used to order a bunch of pizzas and two liters of Pepsi for each fight.. It was a such great memories and I thank my parents for those days .
@George112 your opinion is diff then mine and that's ok. I still feel at 19 Tyson would beat Tyson at 20. His speed and foot work dropped alot in just 1 year. At 19 Tyson had more then enough power to knock any1 out. Just saying and good day to you..
Thank you for the link thank you for the upload. I've talked to one or two people about the OD d things might do with his left hand. If he misses with a right he pushes his left hand straight down as he steps in it's not a punch it's like a stabbing motion with his arm at the guy's head as he moves away you can only appreciate it in slow motion. Let's go champ
That was all very interesting I'm glad I tuned in. I've often wondered if Mike might have added some height to his rooster , I guess I might? have been right; I mean it's not illegal or cheating , and it would be likely that someone in combat sports especially someone on the shorter side would do it. I probably would too to be honest.

I think his two best fights were Marvis Frazier and Michael Spinks.......dont know how old he was for those fights.......but around 20/21 I think.
